Song 190
Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! Here we are, song 190! And this is the last song of the month! I think it's a good song to end this month on. It's called Back Of The Line by Wnsdy at 7, and no that's not a typo that's actually how it's spelled. Now the title may seem normal, but the context of the song is spookier. So let's get into it.
Starting with the intro, we have this almost carnival sounding tune. Which is interesting, and very fun too. Bringing us into the first verse: "Welcome to this, heartfelt black hole abyss. Yes all are welcome, if you're teething sink your teeth into this. It's a flick of the wrist, there's a spectacular twist. If you've been longing for belonging, then you won't wanna miss." This right here, is the set up to our story. I like this set up, it deffinetly makes you wanna know what's coming. Next is the pre-chorus: "The sense of loneliness is what you'll bare, who ever told you that life is fair?" That is actually very true. The chorus: "She'll rip out your spine, you know her words are unkind, oh yeah she'll murder you. (whoa ohh oh whoa) She's the Devil's spawn, making grown men crawl. Welcome to the back of the line." Now I'm not one hundred percent sure, what they mean here. But the chorus is very fun, and lively. There's an instrumental part, then it's the second verse: "What did you do? A secret table for two? Perhaps a seldom slice of laughter, served like rust on your spoon. Your emotions dismissed, monogamy don't exist. A complicated situation, oh here comes the kiss. The sense of loneliness if you dare? (I'm sorry old chap, no. Life's not fair)" The part that's in brackets is a speaking part, which makes it a little more creepy. Considering this is a pop punk song, having that in there adds to the context of the lyrics. The pre-chorus and the chorus both repeat here, along with another speaking part. Which I will add right now: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Children of all ages, step right up. Step right up! And feast your eyes upon the greatest spectacle under the big top!" Going back to the carnival/circus theme I mentioned at the beginning, that is a fun way to tie that in. So now we know this song is probably about being at a haunted circus, or something along those lines. There's another instrumental part. Then the chorus repeats again, and the outro is one of the lines repeating. But very effective. The vocals are fun too, it deffinetly has that pop punk sound, with the vocals in that same type of way.
That will do it for this review! I hope everyone has a great and safe Halloween, and I will be back next month! :) RAWR!
