song 207

 Song 207

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog!!! Today I am reviewing the new Black Veil Brides song! Certainty! Let's get into it!

Starting with the intro, we have this heavy bass and drum combo. I love it! They have deffinately gone back to a more heavier sound. Which I think is awesome! After the intro we move into the first verse: "So certain every day you have found the perfect way, to guard the lions from the slaughter you have started. And thank God you never say what you're never meant to say, with iron might you drink up all your sorrows." Always such deep songwriting from these guys! It's awesome! And I feel like they have a nice mix of the old and new in this song, similar to Hallelujah. There's two pre-chorus like sections, this is one of them: "Fame is the torch you burn, you decide who shines." And this part is also screamed! Love when they add the screams. I also like this line, saying how just because you might be famous, doesn't mean that you shouldn't be grateful to how you got there. The chorus: "You were lost and I have tried to save. (You were, you were) But something I said has made me the other. Certain of the price that I should pay. (You were, you were) All of my pride and fear at the altar." Andy's voice is so smooth on the chorus, it flows so naturally with everything. Along with the backing vocals from the other guys, everything blends really well together. Then there's an instrumental part. This is then followed up by the second verse: "I retrace now, every countdown. And my mind clicks like heart beats, do you want to cut my tongue out? Serve it up and silence me. You're not the answer to the question, I am not the savior you thought I'd be. Even still I wonder, do you hear me when you remember that I bleed?" So this whole section is just the verse, there's no other pre-chorus. These lyrics are so profound! So deep I could swim in them! Also this whole verse is screamed! The chorus than repeats, and there's a small bridge: "And now I know that there's something brighter, I just can't see. (Let it go)" That's kind of how I've felt recently, this month feels like it's just been dragging on and on. And it's been so gloomy outside, and I've felt some despair. But I know there's brighter days on the horizon. There's an instrumental part after the bridge, then the chorus repeats a final time. With some changes in the words "You were lost, and I have tried to save. (You were, you were) But something I said has made me the other, certain of the price you'll never pay. (you were, you were) And all of my pride and fear will take me down." The "down" is dragged out by a low scream. And that's how the song ends. It's very auditory pleasing, and the music video was absolute cinema! Please go check that out as well! I can't wait for the new album!

And that's it for this review, I really hope you go give it a listen! I'll see you in the next one! RAWR XD <3 :p
