song 196

 Song 196

Hello everyone welcome back to the blog! Today I have another song by Fatehartt, which I had previously did a song review for. This song is called Toxic, and it's quite catchy and deep. Which checks two of my boxes already. ( I have a bit of a confession, I have a crush on this guy) Okay, on with the review!

Starting with the intro, it's an homage to MCR's I'm Not Okay. Which I think is really nice, I love that. (If you don't know that song, then you probably won't understand but that's okay) The intro leads us into the first verse: "You die inside every time I walk away, you had to call an ambulance to make me stay. We both went down, from the poison on your. Lips so they can drag me to a gurney. That'll lay next to yours, you can never let me go!" Love the lyrics, lyrics have always been important to me. I love really good song writing, and he is a really good song writer. This song is about a toxic relationship, something I can relate to on a personal level. This next part is speaking, but the words are powerful. "Oh my God! The ambulance is coming to take your body away, mother f******** (Sorry I'm bleeping the swears Fatehartt) stay away!" This part gets screamy, which I love. Because I'm a metalcore fan. Then we have the chorus: "The pain, the lies. The thorns in my side, you feed me pills. To make me ill. The pain, the lies. The thorns in my crown. You feed me pills, to make me ill." For me, I feel like this could be an allegory for emotional pain. Only because I have emotional trauma, so maybe I'm just projecting. Or it could mean, that the situation was so bad he felt pills were the answer to numb the pain. But it's whatever way you want to interpret it, because this is just my opinion. The second verse: "Don't calm me down, cause I am gonna break. I'm breaking out, from this gurney, cause. I have been sedated, way too long I need to find my blood. From the altar that we spilled, on foundations of ash." This part I feel like he's talking about getting out of the situation, and feeling that freedom. I get that, I made some changes that have helped me. I like the line "I've been sedated way too long" I relate to this, because I was numb to how I was feeling. I knew it wasn't good for me, and there were moments when I thought my emotions didn't matter. I was too blind to see the situation for what it was, until I got out. But I'm doing better now. The chorus repeats again, and that brings us into the bridge: "So give me all you've got, from your withered heart. You speak too much, but say nothing at all. Give me all your pills. That's what you want, to make me stay. Oh you make me ill, is that all you've got. In your hopeless heart, you try so hard. I ain't ever going back. You want this forever, you want this forever, you want this forever, you want me. To stay! (You make me) Stay! (You make me) Stay! ( You make me ) ill!" I'm never going back either, only forward. I really like how this is arranged, the vocals and the instruments blend really well together. His voice is really cool, would love to hear some isolated vocals from The chorus repeats again, with this awesome guitar solo as the outro. Like yes! Play that thing! The guitar is my favourite instrument, and it's also my last name. Anyway, really cool song, I love it. And I think you might too, if you just give it a listen!

Well that's it for this review! Until next time happy listening! :) RAWR <3
