Song 209
Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! Today's song is The Outsider by Black Veil Brides! (Yes I'm doing another one of their songs, don't judge me lol) So let's get into it!
Starting with the intro, we have this slow burn with the guitar and the drums. It sounds really cool. Then we move into a more, heavier sound, with the beat sped up a little bit. This all leads us into the first verse: "This wall of stone that they've built to cage our minds, grip the gun of changing times like no one's home. They will burn down every bridge, spread the word of ignorance, fall blind to your eyes. Forget the innocent." I feel like this could be about the government. The chorus: "Say a prayer every night, all we hear must be right. I am the outsider. Living life for the end, nothing left to defend. I am the outsider." Although, this chorus has me believing that it could be about being different, and not really conforming to what society says. The second verse: "Anoint the hope that just wishing for the past, like bringing Christ back from the ash could save the world. They have risen for the sins, of missing why we can't begin and not end this time." I don't have anything to say about this part, other than Andy's vocals are really good here. The chorus repeats, with a little instrumental part. There's no bridge really, just another repetition of the chorus. Before it repeats a final time, with a little bit of an outro. I think the concept of "outsider" means someone who doesn't fit in. Someone who lives their life the way they want to, without worrying what anyone else thinks. I also really love how this song is arranged, it has a catchy beat and melody. And of course the vocals are on point, and the instrumental is always amazing with these guys.
I hope you go check this song out, if you haven't already. :)
