Hello my fellow music lovers, welcome back to the blog! Today I will be reviewing Rattle The Cage by Nickelback! ft. John 5! I've loved Nickelback since I was a kid, and I love that they are still doing music. This song is little on the heavier side, which is cool! Since they are known for soft rock mostly. But I do love this knew direction they have taken. So let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this epic guitar and drum action! It's amazing! It's the kind of sound that feeds my soul! This brings us to the first verse: "Welcome to the human ocean, crowd starts moving in slow motion. What you feel is what you came for, devil horns, what your hand was made for." I'm not sure on the context of the song yet, but I feel like it's gonna be a song that makes you think. The pre-chorus: "Hey, you, we don't care what you do. This is where you come to get out what you're going through. And time will tell, how long someone can yell. Scream until we know that they can hear us down in hell." Like I thought, profound lyrics. Music really does help get out all those pent up emotions, and thoughts. Whether it's belting out lyrics, or screaming along with the singers. It is a great way to get out whatever is going on in your life. The chorus: "We're past the point of pain, with backs against the wall. Has to be the one and one for all. We face another day, we raise the battle call. Rattle the cage, until it falls. So get up, get up. Rattle the cage until it falls." I suppose the cage could be a metaphor for anything that makes you feel trapped. This song is talking about breaking free from that metaphorical cage. The second verse: "Catch your breath, a new beginning. There's no rest once the room starts spinning, letting go of your frustration. Every form of your aggravavtion." This just confirmed my thoughts on the theme of this song, it is about breaking free from whatever happens. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat, then there's an instrumental portion. That replaces where the bridge should be. I don't know who John 5 is but he is a wizard on guitar. I saw him in the music video, and he played so well! The chorus repeats a final time. With the outro being drawn out by drums. It sounds fantastic! The vocals on this trace are so good! Chad's voice is still in great shape! I feel like it's gotten deeper over the years, which he already had a really deep voice to begin with. But now, it sounds really deep. Amazing song writing, and very well arranged.

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! Today I am reviewing Funhouse by Sitiched Up Heart! This band is so cool, I think I reviewed another song by them before. So let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this slow tune at first. But then it picks up when the first verse starts. And here's the first verse: "Welcome to the funhouse, let's refill that perscription. Tonight we're gonna let it out! In this mental institution, hey crazy people get down! Let's start the party right now!" Interesting take on a mental facility. I think I like what they're going for here. The pre-chorus: "Write for the dead, write for the dead. Write for the dead, write for the dead." There's some screaming mixed in with the verses and also in the pre-chorus. It's really fun, I like the dynamic of it. The chorus: "In this looney bin, we're all patients in need of medication. We've been committed in a straight jacket, trapped in an insane asylum." Now, before you speculate anything. I don't think this song was written with insenstive intent. I think they were trying to shine a light on mental health, and show that mental facilities aren't all terrible. Also this chorus is very catchy and fun. The second verse: "Welcome to the freakshow, come on you gotta let it go! Now tell me something I don't know, I've lost my fucking marbles!" That last part is screaming. I really like that, because it adds to the "madness" that is being conveyed here. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat, and there isn't really a bridge. In place of that, it's a slow down version of the chorus. With one word difference in the one repeat. (It's the F word) Then the outro is the pre-chorus. And the song just ends with the last word.

Hello my fellow music lovers, welcome back to the blog! Today I will be reviewing Pretty In Punk by Fall Out Boy! This is one of their older songs, it's off their mini LP and second EP back in 2003. I really like the 2000s sound on this track, so let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this guitar strumming. Backed up by drums, it deffinitely has that old school pop punk vibe. I love that. This takes us into the first verse: "Walking off that stage tonight, I know what you're thinking yeah. He stands alone, because he's high on himself. But if you only knew, I was terrified and would you mind if I sat next to you, and watched you smile. So many kids, but I only see you. And I don't think you notice me." I think this song is about meeting someone at a concert, and being too shy to say anything to them. I also love the catchy melody in this section. The pre-chorus: "Well, I've seen your boyfriend, and I don't think he treats you right. But that's none of my business is it?" Perhaps, but if he's being abusive to her in anyway. I think you should say something. The chorus: "I'm not the way you think I am. No. I'm not the way you think I am, no." Now this could mean a number of things, because people are very complex. I feel like this chorus is open to interpretation. The second verse: "The only girl who ever gave me the time, was the one who only wanted five minutes of mine. Knocking boots in the back, how degrading is that? I decline. I'm too terrified, and would you mind if I sat next to you, and watched you smile. So many kids, but I only see you. And I don't think you notice me." I decided to group that last line, into the verse because I just felt like it wasn't a true pre-chorus. Also good for you for declining what was suggested there. I know some of the context here, is a little creepy. Like sitting next to someone, and watching them smile. It's a little odd. But he is too scared to say anything to this person, plus he did kind of ask her. But it can be interpreted as creepy. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat. Then there's an instrumental part, and there's no bridge on this track. After the instrumental, the chorus repeats six times before coming to a close. I also like the vocals, because you can hear how far Patrick Stump has come with his singing. He sounded good here, but he sounds even better now. The song ends with a little drum/cymbol combo. It's very faint but it's there. 

I think this is a really good song, and deffinitly worth a listen. Especially if you're a Fall Out Boy like myself. That's if for this review, until next time Happy Listening! RAWR XD <3

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am reviewing Incantantion by The Howling! I don't think I've ever reviewed anything by them before. They are really good, they're from the UK and I am obsessed with this song right now, and I really wanted to review it! So let's get into this song! 

Starting with the intro, we have this guitar fade in this time. Which is really cool, but then the rest of the instruments pick up as the first verse starts. "In the mud and filth we'll invite the fires in. Holding hands, we'll watch the whole world burn down. A hedonistic silver dream, a vision of purity. Watch the pretty dancers going round and around. They'll never tell this story, there'll be no-one else to tell it to. It's the horror of a perfect ending. And it's over." Not really sure, what he means by this. But I really love the set up. One thing about me is, I have a very obscure music taste. I listen to things that may not always be classified in the emo/rock/metalcore genres. But the songs have a similar vibe. This band's sound kind of has that 80s/90s rock to it. I like songs that almost sound like a different decade, while still being modern. If that makes sense. The chorus: "Join me at the last resort, we'll commit the incantations to memory. Love me, we'll writhe and contort. We'll write an ending to bring down history." I love the chorus on this song so much! It's so fun, and very easy to dance to. Here I think they're saying how we have the power to change whatever we feel is wrong, and I love how they went about this. The second verse: "A morning caffeine sacrifice, lay your heart on ice. A poison will is just as good, as anything. Filthy fingernails with bullet lust, I say in venom we trust. What we deserve and what we need are not the same things, lay in our back here for me. Let's be the last to be so free, all on black for fortune and glory. It's juts you and me, I wanna watch the world bleed." Some very profound lines in this verse, I like that. A song that makes you think, not just about the world but how you see the world as well. The chorus repeats twice, then we have the bridge: "Love me by the fireplace, I'm content to never dare replace. I bequeath my body and my soul to eternal distaste. And you won't even know my name, happily I'll watch you trace. The endless flaws and scars behind this face. Watch the phantoms swirl and surround the failing engines, we're both so tired of this chase. So let's just erase." Amazing song writing, there's a lot to take in here. So I'll leave this part up to the readers to analyze, and find out what this section means to you. I love the vocals as well, their lead singer is very good. The chorus repeats two more times, with the outro repeating the last line. I like how he draws out his voice on the last syllable. Then we have this guitar riff right at the end. That struck chord sound, that's drawn out with moving the instrument shaking the strings. I love that!

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I will be reviewing Pretty Handsome Awkward by The Used! I don't believe I ever reviewed this song before, so I thought now would be a good opportunity! Let's get into it! ( I also really love this song) 

Starting with the intro, we have this nice classic early-mid 2000s rock sound. I live for that sound, it's so good! We also have Bert practically shredding his voice! Which is so awesome! This leads us into the first verse: "Kicking it out, your dream vacation. Is my hostage refuge, a work in progess. You bleed just like you puke while running a mile. I beg to differ, make me an offer. Warm summer rain, you bleed just you puke while running a mile." I'm not really sure what this song is about, but I love how it's arranged. The vocals are so good on this track, and yeah I just really love it. Then we have the chorus: "Hey, are you okay? You look pretty low. Very handsome awkward. Do you feel okay? You look pretty low, very handsome awkward." Not really sure what means, but the chorus is really catchy and edgy in the best way. I'll let you wonderful readers interpret this one. The second verse: "Your market value, your resurrection. Your shallow concept help your self. I hope you choke and you die, I know you meant it. Nice fucking disguise. (So hollow) Embrace the burn." Just in case there's any confusion, if there's brackets on sections of the song that means backing vocals. Which add a nice level of dimension to the song. The chorus repeats, and the bridge is a repeat of the first verse. Followed by more repetitons of the chrous, and finally the outro. And the outro is very satisfying, it's drawn out with the vocals and the instrumentals. Ending on a perfect little scream by Bert. This is such a fun, and edgy song. I recommend you go check this out, if you haven't listened to it yet. Or if you've never heard of The Used, go check out the rest of their disography. They are a really cool band! 

That's it for this review, I know it's a little short. But I just had a hard time analyzing the lyrics on this one. Hopefully all of you can come up with what you think it means. Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Today I will be reviewing one of the new songs from Motionless In White's new album, Decades! The song I have chosen is Love At First Bite! I am obsessed with this song, and I really hope they do a music video for it, because the storyline needs to be seen! So without further introduction, let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this organ playing. I know it's an organ, it's a very distinctive sound. What I'm not sure of is whether or not, they used a real organ, or an organ simulator. Either way, it sounds really cool, and adds the kind of spooky vibe they're going for. The organ is paired with some synths, and drum sequences. Very cool sound. This leads us into the first verse: "Blood-red lips hiding snow white fangs, a hellfire heart with artic veins. She walks the streets like a creature of the night. We're only up when the sun goes down, she's the siren song to my lethal howl. We lurk in the shadows, eyes glowing in the moonlight. Just waiting for our moment to strike." For those of you who listened to their previous album, Scoring The End Of The World, they did a song called Werewolf. This could be the counter song for that track. It has the same vibe, only this time the wolf is interested in a vampire girl. I love the storyline in this song. Little pre-chorus here: "And I would kill, to take a life with her." Two monsters in love, stalking the night. Sounds like a movie plotline. The chorus: "Cause I'm a sucker for a good time, and you're just my blood type baby. Would you hate a monster like me? Or could it be, love at first bite?" This chorus, is so freaking catchy and fun! Very dance related, I love a good dance song. Something I can stim to, is always a win. The second verse: "Drop dead gorgeous with an ugly vice, another soul lost to sacrifice. She's got lashes like wings, but she never bats an eye. Vindictively addictive with an appetite, she only comes alive in the dead of the night. I wanna sink my teeth into her mystery divine, are you terrified?" The last line there, the terrified part, it's a different effect from the rest of the song. It's like the vocals were synthized. It sounds neat. I also love clever vampire references with the wings and bat lines. The chorus repeats, with some backing vocals, that come with added lyrics. "A supernatural reaction, can't fight the fatal attraction." This part sounds very 80s. Like Micheal Jackson for example. It has that kind of sound to it. Also there's a slight lyric change on this part of the chorus. "You've never met a monster like me, so could it be love at first bite?" It's also kind of a romantic song as well. The bridge: "Hopelessly necromantic, can't fight the impulse. Forbitten love forever sealed by moonlight's curse." I like how they tied in the fact that they are the undead, and also the forbitten love thing. Because again with the whole vampire/werewolf storyline. Since both of these monsters bite. Very clever. I also like how the word curse is drawn out. There's an epic instrumental part, before the corus repeats again. Then near the end, we have this line "There's no other monster like me, it's meant to be. Love at first bite." Love how that's wrapped up, and a very sweet ending. So like I said, I would love to see a music video for this song! Also love all the guys vocals on this track, Chris's voice is to die for! He has such a beautiful sound, as well as the other guys too. They're backing vocals really add a level of depth to the song. It's perfect! There isn't an outro per say, the song just kind of ends. But you could think of the last repetition of the chorus as the outro. Such a great song, and you should go listen to the new album!

Hello my fellow music lovers, welcome back to the blog! Today I will be reviewing Heart by The Pretty Reckless! This is my first time reviewing a song by this band, and I have to say I'm really impressed by them. If you know who Taylor Momsen is, then you probably have heard of this band. She played Cindy Lou in the live action Grinch movie when she was a little girl. She was in other acting roles too, but she also has a band! So without further introduction, let's get into the song! 

Starting with the intro, we have this nice guitar strumming. It's really pretty, and simple but still very effective for setting the mood. This brings us into the first verse: "Never wanted to feel, never wanted you to steal, my heart. Never wanted to know, never wanted to show I'm weak." This line speaks volumes on how you could interpret it. I really like the melancholy vibe of the vocals as well. Then we have the chorus: "I'm falling all over myself, trying to be someone else. I wish you were there to walk me home, so I wouldn't have to feel alone." From my perspective on this, I feel like should come be talking about wanting someone, and not wanting someone at the same time. If that makes sense. Because the first part of this, she says she's trying to be someone else. But then she wants the person she's talking about to walk her home. It's kind of giving mixed messages. The chorus is also where the drums come in. Giving a heavier vibe to the melody. Then we have the second verse: "Always wanted to be, always wanted you to see. My heart. Always wanted your love, always wanted but never was." Okay, now this section makes more sense. I totally get where she's coming from here, but some people can't handle emotions unfortunately. Which makes you question, if your emotions matter. Well I'm here to tell you, that feeling things is okay. It's what makes us human, and I finally understand that if you can't handle feelings, then don't bother with me. I love how Taylor conveys that in her lyrics, and the way this song is arranged. The chorus repeats, with one small change. Instead of the word "trying" it's replaced with "dying" If you feel like you need to change for someone, then it's not healthy. Oh there's another part that changes on the chorus. "I don't wanna fight the world alone." I'm just gonna leave that, at that. There's an instrumental part, which sounds really cool with the guitar and drums mixed together. Then we have a little bridge: "Never told you before. Never loved you more." So much emotion in these two little sentences. I love it. The chorus then repeats, a final time. Followed by the outro, which slowly fades out. Bringing an end to an emotionally raw song. Taylors voice is also really amazing, she has a little rasp, which is perfect for rock and ballads such as this.
