song 189

 Song 189

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Yesterday was my birthday! I am now 22 years old! Which is crazy, but I had a good day. I got some really great presents from my family. And people who wished me a happy birthday, Thank you so much! I also had a freaking amazing cake! So yeah, it was a good birthday! Today I have a new song for you, by a newer band. Besides being a newer band, they sound like they are from the early 2000s which is amazing! Because as you know, I love the era I grew up in. I know not every aspect of the 2000s was great, but honestly was any era ever really good all the time? I mean look at where we're at now! But I won't get into that, this is a blog for music. The song is called Die For You by Alpine Loop. I also like another song by them. I might review that one as well. But for now let's focus on this one.

There isn't an intro, so the song just starts. We have the first verse: "I always said I'd die for you, I think it's time to prove my point, and throw myself out of this window. Green eyes all wrapped up in winter, but she prefers the rain. Last chance to make something count, if you feel the same. Late night never sleeping but it's all good. We could take a night drive together, your eyes call out to me take it slow or whatever." So it's a bit of a long verse, I think the first half was actually the chorus. But I really love the old school pop punk sound they have going on. The chorus: "I always said I'd die for you, I think it's time to prove my point. And throw myself out of this window." I'm not really sure how to analyze these lyrics, other than. He was very committed to this person. Now this next section is hard to decipher into sections, so I'm just gonna write out the lyrics, and when I see the chorus again, I'll stop. So here we go. "It's 4am and I'm back to these thoughts, sick again from all these cheap shots. Yeah, I said I'd die for you. Sleep in the driveway behind your car, I'd never let you get that far, yeah. I said I'd die for you, stuck on the rearview making it clear you. Don't need anybody else, life happens faster when you see how far you've come. Old you'd be proud to see you now, you've come off course that's fine somehow. But life keeps moving on." Okay, so that was a long verse. That last part put things into perspective for me, life does keep moving. And leaving things in the past is what I have been working on, I'm working through my trauma as well. Because you need to move on, in order to feel okay again. I would say I'm not one hundred percent okay yet, but I'm getting there. So the chorus and another part also repeats again, and then we have a new part. "I said I'd die for you, I said I'd die for you, I said I'd die for you. Keep in mind when I drive you home tonight, I'll think it's fine if you take things slowly. You're the only one, caught your side glance echoing it's my chance. I've said it before it's real I'd die for you." Okay, but why is that part kind of romantic? Both parts of the chorus repeat, with a fading outro. Also these guys can sing! The vocals are amazing! It's a really fun song, with some deeper meaning. I'm sure all of you have some interpretation of that, so I'll let you come up with what you think it means.

Until next time, everyone happy listening! Stay safe out there, be kind to yourself and others. Give yourself time to heal, and to grow and learn. RAWR <3
