Song 185
Hey everybody, welcome back I have another one for you today! A new song that was released by the band Armor For Sleep! They haven't really had anything new since 2022, that was when their last album came out. They did release another new single very recently, but I didn't like that one that much. This one however I did really like, and it's called The Outer Ring. Let's check it out.
Starting with the intro, the hook is so freaking good. It has that scratchy electric guitar sound, that sounds so epic. Then we're hit with the rest of the set, putting the listener in the mood for the song to start. The first verse: "The light from the mountain, that we used to stand in's gone out. And now we've got to venture down again, but it's so demanding. Just to keep standing, when it's the same road down that never seems to end." I don't think I'll analyze the lyrics for this one. I 'll leave that up to the reader/listener. The pre-chorus: "Cause all that we've been through, meant nothing to you. I know what I'll do." The chorus: "Cast out off to the outer ring, now I don't feel a thing. Only you could have saved me. Lights out off to the outer ring, now I don't feel a thing, you know you could have saved me." Musically it's a masterpiece, and the lyrics aren't bad either. The second verse: "When the sky was falling, I saw you crawling the ground. Just to grab all the stars that fell down, I'm burning the bridge. To keep it in the past, but it's hard to bite the bullet, when you've been shot in the back." Ooh that line is good. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat. There isn't really a bridge, or there isn't a traditional one anyway. The "bridge" is more of a type of breakdown, with a phrase being repeated. And the outro is "You could have saved me" which is kind of macabre in a way, whoever that song was about that last part is haunting.
Well done Armor For Sleep, this is really good! Also the music video just released, so go check that out too!
