Song 110
Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! Thank goodness, January is almost over. This month has gone on way too long! I'm really looking forward to the warmer months coming, and just being done with this month. I have another The Used song today, (sorry if you're sick of me reviewing their songs) I've been obsessed with them lately. I really like this song, I thought it would be good for Valentine's Day. I like to give people options for love songs. So this song doesn't have an intro, it just goes straight into the first verse: "Cut yourself in conversation, cut the line to make me feel alive. Cause you know I'm not alive. And leave me with your complications, take your life you feel like taking mine. Leaving God we stand in line, not alone." This might me too in depth for me to analyze, so I will hand that over to you readers. Next is the pre-chorus/chorus because I feel like they are one in the same here. "Nowhere to go, I'm not leaving, not going. I'm not kissing you goodbye. On my own, I'm nothing, just bleeding. I'm not kissing you goodbye." This is where the love part of this song comes in, and I find it really romantic. And also kind of Romeo and Juliet, which was kind of ridiculous. But I don't think that's what they were going with this. Basically he's saying that he's never letting go of someone, and the thought of it is tearing him up inside. Next is the second verse: "Trust to take the right to leave me, waiting on the dark clouds for the rain. Praying lightning strikes the change, as history gets lost. An as I took that final breath I felt alive. Leading God to stand in line, all alone." I'm not sure how to analyze this part. There's no bridge on this track, but there is some extra lines. But I wouldn't really call it a bridge, because I think the melody stays the same there. Instead of changing, because with bridges the melody either shifts or slows down. Here's the extra lines: "Don't let me go, don't say goodbye. Don't let this love die. Don't let me go, don't say goodbye." Now I can feel his pain here, I've been there. I still think it could be a good love song for Valentine's Day it just depends on the couple. Personally I would love this, but that's just me. Everyone has different music tastes, and that's fine. I do hope I have convinced you to at least check this song out :)
See you in the next one
