song 184

 Song 184

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog! I've been doing better, got this self care app that's been helping me. I've been getting back in touch with myself, like finding out I'm Ace, and remembering who I am. So for today's song I have Landslide by Smile Empty Soul! I have reviewed their songs before, they are really great. And so underrated, I don't think enough people know about them. But I really liked this song, so let's get into it.

Starting with the intro, it has this almost futuristic sound to it. Sounds very space like, while also being mysterious. Sounds very soft. This will bring us into the first verse: "Sing it like a sad song, heartfelt sorrow. Tell me where I went wrong, feel so hollow." One thing about this band that I love, is the deep and meaningful song writing. I'm a sucker for angst, so I love angsty stuff like this. The pre-chorus: "Back against the edge again, way too close to falling in. Got to stay away from landslides, don't ask why." I feel like they're saying how easy it is, to spiral with dark thoughts. Which could lead to you falling into a metaphorical bottomless pit. The chorus: "Close my eyes can't I forget, how my life is such a mess. All the while just pretend, I'm alright." Sometimes pretending we're okay is easier than explaining what's wrong, I should know. I'm a very emotional person, but sometimes I can't always talk about how I'm feeling. That's when music makes it easier, because then I can find songs that help me identify my feelings. The second verse: "Leave me with the light on, I won't follow. Show me where I went wrong, watch me wallow." No comment here. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat, then it's the bridge: "Letting go, hold it in. All the while I'll pretend, I'm just fine. Close the door, let me. Feel the room, kill the light before you go." Sometimes we do just need to be alone in the dark, to help collect our thoughts. For me personally I lay on the floor of my room, that helps me regulate myself, and reconnect with myself too. The chorus repeats again, and the outro is just repeating this line: "just fine" The music on this track is just so good, I love this post-grunge genre. It's perfect. The vocals are also really good. I really recommend checking this song out.

That's it for this review, Happy listening!
