song 229

 Song 229

Hello my fellow music lovers, welcome back to the blog! Today's song is Not Strong Enough by Apocalyptica feat. Brent Smith! I've reviewed one of their songs before, they have a lot of guests sing for them. Which I feel is really cool, because most of their music is classical, with no singing. But still rock oriented. One thing I love about this band, is their use of cellos. Who knew cellos could be involved in rock, but it just sounds so cool! So without further adieu, let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we already have that soft cello sound. It's very soothing to listen to actually. This leads us into the first verse: "I'm not strong enough to stay away, can't run from you. I just run back to you. Like a moth I'm drawn into your flame, you say my name, but it's not the same." He's speaking about how it's hard to resist the person he's talking about. The pre-chorus: "You look in my eyes, I'm stripped of my pride. And my soul surrenders, and you bring my heart to it's knees." Sounds like someone has it bad for whoever he's speaking about, which I totally understand. The vocals on this track are so freaking good! I absoultely love how this guy's voice sounds with the instrumentals. It's like this song was meant for him. The chorus: "And it's killing me, when you're away. I wanna leave and I wanna stay, I'm so confused. so hard to choose. Between the pleasure and the pain, and I know it's wrong and I know it's right. Even if I try to win the fight, my heart would overrule my mind. And I'm not strong enough to stay away." I know for me personally, whenever I like someone. I tend to fall hard for them, my feelings can sometimes cloud my judgement. I feel like that's what's being said here, how our hearts can sometimes take control over our thoughts. I think that's what people mean, when they say people do crazy things when they're in love. The second verse: "I'm not strong enough to stay away, what can I do? I would die without you. And your presence my heart knows no shame. I'm not to blame, cause you bring my heart to it's knees." Yeah he is clearly in love with this person, but there is something holding him back though. Because he says he's not strong enough to stay away from this person, meaning that he still feels like he has to in a way? Maybe? I could be reading that wrong, but that's where my mind goes. The arrangment of this song is so beautiful, with the blend of the cellos and the drums. It sounds amazing! Also this may be considered, what the internet calls "Divorced Dad Rock" Which I think is ridiculous, can we just call it rock please? Anyway the chorus then repeats, and we have the bridge: "There's nothing I can do, my heart is chained to you. And I can't get free, look what this life's done to me." Interesting wording here. The chorus then repeats followed by the outro which is some words being repeated. "Strong enough, not strong enough, strong enough. To stay away. Strong enough, strong enough. Strong, strong enough. Strong enough." I think he's saying how this person makes him feel weak, like he mentions bringing him to his knees. So this person really puts him in the feels, which I totally get. Also with the outro we have this beautiful cello melody, I love how it draws out the song. It puts you back into that mood, of longing, and wanting to be with someone, but you know you should keep your distance, but still you can't keep away from love! Yeah, that's how it makes me feel anyway. Hehe. Really a beautiful piece of art, I highly recommend you check this out.

That's it for this review, there's a song dropping this week, that I'm very excited to write about. So stay tune for that! Until next time, happy listening! RAWR XD <3

song 228

 Song 228

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am revieiwing another song by Fatehartt! This song is called The Twilight Dancer! This song deserves a review, so let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this awesome guitar riff going on. It's really cool, and heavy. I love it! Then we also have drums thrown in there, which really sets it off. This leads us into the first verse: "Making the most of a bad time living out of your mind, there is anguish in my skin. Now you see we carry the flame, in our hearts we won't succumb to you." I think he's talking about how we won't follow the rules society puts on us, and I really like how he approaches that subject in this song. The chorus: "With all this time you choose, to suffocate your children. Of all the ways to take and all the rules you make, they sing to the twilight dancer." So this twilight dancer could represent a lot of things, or people. Or anthing that makes you feel like you're being oppressed or surpressed. I have reviewed a lot of songwriting, since I started this blog. But there's something about Fatehartt's songwriting that really pulls me in. I think it's because he puts his all into his work, and I know he enjoys it as well. I feel like you can see that reflected in his music. Plus he always tells a story with his songwriting, and I love that. The second verse: "Till the day we die let these ashes fly, never suffocate, it's never too late. Till the twilight dancer rings their bells. Never suffer in solidarity your stories we'll tell." I like that last line, it speaks about how we should stand up for what we believe in. The chorus repeats twice, because there's no bridge. So the third time the chorus is said, that's what takes the place of the bridge. Then the outro, is the second verse repeated again, but I like how it's arranged in that section. The vocals are drawn out, so you can really hear what he's coveying in his words. Fatehartt always sings with this passion in his voice, I asolutely love it! People have compared him to Gerard Way in the way that he sings, but I feel like Fatehartt's voice is just a little deeper than Gee's. Plus he has his own style when he sings as well. Then following up the repeat of the second verse, the rest of the outro is the combination of guitar and drums. Playing this really satisfying beat, as the song comes to an end. I love how this song arranged, and I would love to see Fatehartt do a full on acoustic album one day. I think that would be really cool.

That's it for this review, please go show Fatehartt some love! And until next time happy listening! :) RAWR XD <3

song 227

 Song 227

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am so excited to be reviewing Black Veil Brides new song Vindicate! So let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this almost circus themed tune. It reminds me of the music that's playing at the start of Motionless In White's music video for their song America. It's an interesting choice, but I kind of like it. As the intro goes on, that's when the beat drops. And it leads us into the first verse: "I feel the rage begin, boiling in my blood with all my pride and sin. Vindication always starts within. They say that we are born believing. And then they take your soul to steal you, I can feel my anger's driving me. I can hear your screams." So I'm not really sure what this song is about fully, so I'm gonna leave this song up to interpretation. But I really like the melody of this, it's very satisfying. In my opinion I don't think these guys have ever had a bad song, like I don't think there's a song of there's that I don't like. The pre-chorus: "I feel lost and loud, everything you say another sacred vow. Never let it go, until you drown." I like the flow of this part, it's very smooth. The chorus: "I know I'll never let it die, all of the memories burn through. And I'll fucking vindicate my life, and bury what's left of you." I can tell good song writing when I see it, and I know this means something I just can't figure out what. Also the screams on this track, are awesome! They seem to be going back to the earlier days, when they used to scream a lot more. And I honestly love it, I really like this heavier sound they have going on. The second verse: "I'm haunted by the ghosts of my own life, won't let them die." A short second verse, but still impactful. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat, then we have the bridge: "Writing down my misery, the dark consuming me. Just another hateful beast, I cannot sleep. Writing down my misery, the dark consuming me. Just another hateful beast, I cannot sleep." The dark, almost macabre theme is really nice to see. From what we've gotten so far, I can tell this new album is gonna be amazing! The album drops on May 8, so be on the lookout for that. Then the chorus repeats, and the outro is the pre-chorus. But I like that, I like that there's an outro. Also of course Andy's vocals are always on point, they sound epic in this song. The music video for this song, is interesting. There's nuns and vampires wrapped up in it. I just don't like the editing on it, I wish it was one long continuous story. Instead of cutting back and forth to different scenes. But if you like it, then that's great. And if you wanna check it out, then please do so. But to sum up this song, I really like it. I can't wait to see the rest of the album, and I hope you check it out.

That's it for this review, until next time happy listening! :) RAWR XD <3

song 226

 Song 226

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I will be reveiwing Under The Knife by Icon For Hire! This is a very powerful song, and has a very heavy but needed message in it. So let's get into it!

There's no intro, so we'll begin with the first verse: "This is the song, I'm too scared to write. But some of you, may need it tonight. Oh there you were, heart made of glass. Fragile little things, shattered too fast. Had to pick the pieces up, up, up. And that's why you first got cut, cut, cut. The devil drew you in, you didn't let it show. Didn't want the others to ever have to know. They you were getting hooked on up, up, up. And all you had to do was cut, cut, cut." So this song is about self harm, and depression, and self hatred. But it's also about, not letting that stuff get between you and living your life. I find the melody on this part very satisfying, and empowering. The chrous: "You carved a special place for your pain, so it came back to hurt you every night. You closed your eyes, and wished it away. Until you disappeared under the knife." This is talking about, how when the pain you feel is too much to hold inside, that's when you draw to cutting. Because sometimes, it's the only pain you can control. The second verse: "You knew the deal, no one gives a damn. Just another needy kid, sob story in hand. Keep your secrets covered up, up, up. We don't need another cut, cut, cut. But you couldn't hide, a heart made of glass. You pull yourself together, with all the strength you had. You were finally fed up, up, up. Finally had to scream enough-nough-nough." Sometimes you just can't take it anymore. The chorus repeats, and then there's the bridge mixed with the outro. This part is rapping, but I kind of like it. Which is odd, since I'm not a huge fan of rap. But something about this is different. "Listen, I know it's simplified from the other side. It's easy to gloss over all the messy reasons why. And it's easy to forget where you've been, I guess that's what the scars are for huh? When we were 15 we wouldn't dare let that shit be seen, but now it seems mutilations gone mainstream. I see you at my shows, scarred up from head to toe. Like there's no point even trying not to let it show. Cause we all know emo kids like to hurt themselves, too many feelings, and not enough self control. And I mean does this mess with any of the rest of ya? It's an epidemic and we're cool with it don't question it, but it bothers me our scars are currency, by which we're measured. Like let the records show who let it slip, and who held it together. Cutters and burners, and honorable mentions. Posers who cut themselves up for the attention! I don't care your intentions, I just want you to know. My self hatred never took me where I wanted to go, at the end of the day, yo uknow I still had to face. But I can pick up the pain, but I can't cut it away. And you know what else I can't do, is give you ten good reasons not to. I've racked my brain, with clever saying of all the things you ought to do. But you know  I think if there was something I could say, they would've thrown it on a brochure and sent you on your way. So I'll keep doing what I always do, drag my heart to the piano and make it sing for you. I'll keep doing what I always do, drag my heart to the piano and let it sing for you." I know, that's a lot to unpack. I think this was a love letter Ariel wrote to fans, telling them that she sees all of us, and knows what we've all been through. Now, I've never cut. But there is still one thing I used to do, and sometimes still do it. I dig my nails as far as I can into my skin, because it distracts me from whatever I'm feeling. I used to do it a lot when I was in school, because school made me so anxious. I still do it, if I feel really anxious or just really sad. I know it's not the same thing, but I do know what it's like to feel immense pain and wanting something to be in your control. I think Icon For Hire did a really great job with this song, and what they set out to do with it.

I hope you consider checking this song out, I got a lot out of it. And if you are struggling, and if you are hurting yourself, or if you have self harm scars. I want you to know, that it doesn't make you any less than. If anything it makes you so strong. You also are not alone, I know it may feel like it at the time, but I promise you there is someone out there who knows what you've been through. Take care of yourselves everyone. And remember you are loved, you are worthy, and you deserve good things. Until next time happy listening <3

song 225

 Song 225

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Today I'm reviewing Intoxicated I Love You by SayWeCanFly, I think I reviewed one of his songs before. But that was a different time, and in a not very healthy relationship. So this song is very different from the other one I reviewed, instead of love, this is about a love lost, that wasn't that good. So let's get into it!

There's no intro, so we'll just move into the first verse: "And here I thought we would just be talking, little did I know. We'd be taking chances in the closet, you get a little drunk. And you let a little loose, I might as well shut my mouth. And have a couple drinks too. You push me up against the wall, and I can feel your hips in the bitter-sweet movement of our lips. You whisper to me, I want you to be my first one and I want your first one to be me." So this starts off sweet, you know two people finding themselves, maybe it's love, maybe it's not. Who knows, I like how that's done. The pre-chorus: "We better find a room, as we stumble down the stairs. And everybody knows, but we know nobody cares. You shorten my breath, and you lay down on the floor. I remember everything but I forgot to lock the door." It seems like thing really did move forward from that first encounter in the closet, and now they're trying to find somewhere private. Again still relatively sweet, before the bombshell is dropped. The chorus: "And you my dear, are so sincere. With the way you're breathing, and your eyes are bright my chest is tight. We both know this isn't right, this isn't right." There's the bombshell, they know that what they have isn't right, at least not right now. The second verse: "We stumble through the door, and you're holding my hand. And all of our friends won't let us live it down, and I was so proud to finally be a man but little did I know. That this was nothing but a one night stand, oh." I have never understood one night stands, I feel like they're so messed up. To play with someone's emotions like that is just cruel, maybe it's because I'm ace, but yeah I just never understood them. The chorus repeats, then we have the bridge which keeps going throughout the rest of the song, into the outro. "Now you're screaming, I don't love you and I never did. You're just a number in my pocket so get the hell over it." This hit for me, for reasons I've mentioned in previous reviews. But it still cuts deep. I really love how this song can connect you to something like that, and the vocals are actually quite good as well. This whole thing I think is done on an acoustic guitar, which is really cool. It also has that pop punk indie kind of vibe to it, which is also why I was drawn to it. The music video was also really nice, I liked the storyline in that one.

Really good song, I hope you check it out. And until next time, happy listening! :) RAWR XD <3

Song 224

 Song 224

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! I finally have the motivation to write a review again, I am going to be reviewing Chemical Gods and The Muse by Fatehartt! Because he's my favourite person to write for, and I love him, and okay yes I'm obsessed with him! I think this song deserves a review, so let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this piano action going on. It's fast paced, but still melodic. Then we're hit with soft drums, and the combination of piano and drums is really nice. This leads us into the first verse: "It's the end of the world, all the papers say. Is filth and fucking disease, you're the queen of disaster baby. Don't ever fall to your knees." He's saying how, no matter how ugly the world seems and is, don't let it bring you down. I love that. The pre-chorus: "And at the end of the world, these mother f***** singing, hallelujah. As they pray to their Chemical Gods." Talking about how government officials are toxic horrible people, and how they try to preach about love and acceptance but it actually sounds more like hate. They're all hypocrites in that sense. The chorus: "Come one come all, welcome to the show. Welcome to the end of the world, I'll make damn sure we last." Fatehartt has such a way with words, like he's such a talented lyricist. I find it so facinating. (and attractive) uh anyway, the second verse: "Surrender, I can not. The grandeur, I found. Heart vendors, sacrificial. Lambs to the slaughter of the damned." I'm going to leave this part up for interpretation. The pre-chorus repeats, with a slight change in the lyrics. "So if we bleed, let this heart rage on." I actually really love that, it's saying how even if you're hurting as long as you're still here on this earth, you can make a difference. Then the chorus repeats, and we have a bridge: "We'll carry on with the soul of the muse, with these hearts and the scars of the soul. Carry me to whatever comes of my fate. Now see the ghost come back to me." Like I told you, a beautiful way with words. *sighs dreamily* The chorus repeats, with the outro being the bridge. And we have that piano action again, as it fades out. I love that! It sounds so good, I always appreciate a nice fade out. His voice on this one, is just so good! The tone of it, and the screams are perfect! You can hear the passion in his voice, and I love it! I'm in love with his voice. It's incredible, lovely, there's just something special about it.

Please go check out this song, and his other songs as well! :) Until next time, happy listening! RAWR XD <3

song 223

 Song 223

Hey everyone! Happy March! Welcome back to the blog! Today's song is Let Me Be by Escape The Fate. I think it's a really sweet song, and it deserves to be written up! (I'm kind of going through a dry spell with songs, so there might not be a lot of reviews this month, I will do my best though) With that said, let's get into it!

There isn't really an intro, it begins with the first verse: "Let me be your first time, let me be your last. Celebrate your highs, and lift you when you crash. The only name you breathe. Let me be, let me be. Let me be your slow song, let me be your fast. The thought rolling off your tongue, your pocket full of cash. The dream when you sleep. Let me be, let me be." The melody for this one, is up beat and very fun. I also love the lyrics, I think they're very sweet and romantic. The chorus: "(Oh oh oh) the night you won't forget. (Oh oh oh) the words you don't regret. Your one and only. Let me be, let me be. (Oh oh oh, hey) your make a wish that comes true. (Oh oh oh, hey) the one you always run to. Your one and only. Let me be, let me be." So freaking sweet! He's basically saying that he will be whatever that person needs him to be, and I just love that! The second verse: "Let me be the secret you spill in the dark, that puts you back together. When you fall apart, the heart on your sleeve. Let me be, let me be. Your balance when you walk along the edge. The out from under when you're in over your head. The reason you believe. Let me be, let me be." I have someone to believe in again, and it's been the best! Someone who has helped my heart heal, and who makes me so happy! (Yes I'm talking about my crush lol) The chorus repeats again, then it's the bridge: "I gave you pests not butterflies, I know you suffer through the lies, you're still the only one for me. Let me be, let me be." Perhaps he wants to make up for past mistakes, depending on the severity of said mistakes. Maybe the other person could potentially forgive him. There's a really great instrumental part after the bridge, awesome guitar work there. There's a repeat of the first verse, with a repeat of one of the lines from the second verse. With a pause in the music, before it picks up again. The chorus repeats a final time, and the outro has this electronic fade. I like it, it sounds cool.

Well that's it for this review, I know it's a little short. But this was all I had to say about this song lol, I hope you check it out! And until next time happy listening! :) RAWR XD <3
