song 111

 Song 111

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog. I have a different band for you all today, I found them on accident. But I thought I would review one of their songs, because some people might have forgotten about them. I think they are one of those underground emo bands, that maybe were popular for a short while then got buried in the mystical, musical dimension of forgotten bands. So I am bringing them back from the dead, even though they had an album come out for the first time in a while back in 2020. This is one of their older songs. Without further adieu, today's song is Back To Go Again by Framing Hanley. This song I believe is pop punk related, because of the lighter sound it has. But still really good, because I love pop punk. The intro to this is kind of short, so I won't get into that. Instead I'll just bring us right in to the first verse: "Is this really open to discuss, maybe we should hang it up. We were so close, they said we were so far. Well we swore by now we'd have them wowed, but we're still stuck in this race. With hopes and dreams undone, when did we stop having fun?" It sounds like, they lost a connection with someone. Whatever happened in the past, caused them to drift apart. At least that's how I see it. There's only one line of the pre-chorus: "We got lost somewhere they're not in." Not really sure what that means, so let's move on to the chorus: "Do you remember when, we said it would never end. We won't go back down, this time around. Stop where you are and wish, little things couldn't kill this. Count down from ten, we could be back to go again." I think this part is about wanting to start over, make up for what happened. It might not be the same again, but if both people are willing to try. I think that's worth it. The second verse: "Maybe we started phoning it in, but then again the numbers didn't quite make sense. They don't lie. Give me a thousand lies, and this isn't a song about candy. But we're still suckers all the same. They fell for your lies, each and every time." I like that candy line, that was very clever. I guess this explains what happened between them. One was a liar. The bridge/outro: "Time is like a bullet train, headed off the tracks. It's never coming back, so let's grab this while we can. It's all in our hands. Do you remember when, do you remember when, do you remember when? We said it would never end, we won't back down. This time around, stop where you are and trust. Little things couldn't kill this, count down from ten. We could be back to go again." I like how the bridge and the outro are linked, I think that's an interesting way to wrap up a song. So yeah, just a really interesting song. A band that I never heard of, and was possibly lost to time. I call that a success hehe :)

If you have heard of this band before, I hope I brought back some nostalgia for you. And if you're like me and never knew them, I hope I convinced you to check them out. See you next time :)
