Song 188
Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! I have a song that's new to me, but it's an older song. It's called Dearest (I'm So Sorry) by Picture Me Broken! A band that I did listen to before, but didn't really get into them. Until this song kind of turned me on to them, I really liked it. So now I'm gonna review it.
Starting with the intro, we have a scratchy guitar riff going on. A really nice set up, along with the drums going heavy in there. Bringing us into the first verse: "A little less innocence, his morals aren't so well defined. You're here again, the rush begins. A line of joy and suicide. I can't find the words to say this, I'm running out of patience." I live for songs like this, it's awesome. The chorus: "Dearest I'm so sorry you're disturbed, you know I'd hang on every word. With each breath you take I think I've learned. Careful you might get burned." I like the concept of this, because she's saying how she learned her lesson from this person, and if you get close to her again. You'll feel her pain. It's also a fun chorus, I like the way it's arranged. The second verse: "Tears tug at the corners of my eyes, but I won't let them go this time. You're here again, the rush begins. A line of joy and suicide." The amount of raw emotion in this song is amazing! I love this level of song writing, as well as the instrumental aspects. The vocals are also amazing, this is a female led band. And she can sing as well as scream! You go girl! The chorus than repeats. There isn't a bridge, but there is an outro that sounds like it could be a bridge. "Dearest I'm so sorry, but this is not working. Holding onto what I fight for, bleeding for you. A face to die for." This part repeats twice. Along with this, the chorus also repeats but not fully. A very unique way to wrap up a song. The music video for this was also really cool, I wish I could live an early 2000s alternative music video. They are just the best!
So yeah, if you've heard of these guys before. Than I hope I brought back some memories for you. But you're like me and just finding out about these people, I hope I have convinced you to listen to this song. And some of their others as well. Until next time happy listening everyone!
