Song 240

 Song 240

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today's song is Don't Be Afraid by Blacklisted Me ft. Nick Matthews from Get Scared! I really love this song, it's fun, it's sweet. So let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this pop punk melody happening. Sounds great! It makes you wanna move, and get dancing. This leads us into the first verse: "I can't find a way to lose myself, I can't forget your face. I won't be left alone today, because of your mistakes. Won't try to change the passerby, heart made of plastic waste. I love the love you left for me, but I can't seem to erase." This is one of my favourite duet songs, it's so sweet. This section here, I feel like they see each other for who they are. Which is very beautiful. The pre-chorus: "Perfect like a melody." It's a very short pre-chorus, but I like the way it's sung. The chorus: "It's unlike you to be afraid, take my hand we'll run away. I'll never let you down, and let you drown. You were meant for me. I can't fake an honest face, it's unlike me to act this way. I'll never let you down and let you drown, and you were meant for me." The hopeless romantic in me loves songs like this, so freaking sweet! The second verse: "Me, you're finding so susceptible, you know the way I'm swayed. Easily swept off my feet, don't let me be betrayed. I just can't find a reason to, want to leave your side. Perfect like a melody that never leaves my mind." The voices on this song also compliment each other so well, they blend perfectly. Which also makes sense with the theme of this song. The chrous repeats, and we have the bridge: "Saved me, I never though I'd find you, I'll never be the same. I'll never be the same without you. Take me, forever I'll be true. Together we can, together we can make it through. Falling forward, into your glass heart." I only wish there was a music video for this song, I think it would be so romantic. They see the best and worst in each other, and they still love every part. I love that. The chorus repeats two more times, with the instrumental being drawn out a then end. It sounds really nice, and I feel like it wraps up the song in a complete way.

A really sweet song, with some incredible voices, and a catchy melody. I hope you consider checking this out. Until next time happy listening! RAWR XD :) <3

song 239

 Song 239

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! :) Today's song is Done With You by New Years Day! This song just really spoke to me, and I wanted to share it with all of you! So let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this almost victorian style choir vibes. (I hope that makes sense) Then it gets deeper, and the drums come in. There's also some clapping, which is nice. Then we're hit with the guitar, just before the first verse starts. And it sounds amazing! The first verse: "Fell face down, hit the ground. Because of someone like you, I've become, become so numb. I am done with nothing to lose." Deep right? Love songwriting like this. The vocals are also really amazing! The pre-chorus: "When I taste your name it's like dirt in my mouth, I'll say it out loud and spit you out. What doesn't kill you, makes me stronger." You can feel the anger and the hurt at all once in this one section. The chorus: "This wasn't part of the deal. Pretending to feel, I'm not indestructible. My heart doesn't heal, it's colder than steel. Now I'm untouchable, cause it hurt like hell I'm not bulletproof. The pain and the damage you put me through, now I feel nothing cause I'm done with you." A perfect example of how much someone can go through, in a situation that wasn't healthy. Something I know first hand. The second verse: "You built us up then tore us down, turned paradise to a ghost town. Your mark of shame, can't rinse away. This aftertaste of the mistakes." I have never related to something so much, and the deilvery of it is perfect in my opinion. The chorus repeats, and the bridge is just a repetiton of the pre-chorus and the chorus. But the breakdown in between that is awesome! The chorus repeats a final time, and the song ends kind of abruptly. I'm not sure I like it, I prefer and outro that fades out slowly as the song ends. But overral, still a great track. Ash Costellos's vocals are amazing! The way she sings, I feel every word. That's what music should convey, and that's one of the many reasons why I love it.

That's it for this review, I hope you go check out this song. I wish there was a music video for it, I feel like it deserves one. Until next time, happy listening! RAWR XD :) <3

song 238

 Song 238

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am revewing one of BVB newest songs off their new album Vindicate! The song I have chosen is Cut, and this song also features Andy's wife Lilith Czar! It's such a beautiful duet, and the music video was incredible too! So romatically tragic, made me feel really single. And I'm too scared to ask out my crush, because I have a fear of rejection. But I digress. Let's just get into the song shall we? Lol

There isn't really an intro, with this song. I guess if there could be one, there's like a little cello or violin action happening there. Then we have the first verse: "I've got a lot of pressure on my mind, every note is this voice telling me to try. But I'm lost in all my darkness, and I can't let go. Every day I falter, every day I feel the pain. Kneel before the altar of all this rage, here's the truth. I never believed in you, ooh-ohh." Such a powerful opening verse, and the deilvery on each line is so beautiful. Andy's voice is such so soulful, and meaningful. The chorus: "Cause you cut me down, yeah you cut me down again. Nothing's ever gonna be alright, it's time to say goodnight. I hear you praying to Jesus, you won't have to feel it. Nothing's ever gonna be alright, it's time to say goodnight." From what I gathered watching the music video, is how even though you do everything you can, to save a love you think is perfect. Sometimes, it's just not enough, and that love ends up dying. That's what I gathered from it. I'm sure someone else, probably thought differently. The second verse, and this is where Lilith comes in. "Why do I still have you on my mind? And why do I still struggle harder to breathe, when I think of what you've done to me? Every day's a battle when you're living in the hate, rise above the surface, but it's just too late. You still loose, never believed the truth, no-oh." Lilith's voice is really amazing, and the way her and Andy look at each other in the video, is so sweet! Also this verse, is very relatable. I feel like this is what trauma can seem like, because even though you've moved on from the initial situation, the trauma is still there. Which could be why one of the lines is "Why do I still have you on my mind" And also "When I think of what you've done to me" Both lines, I feel like are expressing what you've been through, and the healing process. I could just be projecting from experience, but this is how I see it. The chorus repeats, then we have the bridge: "Round and round inside my mind, I'm loosing sleep and loosing time. But I know it's gonna be alright." Both Andy and Lilith sing this part, and it is so beautiful! Their voices blend so well together! The chorus repeats again, then we have the bridge, with some backing vocals from Lilith plus this long note near the end of that section. There's an instrumental part, which sounds amazing! Then the chorus repeats a final time, only it's a shortened version. I have been obsessed with song since it dropped, I absoultely love it! And I hope you will as well!

Also be sure to check out the music video, I have to say it's my favourite music video of the whole album. Until next time, happy listening! :) RAWR XD <3

Song 237

 Song 237

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! :) Today I will be doing a comparison piece on a cover. I haven't done one, since I reviewed BMTH version of Wonder Wall. So I figured this would be a great opportunity to do it again! Today's song is a cover of Thank You For The Venom by MCR, done by BVB! So let's get into it!

I'll start with the original song, now Thank You For The Venom is a pretty well known song by MCR. It's off their 2004 album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. A popular album of theirs. They're a heavier sound on this song, compared to the cover. As well as more screamy themes. But the vocals and instrumentals are still really amazing. Now on to the Black Veil Brides cover. The intro on both songs are still the same, they have that heavy sound. Only on the cover, it sounds darker. I feel like, there's a more poetic vibe to this cover. On the original, we have this raw almost angry energy. Whereas with the cover, you understand the lyrics because it's presented in a softer way. I'd also like to mention how it sounds theatrical too. If there had been a music video for the original song when it came out, I think it would have been really cool. I can picture the story more, when I hear Black Veil Brides version of it. Which lead me to think about a music video. On the instrumental part there is a deffinite difference, one sounds heavy but punk. And the other one sounds heavy and dark. I really like BVB take on this song, I think they did a really good job with it. On the outro, we have backing vocals mixed with the chorus. Just like the original. The song ends differently, by one note. Just one word, and note difference. For personal reasons, I like BVB cover because I feel like it's easier to sing along with. My lower register isn't great, when I sing songs that have a deeper voice. I feel like this cover makes that easier for me, just because it's in a register that I can sing. But I do still love the original song, because MCR is kind of special to me, they were the band that got me into the hard-core/metal-core/pop-punk/etc genre. So I'll always love them.

Whether you like the original Thank You For The Venom, or the cover by BVB this song is amazing! I hope you do consider checking out the cover though. Until next time, happy listening! :) RAWR XD <3

I'm trying something new, I wanted to start adding an author's photo :) That's me! I won't do it for all of my posts, but I thought I would try it :)

song 236

 Song 236

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am writing a review for Fatehartt! Yes again, I love reviewing his songs. I don't I've reviewed this one before, and I wanted to chnage that. The song I am reviewing today is Reckless! It's a great song, so let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this fast paced guitar action happening. Love to hear that! This is also blended with a nice drum beat. Leading us into the first verse: "They say this life I lead is reckless, and I'm burning up. Just cause I don't walk and talk in their way. When they say, I'm dangerous. Well then I guess that it, that it, that it's true." I feel like he could be talking about the music industry. Like trying to break into the music industry can be very challenging, and people have probably told him, that it is a bit reckless to pursue this type of career. But he's also embracing this fact, and showing those people that he knows he can make it. A very "So yeah, call me reckless, it won't the fact that this is what I want to do to." Type of statement. I love that, it's very inspiring. We then have the chorus: "If that makes me reckless, then I guess it's true. This life I lead is reckless. Rayeyayeyayeyayeckless." That last word there, is drawn out in the way he sings it. I love how his voice sounds when he does that, has that nice gravelly, mixed with kind of a screaming tone. The second verse: "They say pack your bags you're out of luck, but that's a blatant lie. Project your sorrows, cause I walk the line. I'm the kind of haunted soul, with no end in sight. Mastering the art, with the soul I spit with this guitar." I love that last line, the delivery on it is so satisfying as well. Because he is pouring his soul out to us through his music, I see it in his lyrics all the time. The chorus repeats four more times, with this awesome guitar solo thrown in between there as well. His voice is so deep in this song, I really like that. Because I can feel the emotions coming through, when he's singing. This song is about being seen a certain way, but also embracing that label to be what you want it to be. So being "Reckless" could actually mean that you're just following your dreams, and that's wonderful. We have this really awesome outro, with that epic guitar that I mentioned. Which also has that fade out feature at the very end, it's subtle but it's there.

A really great song, by a fabulous person. I hope you go check it out! Until next time, happy listening! :) RAWR XD <3

song 235

 Song 235

Hello my fellow music lovers! Happy May! Welcome back to the blog! :) Today's song is Half Black Heart by New Years Day. I've really gotten into this band, and I have found a handful of songs I love by them! This one in particular really had my attention, I love how it's arranged, and I wanted to share my thoughts on it with you! So lets' get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this raw bass line going. Which is quickly followed up by the drums, a really great way to start this song off. It hooks the listeners attention right off the bat, and has this heavy sound. This leads us into the first verse: "Who died and made you king? Who crowned you anything? Even gods rise and fall when they think they know it all, it's easy to throw stones, from high up on your thrones. Who are you to tell me what to be? When you can't see all of me?" I think she's talking about how, even people in power aren't as high and mighty as they claim to be. And yes, no one should tell you what you can and can't be. Only you can do that. The chorus: "I am the villain, I'm the hero. My horns hold up my halo, there's light inside the dark, of this half black heart. I feel alive in all the sadness, feel pretty when I'm savage. There's beauty in the scars of this half black heart." This part here, is talking about how. We're all capable of good and evil, but it's about what we do with both sides. There is beauty in the scars, whether emotional or physical. I have always thought scars are beautiful, because they show what a person has been through, and how strong they are. Emotional scars, might be a little harder to see. But when that person trusts you to talk about them, that's also a very beautiful thing. The second verse: "Hang me on a cross of hate, nail me to my mistakes. No one is without sin in this hell we're living in, why can't you let me be who I am? I never claimed that I was perfect." Nobody is perfect, it's just a fact. We're all human, and we make mistakes. As long as we learn from them, and growm from them. That's what matters. And sometimes, the things we might not like about ourselves, other people find amazing. That statement "Why can't you let me be who I am?" That's really powerful, everyone should feel free enough to be themselves. The chorus repeats, then we have the bridge: "I am pleasure, I am pain. I'm the peasant and the queen. Not all good, not all bad. So take me as I am." Absolutely, if you can't take me for who I am, then walk the other way. The chorus repeats a final time, and the outro has that heavy deep sound, like it did with the intro. Only more prominent. I love the vocals on this track as well, Ash has an amazing voice. This is just a well thought out song, with some deep lyrics, and very nicely arranged instrumentals. Also the melody is so fun!

I hope you consider chekcing out this song, and I will see you in the next one! Happy Listening! :) RAWR XD <3
