song 222

 Song 222

Hello everyone, welocme back to the blog! Today's review is Twisting the Knife by Ice Nine Kills ft. Mckenna Grace. This is from the new Scream movie, now I'm not a horror fan but I do love this song, I think it's very pretty. So let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this hauntingly beautiful siren call. Mixed with piano, and this heavier sound. Then we're into the first verse: "This devastation. Follows me, follows me, constanlty calling me. I can't escape it. Helplessly, helplessly (hung up on history) Face to face with deja vu, when the ghost in me is you." I like how this is arranged, we have Spencer and Mckenna switching back and forth with the vocals. It starts out really soft and haunting, which makes sense for what this song is for. Then it gets heavier as we get into the chrous: "Can you honestly promise me, I won't be left here to die? I'm screaming for my life because. Honestly I'm not afraid till it's me twisting the knife. So I'm screaming for my life again." I think they're implying that the killer is them, and they're afraid of what they could be capable of. Also Spencer and Mckenna's voices sound really good together! They blend so perfectly. The second verse: "This force of nature. Follows me, follows me, constantly calling me. The voice grows stranger. Helplessly, helplessly hung up on history. My grace, I'm right on cue. Make a scene, I'll make one too." I have a theory, I think that ghost face is inside their heads, and that's the voice that they're talking about. He's the one, saying these things inside their minds. Making them go a little crazy. And it just goes to show how poerful the voices in our heads can be. The chorus repeats again, blending into the bridge: "Barely breathig, violently shaking and bleeding. I buried the past for a reason. There's always more room in the grave, the grave, the grave." Buried the past for a reason, yup. The past is past, and my dad believes that the past doesn't exist. Which is why you can't go back. If some things are meant to be in the past, then that's where they should stay. Then there's an instrumental part, it has that siren haunting call again mixed with some drum action. Then the chorus repeats, and also the bridge repeats for a final time. The outro, has that siren call again, and at the very end. We have some vocals from Spener "(Honestly, I'm not afraid till it's me twisting the knife)" I think that's a cool way to end the song. I like this one, because it reminds us that we don't know what we're capable until put in certain siutations, and also how powerful our inner thoughts can be, and the affect it has on us. Very well done Ice Nine Kills, and I didn't know Mckenna Grace could sing until I heard this, she's really good!

Very good song, and if you're a Scream fan, I'm sure you'll enjoy this as well. The music video is actually really good too. So be sure to check that out! This is my last review for this month! I will see you all in March! RAWR XD <3

song 221

 Song 221

Hello my fellow music lovers, welcome back to the blog! Before I get into today's review. I wanted to tell you about my new dream with this writing music reviews thing. One of my dreams was to write for an artist, and I am so thankful to Fatehartt for making that dream come true. I look forward to writing another one for him again! My new dream, is to one day write a review and have it up on Kerrang's website! I would love to write for Kerrang one day! If you don't know what that is, Kerrang is like this thing for alternative bands and artists. They had magazines back in the 2000s, but I saw someone wrote a review for New Found Glory. And it was up on Kerrang's website. I thought, it would be so cool to do that one day. Okay back to today's review, the song I have chosen for today is Rearranging Scars by Sueco. This song is featured in the new Scream movie, Ice Nine Kills also has a new song in that movie. Now, I am not a horror movie fan. But I do love this song. I don't know a lot about Sueco, except for the song he did with Stand Atlantic. I do know he can sing. So let's get into the review!

Starting with the intro, we have this heavy mix of guitars and drums and this eletronic sound that I can't quite place. But it sounds really cool, there is also a little bit of lyrics. "(I tried) I could try or I could say f*** it." This leads us into the first verse: "Can't blame my heart when my brain did it, my conscious way past the weight limit. Not fit to fit in or stay hidden, lost count of mistakes at eight digits. Retracing scars, constellation it. Replacing stars on the wraith celling. Speed racing bars, yeah, I hate feeling. Romanticize all the pain in it." Not sure how to analzye this, but I do like how the vocals are set up. The chorus: "I am so f****** sick of what I've become, if I was rearranging scars. (oh-oh-oh) I'd take what's most traumatic, make beauty out of madness. But there's no rearranging scars, (oh-oh-oh) I can't undo the damage, dig deep into the scratches. (I could try or I could say f*** it)" I kind of relate to this chorus in a way, and just musically it's satisfying. It's very catchy. There's a little instrumental part, then we're at the second verse: "Can't blame my heart when my brain did it, my mind is broke, I can't pay visit. My life's a joke, and God stay grinning. I thank the Lord that she made sinning. It hurts when I get pain withdrawal, plus everything got pain involved. I built too high, I'm made to fall. Don't sanctify my face at all." That part about pain being invloved in everything, is too true. Self-inflicted pain is honestly just as bad as when someone or something else causes that pain. I know it's a movie song, but it honestly runs so deep. I like that it's not our typical movie song or score. The chorus repeats, with some instrumentals thrown in there. There's no bridge, the chorus just repeats a final time. I would also like to mention the screaming voclas as well, very good screams. The outro is that same heavy electronic sound, which sounds similar to how Motionless In White use that method. I like it. So yeah, I think it's a really cool song, and even if you're not a horror fan I still think you would like this. Plus it's actually not that horror related, I think it could be an allegory for mental health, or even a metaphor.

There's also a music video that goes along with it, I haven't seen it. But you should check it out if you get the chance. That wraps up this review, I hope you like this one, and I hope you check out the song! Until next time, happy listening! RAWR XD <3

song 220

 Song 220

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! I can't believe I'm at 220 song reviews already! Today's song I'm reviewing is Dismantled by Icon For Hire. I really like the message in this song, and thought it was really good to listen to. So let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this slow and melodic drum beat. I like the set up, it leads into the first verse a little bit, then the rest of the arsenal of instruments comes in. The first verse: "I'm skin on bone, you like to watch me fading, fading, fading. Still holding on, won't tell you how I hate it, hate it, hate it." The pre-chorus: "Oh, just one thing left to do. Got nothing left for you, but I will make it through, oh." This song tells that, even though you've been through a lot, and even though you're broken, you can stand tall and fight. The chorus: "Take my heart, go ahead and strip me for parts. Pieces have gone missing, no survival instinct. It's my life, let you use it up one more time. Leaving me in shambles, I'll survive dismantled." This tells us that, we can still survive and heal even though we may be in pieces. My healing journey has been long, and I'm still in the process of it. I've come a long way, but still dealing with some things. This song put things into perspective, and was actually very therapeutic to listen to. Also the music video for this song is pretty cool! So please check that out! After the first verse, there's an instrumental part. Which has that slow melodic drum beat again, backed up by guitar. The second verse: "Gone as a ghost, my suffering is wasted, wasted, wasted. I stay composed, but underneath I'm raging, raging, raging." That's how it can be sometimes, you go through a lot of emotions when you're healing. Rage is definately part of that, I'm still mad at certain things. But you also can't live your life angry, so you direct that rage into something more positive and healthy. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat, then it's the bridge: "I send my regrets and you can keep the resentment, I will never forget you, now that I've learned my lesson. Spend the rest of my lifetime trying to unlearn your lies, only one of us is built to survive. I send my regrets and you can keep the resentment, I will never forget you, now that I've learned my lesson. Spend the rest of my lifetime, trying to unlearn your lies. Only one of us is built ro survive." And that someone is me, I am built to survive. Which is also why I loves wolves, because of how strong they are and how resilient they are. Wolves are fighters, if they can get through stuff then so can I! The chorus repeats one more time, there's some different lyrics on one of the repeats "And if you should ask for my dying breath, wouldn't know how to say no." I like the vocals on this part, very strong very powerful. Then we finish with that last slow melodic drum beat. I love this song, it makes me feel better. Makes me feel powerful, and I really think you should listen to it!

That's it for this review, I will see you all in the next one! RAWR XD <3

song 219

 Song 219

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog. Tonight I have a song, that was exactly what I needed to hear tonight. I was queueing up some songs, and Stay Alive by Andy Black ft. Matt Skiba showed up. I had never listened to it before, but I think the universe must have known I was struggling. So I left it in the queue, and I honestly love it. I'm gonna get a little personal with you all, I have a tendency to think I'm always bothering people. Or I think I'm annoying, and sometimes I feel like people don't like me, and I'm always worried I said something wrong. A lot of this stems from emotional trauma, I just feel like a burden at times. Music always helps me get in touch with my emotions, and this song put things into perspective for me. So let us get into this song.

Starting with the intro, it's Andy singing "Oh oh oh woah oh." A few times, which sounds really nice. This is backed by drums, slowly fading in guitar. This leads us into the first verse: "Your thoughts become your enemies, when you're locked inside this cage. Life can feel dead to me, and all that's left is rage. Regrets for all the time we wasted, thinking of ourselves. Holding on to pain you tasted. Living in this hell."  That first part is very true, sometimes my thoughts get all jumbled up and makes me think things that aren't true, and I feel down or feel bad. Also I kind of like how upbeat this song is, showing us how even though you might be feeling down, or hard on yourself, maybe this song talking about being in the moment can help. The pre-chorus: "Don't wanna go back home tonight, so I'll drive this road alone." A short pre-chorus I know, but still nice. The chorus: "Stay alive for the good times, stay alive through the bad. Stay alive for the hopes and the fears and the dreams, the best that we ever had. I keep telling myself I can take you from this God forsaken place, stay alive for the good times. Stay alive through the bad, oh oh oh woah oh, oh oh oh woah oh, oh oh oh woah oh oh. Stay alive. Oh oh oh woah oh, oh oh oh woah oh. Oh oh oh woah oh oh." Telling us to stay alive, and to deal with things as they come. This also reminds us, that the bad times won't last forever. And even if your thoughts are lying to you, tell them to shut up! Also very catchy chorus, and again very upbeat. I really like that. The second verse: "Your fear controls everything, never lets you turn the page. We end up only settling, for when we both felt sane. Reaching out for something, that you can't quite hold on to. Saying goodbye and starting over, when there's nothing left for you." Yup. That's all I have to say about this part. The pre-chorus and chorus repeat, and there's an instrumental part. No bridge, the chorus repeats again, with the last line at the end being "Stay alive." I think that's a great way to end this song, as a last reminder to keep living. Because the song is about holding on for the good days, and making it through the bad ones.

A really helpful and powerful song. That's it for this review, I will see you in the next one. <3

Song 218

 Song 218

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! Today I'm reviewing Off With Her Head by Icon For Hire! They are a punk band from 2011, well actually I would say kind of scene punk as the genre. They still make music to this day, and I think they're really cool. So let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this really nice beat going on. Love the heaviness of the guitar, it sounds really cool. This brings us into the first verse: "I'm lucky if I ever see the light of day again, my skin is choking me, my feeble walls are closing in. This cell is filled with scholars easing me, they're teasing me. They told me so I didn't know the fall would be this easy." I really like the lyrics on this, thought provoking and raw. Just how I like it. The pre-chorus: "How long until it starts to do me in? I can't give out what I'm not breathing in. I know they'll come with what I'm owed, guilty as charged. My enemies belittle me, reminding me the penalty of all my deeds despite my pleas is death." This section here, is said quite fast. I like it though, it still fits in with the melody. The chorus: "I don't let go cause I don't wanna be this, I don't wanna be this. Death is mine I know. I don't let go, don't let go. Save your own, cause I don't wanna be this, I don't wanna be this. Death is mine I know. Don't let go, don't let go. Savior." This chorus is really catchy, and very dance worthy. I also love Ariel's vocals. (She's the lead singer) They're really nice on this track. The second verse: "Your way to life has only showed me what a fool I am, it serves the purpose of confirming I remain condemned. And I will ever linger on the edge, unless you hear me." Beautiful, and powerful all at the same time. Music should make you feel something, when real people connect us with our emotions in songs, that's how you know it's a good one. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat, and there's no bridge. Just a little electronic sounding voice modification on the chorus after this really cool instrumental part. Then the chorus repeats a final time, with a little bit of an outro. And also the last note is drawn out, which sounds awesome! Then the instrumental fades out. The music video is also pretty cool, and you should check that out as well.

That's it for this review, I hope you consider checking it out. Both the song and the music video, and I will see you all next time! RAWR <3

song 217

 Song 217

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back! Today I have another song by Fatehartt! One of my favourite people to write for! This song is called fxking dread feat.Bisdonk. Now I have no idea who that other guy is, but I do like his voice! I think both of their voice blend very well on this track! So let's get into it!

No intro, the song pretty much starts right away. So we'll start with the first verse: "The hole you left in my heart, got me wasted from the start. The hole you left in my head, got me wishing I was dead. There's no more tears in my eyes, they've all dried out for every star that dies. And I know life's not fair, from the times that you weren't there." So very emotional, and raw. I love songwriting like this! It's amazing! Musically this song is very soft, while also being heavy. The soft tones and melody really add to the theme of this song, and the story that is being conveyed. The chorus: "So many questions running through my head, so many answers that are left unsaid. You raze me down till all I see is red, so bleed me dry until I'm f***** dead." The emotional torment in this song, is something else. The vocals on this are also very soft, and heavy at the same time. The second verse: "The void you left the f***** dread, the pain you left in my f***** head. Stuffed it deep inside my heart, got my mental torn apart. These f**** tears in my eyes. Thought they dried out when the stars had died, you told me life's not fair. F**** my brains like you don't care." Holy crud, I can feel the pain in this song. The angst is just so freaking good, and so deep I could swim in it. There's no doubt in my mind, that Fatehartt is not talented, this man not only has my heart, but has my respect. The chorus repeats again, with no bridge. But there is an outro. "Ooh I feel the pain, I feel insane. Like tear drops in the rain, fade away another passing day." This is just pure perfection, raw emotional songwriting at it's finest! :)

Ya'll should go check out this masterpiece, and I will see you in the next one! :) RAWR <3

song 133 Redo

 Song 133-Redo

Hey everyone, you may be confused about the number here. Well I am redoing song 133 because that song was an AI generated song. I didn't know it at the time, I was skeptical. It was hard for me to figure out it was. But looking back, I realized that it was an AI song. I should've known, because there was hardly any information about the artist. So now, I am making up for this mistake. And I am replacing it with an actual song, by an actual human. The song is We Don't Have To Dance by Andy Black (which is Andy Biersack from BVB solo name) I don't think I've ever reviewed this song before, so I figured this was a good one to do. I just want you all to know, this is not what this blog is about, I don't support AI artists at all. I just got scammed, and I was unsure. But now I know, and I will never review an AI song again. So without further adieu, let's get into this real song!

Starting with the intro, we have this popping sound. I like it, sounds unique. This is then accompanied by guitar, bass. Leading us into the first verse: "Record scratch, Steve Miller Band. Tattooed necks and tattooed hands. Oh, how don't you drown in a rainstorm? Fresh regrets, vodka sweats. The sun is down and we're bound to get, exhausted and so far from the shore." I'm not sure what is being implied here, so I'll just continue on. The pre-chorus: "You're never gonna get it, I'm a hazard to myself. I'll break it to easy. This is hell, this is hell. You're looking and whispering, you think I'm someone else. This is hell, yes. Literal hell." Okay now this part, is talking about how we're our own worst enemy sometimes. And how we can be in our own personal hells, within our minds especially. The chorus: "We don't have to talk, we don't have to dance. We don't have to smile, we don't have to make friends. It's so nice to meet you, let's never meet again. We don't have to talk, we don't have to dance. We don't have to dance." Coming from my own struggles with social situations, I relate to this part. I have bad social anxiety, it comes from being autistic. So I get what is being said here, it's why I avoid certain social events. The second verse: "Bottles smash, I raise my hand. How can you all even stand it, why is there joy in this poison? Oh. Faking smiles and confidence, driving miles to capture this excitement. I can't take anymore, oh." I really love the vocals on this song, and honestly Andy's voice is smooth like butter. Plus I also love the melody, it's very catchy. And even though the song is called We Don't Have To Dance, it makes me want to dance. Lol. The pre-chorus changes slightly, near the end of it. "This is hell, yes. I am in hell." This part is confirming, that he's going through a lot. The chorus repeats again, with this awesome instrumental part. The blare of the electric, is pure perfection. There's no bridge, but there is a part when the chorus repeats, Andy holds a note for a little longer. It sounds awesome! Then near the end, the word "talk" is repeated, and the more it repeats the quieter Andy's voice gets. I like that it's his voice fading out, with the outro. It's a nice touch. A really great song, and the music video is pretty good too. If you want to check that out!

That's it for this redo! I hope you all like it, and I will continue on with my current content moving forward. See you next time! :)
