song 104

 Song 104

Hello everyone! It's a new week so that means, I have a new track to review! Today's song is Hate Me (Sometimes) by Stand Atlantic! I am so sorry Stand Atlantic I didn't know you guys were Australian, I thought you were from the UK. You guys are a great band, and I love your work. Ok on with the review. So with this song, we have some talking parts in the intro. Just a random word, I like that I think it's fun. So here it is: "Spaghetti, spaghetti" Hehe I think it's funny how that's in there. On to the first verse: "Oh, where did I go wrong? Limbs in a noose, thought I'd be better. But I'm written off to tell you the truth, dead in the water. Carry me home, get off on whiplash. I'm losing myself red and I'm blue. I set fires so deliberately, till I taste the smoke. On every part of me, my hands are promised to my dirty jeans. But I would sell myself to almost anything." Ok, I feel like there's some self degrading in here. Which is interesting, because through most of this song. The music is very upbeat and dancey, but it has deep lyrics. It's actually a really cool contrast. The pre-chorus: "I don't need your help, you should probably save yourself. There's blood on my hands, you should probably save yourself." I think here, they're talking about telling other people to get help for their problems. Instead of realizing they're the ones who need help. The chorus: "I think I like the way you hate me sometimes, hate me sometimes. Take it back. You come and go just like the bones I'm breaking, bones I'm breaking. Take it back. I think I like the way you hate me sometimes." This feels kind of masochist to me, but there is probably a deeper meaning to this. I'll leave that up to you to figure out. Second verse: "Give me a moment, and cut me loose. Buried in my bed, cause all of this is dim. I set fires so deliberately, till I taste the smoke. On every part of me, and I can't swallow what you threw at me." It almost seems like it's coming from a depressed person. Or someone who doesn't want to bring people down with them. I could be wrong, but that's how I see it. The bridge on this track is kind of strange, it kind of bleeds out from the chorus. But here's the bridge anyway: "I don't need your help, you should probably save yourself. Cause there's blood on my hands, it's hanging over my head. Take it back, take it back. Take it back, take it back. Take it back, take it back. I think we're shaking the room, there's nothing left to hold on to. Take it back, take it back. Maybe we're stuck in the dark, it doesn't matter I'm see through." I will leave this for what it is, and let you all decide what it's about. So as the song is coming to a close, there's a line here "Cause there's blood on my hands, it's hanging over my head!" This is like a last bang, before the song slows down. In a soft tone, Bonnie (the lead singer) brings the track down. I like how songs go from super hyped up, to slow and beautiful. I think you all should check out this song, and their other songs too. I reviewed a couple of their songs before, and this band has really good tracks.
