song 178

 Song 178

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! I actually have some new material for you all today. The song is Lose Your Way & Find Yourself by As It Is! A new song from them! It's really good, so is the music video. So let's get into it!

Beginning with the intro, we have some nice strumming from an acoustic guitar. Very calming. Which brings us straight into the first verse: "I took a lot of time, to get a little bit steady. Cause when the high runs out, it's a long way down with a heart so heavy. I made a few hard changes, is this what being brave is?" I related to this song because of the message, which I will discuss in the chorus section. I just think it's very raw of Patty to express what he's been dealing with through this song, and it might inspire other people to do the same. The chorus: "Cause I never felt so brave, that January day I asked for help. You'll never be okay, until you lose your way and you find yourself." That last part is very true, I lost myself and I have been working to find the pieces of me that were lost. One thing I've let myself do is stim freely, it's been very liberating for me. Next is the second verse: "You're going to chase some dreams, and leave them in your twenties. You're going to let it hurt, cause it's how you're going to learn you're enough already. It all looks like madness, too close to the canvas." You do need to let yourself hurt, because whatever you went through was rough. I have some emotional trauma I'm working out, and I need to let myself hurt. I need to feel the pain, in order to get better. I know some people go numb, or get angry or whatever. But please don't be ashamed to feel, because your emotions are valid. Which includes anger. The chorus repeats, with an added verse. "So I'm screaming at the pain to go the f*** away, and haunt somebody else." There are days when it feels like this. The bridge: "There's a light on the other side, this time I don't wanna die. There's a light on the other side, this time I don't wanna die. There's still some spark in me yeah, there's still some spark in us yeah." This is absolutely true, no matter how much you're hurting, or how dark you may feel. There's always a light side to every situation. Patty's vocals have been really great all throughout this song, and I'm really happy that they're all back together. The part after the bridge, is a repeat of the verse first, slowed down. Then the chorus repeats, with some amped up vocals. There isn't really an outro, so I guess I'll end it there.

That's it for this review, I really hope you consider checking this out. And please feel free to check out the music video as well, it's really great. (Spoiler) you can see the emotion in everyone's faces, especially Patty. I love that. See you in the next one!
