Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I will be reviewing Fallout by Marianas Trench! The last time I reviewed anything by them was when I did the album review for Fix Me. So It's been awhile, and this song is very special to me so I thought it would be a good chance to review it! Let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this really unique sound that I could never quite place. It kind of sounds like pianos mixed with synths but I'm not sure. It sounds really neat though. Then the drums come into play, followed by the first verse: "An empty room, I'm empty too. And everything reminds me of you. So many things, I shouldn't have missed. The more that I push, and the more you resist. It's easy to say, it's for the best. When you want more, while you leave me with less." I love how poetic the song writing is on this, I've always thought Josh was a very strong songwriter. This song particularly, is very well thought out. We have the pre-chorus: "I know you're fine, but what do I do? I know you're fine, but what do I do?" This line hits different now, not just because I'm an adult listening to this now, but because of past experiences. It's amazing how songs can do that. The chorus: "I'm awake, and trying. While you're sleeping like a babe beside him. I'm on the ledge, while you're so. God d*** polite, and composed. And I know you see me, and you're making it look so easy. What comes and goes, I'd go without. I know you're fine, but what about. Fallout, fallout, fallout. Fallout, through the fallout. Fallout, fallout, fallout, fallout. You're the fallout." This is basically saying how when a relationship ends, and one person is fine but the other one is not. And all the emotions that come with that. Its showcased very well here. Also the music video for this, brings these feelings to light in a more clear way. It really shows how much these things can effect us. The second verse: "Well now there's him, and now there's me. The secrets you give, and the secrets you keep. And nevertheless, it's never you let. The more that I give, and the less that I get. Dont tell me to fight, to fight for you. After this long I shouldn't have to." The more than I give and the less that I get line, has deeper meaning to me now. I can fully understand that line now, because I did feel like I gave so much, but didn't get a lot in return. That takes a tole on you. But I know now, that both people in a realtionship need a balance of give and take. The chrous repeats, a bunch of times. Because there isn't really a bridge, just a slow down of the chorus. And the outro, bleeds into the next song on the album. At least album version of the song does. If it's just by itself then the song ends normally. I also really love how this song is arranged, the chorus is very catchy. And the backing vocals from the other guys, really adds some dimension to it. And of course, Josh's lead vocals always come through in the most beautiful way.

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today's song is R.I.P by Motionless In White ft. Skyler Grey! This new song is so beautiful, the music video is so gothic romantic. I love it! Chris's clean vocals are to die for, so let's get into it! 

There isn't much of an intro, just a soft tapping of a piano key. But I like that, it gives it a spooky feel. Then the first verse starts, with Skyler. "If you ever leave, it would be the end of me. I would die, but I'd never rest in peace. I'd never sleep, without you buried next to me. I would die, but I'd never rest in peace. I'd rest in." So this is actually the chorus of the song, but they also have it as the start of the song. This is where the real first verse comes into play, and now it's Chris singing. "What's meant to be or meant to break, is yet to be decided. A requiem to seal our fate has yet to be recited. Was all this suffering just a waste if, emptiness fills the spaces? The bond has reached the bone (the bond has reached hte bone) So if love is pain, then twist the blade and never let me go." I freaking love songs like this, the beautifully gothic themes within a romantic setting is so amazing! Then the chorus repeats, and then we have the second verse and we're back to Skyler singing. "The dissonance that points the blame, is louder in the silence. We lost ourselves inside the noise, with only scars to guide us. (Chris comes in here) Embrace it, show me your darkest places. Tell me you fucking hate this, we can't go back. This can't be the end!" I love this section, the deilvery of it is so freaking good! The chorus repeats again, and then we have the bridge: "If you jump, I'll jump too. Cause I would do anything for you. Call it love, call it doom. Cause there is no me without you." Another line delivered perfectly, Chris has such a beautiful voice. And Skyler Grey also has a gorgeous voice, they go well together. I also love how this song is arranged, it has this soft mysterious sound. I love that. This song is about loving someone so deeply, and that you can't live without them. Hence why he wants to buried next to who he's talking about. The corus repeats a final time after the bridge, with some little changes. "If you ever leave, it would be the end of me, I'd die inside but I'd never rest in peace. I'd never sleep, buried in your memories, I would die, but I won't rest, I won't rest, I won't rest in peace. I won't rest in peace. I'll never rest in, I'll never rest in." That was also the outro included in there. I'm not a fan of when songs don't finish sentences like this, it's like what's the point? Just finish the dang sentence! But I digress, still a really beautiful song, and you should check the music video as well, because that is also beautiful!

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am reviewing Decay by Fatehartt! He has his first show on July 30! I'm so proud and happy for him! So I wanted to write a review in honor of him booking his first show! Let's get into it! 

The intro starts off slow, with this acoustic strumming. Then gradually picks up speed. That's where the drums come into play, and it leads us into the first verse: "Tick tock, I am surrounded. By memories and romantic dreams, of sunsets and cemetery drives. It drives me wild knowing you're gone." This part here, honestly sounds kind of sweet. But also sad at the same time, because he remembers very fondly about a love gone by. I like how he coveys that, in just this first verse. A sense of longing almost. The pre-chorus: "Misery, your sorrows keep me company. (so don't be) As they kill me slowly. (Sorry) Maybe, oh baby. (For me) We'll meet again." I'm gonna make a comparison here, the misery part is interesting to me. Because he also has a song called My Friend Misery. Only here, he's talking about how misery is his company. But on the other song, he talks about letting misery go. I wonder if there's a connection, or I could just be reading too much into it lol. But that's where my mind goes. I also love his voice on this track, I always mention how he sings with such emotion and passion. And this is no different, I can feel everything he's saying in this song. The chorus: "Buried alive, buried alive. There's a hole in my heart, I've left for you. And I'm buried alive in decay and romance, you're killing me." I like how the chorus is set up, everything flows really smoothly. In this section, I feel like he's almost haunted by what once was. Or the crushing weight of losing someone you once loved, hence the term "buried alive" The second verse: "Tick tock, I can't turn back time. So erase these tears like magic, oh how tragic I'm so dramatic baby. This is misery and romance (this is misery, this is misery, misery and romance)" I can relate here, because I feel like my previous relationship was like this. I don't want to go into details, but those lyrics hit hard for me. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat, with a really cool sounding instrumental. Then it's the bridge: "We're all much too young to die for. Mad men, bad men, sell your soul for parts men. They say we've been so bad, we've been so wrong, so long." Now it's like the vibe has shifted, we've gone from heartbreak/agony/longing to the state of the world. I find that interesting how a theme can shift like that, but also still co-relating to what it originally is about. The chorus repeats again, followed by another bridge! This is a cool arrangement, you don't see songs with more than one bridge very often. Here it is: "Oh mother of mercy, where have you been? Oh mother of sorrows, you will decay." This could be about both the world, and ones own suffering. And rebirth in a way, if that makes sense. Because of the "you will decay" part erasing the sorrows, and hopefully becoming better after. The chorus repeats a final time, with some added changes in the lyrics. "Buried alive, buried alive. There's a hole in my heart I've left for you, and I'm buried alive in decay and romance. (decay ain't so far) You're killing me." I think this spart speaks for itself, so I'll just leave this up to the readers :) Now the outro/the end of the song is almost a whole other verse! It goes like this: "Baby if you sell your soul to mad men, bad men. Lemme tell ya they're the sorrows of misery. And though I'm bleeding, (mad men, bad men, sell your soul for parts men) My heart beats to the tune of the damned. (Misery your sorrows stole my baby's heart away) Buried in decay, no, no, no, no, no (Misery your sorrows stole my baby's heart away) I'll never let you bury this heart in decay. In the end I won't, let this heart decay!" I love how thought out this section is! It's almost like a letter of last thoughts. Then at the very last part of the song, it takes us out of this story gradually and with an awesome guitar riff. The last line of that section, I love because even though we've been hurt we can't let that keep us from joy or living. As long as your heart is still beating, you will be okay. That's my take on this, I'm sure everyone else has their own inquiry of what that means to them.

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am reviewing The Wounded by Skarlett Riot! Another band that I feel like doesn't have a lot of people that know about them. I could be wrong on that front, but I just feel like they're kind of lost to time maybe. But anyway, let's get into it! 

The intro on this song sounds like something out of a movie, it has this fast paced guitar riff happening. With epic back up from the drums. This leads us into the first verse: "From every wound there is a scar, and with every step I take the longer they take to heal. The weaker that I feel, oh and I can't commit to this fragile heart. The pain that's taken over, the outrage, the heartache." I feel these lyrics with every part of my soul, I also have a fragile heart. And sometimes that backfires on me, but I'm also grateful for the heart I have. Even with the scars. The chorus: "Oh, you're the weakness inside me, the poison. Oh, you're the venom I can't see. You keep pulling me in, to the darkest place. Face down in the dirt, you love it when I hurt. Oh, you're the weakness inside me, inside me." I honestly feel this section about the poison and the venom. I have a habit of only seeing the good in people, which has also backfired on me. I couldn't freaking see that my ex was never good for me, I'm just at a point where I wish I never got involved with them. I think that's normal though. I also really like how the chorus is arranged, it sounds very satisfying. The second verse: "I suffocate with every word. Every lie, every move you made. I detoxicate, elliminate those mistakes. I won't let you suck me dry, I'm stronger now from all the scars you made. They fade away, you slip away, I escaped. You mean nothing to me." Wow, what a therapuetic sentence! Also free style dancing to stronger by Britney Spears, that is therapuetic as well. I do feel stronger now, I know that I am living my life, and finding myself again. That's what's really important. The chorus repeats two more times, then it's the outro. This has the same sound as the intro, that action movie sequence backing track. I love it! It also draws out before ending! Which is always an added bonus.

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today's song is Frankenstein by Stitched Up Heart! I absolutely love this song! The music video is also amazing! So let's begin! 

There isn't an intro, the song just starts. The first verse: "There's a skeleton key, lies on the stairs. I should have been a little prepared. Picked up the key, opened the door. Don't have a clue what I am in for, there's a boy on the counter cut up in pieces. Still making sounds, he's barely breathing. I'm not a doctor, I can't make him better. All I can do is try to put him together." A great opening verse! Love it, Mixie's voice is really beautiful and cool. The pre-chorus: "He's made of staples and broken bones, bruises from chapters, stories untold. If I had a wish, it'd be make him whole. He's barely alive." I really like how this part is arranged, it's very angsty. The chorus: "I'm gonna call him mine, I'm gonna call him my Frankenstein. Cut up and bleeding from inside, I'm gonna call him mine." I almost feel like this is a metaphor for mental health, she found this guy kind of broken and maybe has some mental illness of some sort, and she wants to try to make him feel okay. Because she didn't say that she could make better, she just wanted to put him together. The wording there is very important. The second verse: "The skeleton key is still in my pocket, a small part of me wants to close the door and lock it. Wherever we go they scream at the monster, wherever we go the gunshots are fired." This part here, she's explaining how because he's different people riot and scorn. But deep down he's just like everyone else. At least that's how I see it. The pre-chorus and the chorus, repeat, and there's some awesome screaming in this section! Also there's a little extra line in this section. "He's barely alive, so is his soul. Bring him to the ground, bring him down!" Which is probably the villagers chanting that. There's another little line after the repeat of the chorus. "We will charge and fall bring him." The bridge is the pre-chorus slowed down, and then the chorus repeats two more times. And at the end we have "You're mine, you're mine. You're mine." The first two lines there, are being screamed. Then the last line is just normal singing, which I think is a nice way to wrap it up. I love the music on this track as well, it's heavy but also soft in some parts. I just love music like this, from the 2000s-2010s era. specifically the emo genre. It just sounds so good!

Hello my fello music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Happy Pride! I hope you enjoy yourselves, and live your life authentically, and full of pride! Todays song is Dejected by Deadstar Assembly! They are pretty underground, l feel like they were maybe forgotten, or just didn't get off the ground as much as they had hoped. I love finding underground bands, and bringing them into the light! I give them the recognition they didn't get when they were around. I've kind of been obsessed with this song, as well as a few others. So let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro. We have this really cool old school 2000s 2010s punk vibe to it. Which makes sense, since I would consider this genre to be gothic punk. These guys also looked really cool. This punk style intro, brings us into the first verse: "You swept me under the bed, now the ugliness rears it's head unshed. This darkening I'm over it, you've made me what I am today. Disgust is what you've raised unsaid, my awakening is far from dead." Already I love the theme of this song, it's very angry but also you feel the hurt as well. The pre-chorus: "So I'm not like you, no I'm not like you. Dejected for most of my life, so I'm not like you. No I'm not like you." I have also felt dejected for most of my life, it just seems like I get attached to people then they hurt me. It's a sad cycle I know, but I try not to dwell on that. And it seems like this guy doesn't either. The chorus: "So I'm crucified, I'm losing my faith. I'm hurting to feel. I'm searching and there's no one else here, if learning to hate is learning to feel, this life is so unreal. Abusing me again." It can feel like this at times sure, and I feel like this song is a great way to get out all those frustrations you have, not just with the world, but within yourself too. I really love the raw emotional journey this song take you on. Music like this, is so special. I feel like nowadays, music is so icky? I think is the best word I describe it as. Bring back music like this, please. There's a little instrumental, in between the chrous and the second verse. Also this line: "Dejected, rejected." Then the second verse starts. "A bad seed an utter degenerate, stained with your neglect unfed. The blackest sheep irrelevant, you made the stigma I enslave." This section here, I feel like he's talking about feeling different, not just from the world but from his own upbringing. The chorus repeats over and over, without a bridge. But it all sounds so cool, and I find it very therapuetic. Which might sound crazy, but it does help. I also really love the outro on this song, it actually ends the way you'd think a song to end. There's no sudden stop, it keeps going for a little bit. That's what I'm looking for! 

I encourage you to check it out. Who knows, you just might find your new favourite band! I don't think they are still making music, because their last album was in 2017. But still they're great songs. Until next time happy listening! RAWR XD <3
