song 49

 Song 49

Hello everybody! Happy New Year! I am so glad last year is over, I am just looking forward now, and continuing to find myself again. It's a fresh start! I am getting back into my blogging, starting with tonight's song-Caraphernelia by Pierce the Veil. (can you believe I've almost done 50 song reviews?!) this song is very cool to listen to, I love the lyrics and the instrumentals on this track. Also Vic Fuentes has a crazy voice in the best possible way! "What if I can't forget you? I'll burn your name into my throat, I'll be the fire that'll catch you." I really like their lyric writing style, a lot of their songs feel like they're speaking right to you. "What's so good about picking up the pieces? What if I don't even want to?" That part in particular really got to me because of what happened last year, I love when there's songs people can personally relate to. I also love the screaming parts on this track, they are so freaking good! The outro of this song really makes you wonder, "what's so good about picking up the pieces? (what's so good about, what's so good about) "what's so good about picking up the pieces?" The song ends on the question. I believe that means it's open to interpretation from the listeners, for me I think they're talking about piecing your heart back together. Which is what I have been doing, putting myself back together. I've always found broken hearts to be tragically beautiful, even my own. Because even though the heart is broken, it's not gone. So to answer the question in this song, I would say what's good about picking up the pieces is the fact you still have a heart that can be healed.

That is it for my first song review of the year! I hope I persuaded some of you to check out this song if you haven't already, I promise you won't be disappointed. Especially if you love punk rock music like me, or if you are a new pierce the veil fan and are looking for recommendations. I hope you get the chance to check out this review, it means the world to me when people read my stuff. There is much more to come with this blog, so stay tuned. Be Kind, Be generous, Be unique, Be different, and always be yourself :) Until next time RAWR

Song 48

 Song 48

Hello everyone! OMG Christmas is so close! Yesterday was emo day, and I hope all my fellow emos had a good day :) Today's song is Yule Shoot your Eye Out by Fallout Boy! This Christmas song has totally made me think of my break up, and how I do not want to see them again. Plus I just really love the melody of this song, it's soft and easy listening. "Don't come home for Christmas, you're the last thing I wanna see underneath the tree. Merry Christmas I could care less." Yeah my ex broke up with me before Christmas, pretty cruddy right? But I know that we broke up for a reason, and I know it's not the end of the world. I hope that one day I'll find a boyfriend who treats me right, and is actually willing to talk to me. Back to the song, I love the lyrics, and the theme. I can totally picture someone on the phone with their ex, saying how "you hurt me, I don't want you here, please don't come home." Then their ex would probably say "Please forgive me, I know I made a mistake. Can we just spend Christmas together?" Then the other person is like "Merry Christmas I could care less" then they hang up. I love when songs tell stories, and they make you feel like you're experiencing that story.

Well that just about does it for this review. This may be my last song review of the year, it has been a crazy time. I started this blog back in November of 2022, and now here I am almost 50 songs in! I can not tell you how much it has meant to me that people actually read these. I appreciate all of my readers, I hope to continue in the new year! Have a safe, and happy Holidays everyone :)

song 47

 Song 47

Hello my fellow music lovers, Happy December! and Happy Holidays to you all! :)

Today's song is (drum roll) Phone Call with the Reaper by End in Sight! "woo" "yay" lol

anyway, this song is really cool. I love the melody, and the lyrics. It has this electric kind of sound to it, which makes me think of some scene songs I've heard. I like how it's a different take on emo music, the lead singer Brandon is so cool. I love their look, and his voice is really soothing. This is the chorus. "I'm on a phone call with the reaper, I don't think that I should see her. Cause she's a walking red flag, but red's my favourite colour, and we look good on each other. I'm on a phone with the reaper, with the reaper." The message this song is conveying to me anyway, is that sometimes we're attracted to people who hurt us. Hence the line "she's a walking red flag, but red's my favourite colour." So maybe this is like a second chance type of situation, but I'm not one hundred percent sure. Just a really fun song, easy listening, you should check it out. The outro on this song, I love so much. Brandon gets really low on the last repeat of the chorus, which makes for a nice deep effect for how to end the song. It pulls you back in, and it's really fun to act out while lip synching along (I speak from experience hehe)

Well that's it for this one, I have a lot more songs I want to review. Stay tuned for them, and until next time. Keep being you, and if no one has told you this: I'm proud of you, the journey you're on maybe long and tiring, but you're doing the best you can. and that's always something to happy about. Take care of yourselves and others. :) oh and hug someone, hugs make things better.

song 46

 Song 46

Hello everyone welcome back to music reviews! How is everyone? I have another Set It Off song for you all, It's called Punching Bag! This song is so sick! Like I love it so much, and I can't get enough of it. "So say goodbye to your mister nice guy, you got your wish he's rotting in hell. I'm up all night, when you think I'm sleeping, people pleasing's never good for your health. So go **** yourself." the melody is just so good, and the instrumentals are perfect. The intro to this is unique, kind of like an opening to a movie. It's one of those songs you listen to when your mad, and need to let your feelings out. I think this song is about an abusive relationship, I mean the song is called punching bag. They talk about how they want to make you feel as broken as they are, so I think that would imply that the person is mean. But I just like how this one is laid out, near the end there's clapping, trying to get the listeners to sing along with them. I love when songs have that feature, I'm wondering if Set it off has a new album coming out soon, because they also have a song called Evil People, and then this song Punching Bag. It makes me feel like these two songs would be on an album together, because of the themes. Maybe they do have a new album coming out and these songs are a preview of it. If that's the case I will be on a lookout for that album, because I think there's more to the story here. Anyway, really great song for letting out those pent up emotions. A great break up song as well.

Hope you all have a good day, and I hope you check this song out :)

Album Edition 5

 Album Edition 5

Hello music lovers! Welcome back to music reviews, today I have something special. It's another album review! Yay! I'm doing a little better, still not healed completely, but I'm looking forward now. This album has really been helping me, and you will see why. The album I am reviewing today is Duality by Set It Off! I've been listening to set it off a lot, and their music has really been a great way for me to think about moving forward.

Track 1. The Haunting. This is the opening track for this album, and it's an amazing first track! The instrumentals are soooo good, I especially love the guitar and the drums. "Love's so alive, but died in it's sleep. And now that it's dead, I live in your head and I will haunt your f****ing dreams." "No one will love you like I did, will treat you like I did. So go on, wear that scarlet letter." "No one will love you like I did, will touch you like I did. So good luck finding something better." Aren't these lyrics just perfect? and singing this song is so therapeutic.

Track 2. N.M.E which stands for No More Excuses. The intro of this is really cool, it has this like creepy child's chorus like from a horror movie. All the instrumentals on this album are just dead on, and sound amazing together. "You should escape, skip town, no more excuses. Abandon ship, or drown, no more excuses do you even have a plan of attack." "a way to react, oh no, you should escape. Skip town, you're better on your own." As much as I hate feeling alone sometimes, I have interpreted this song to mean that you don't need someone to be happy.

Track 3. Forever Stuck in Our Youth. This track is unique sound wise, like it doesn't sound like anything I've heard before. Also the singing in this band is just phenomenal, the dude has such a neat  voice. "we're young, we're young, we're dumb and we don't care. No and I don't owe you an explanation, we're young, we're young, we're dumb and we don't care. Forever stuck in our youth." This song is talking about how when you're young you make mistakes and sometimes you don't care. But you also learn and grow when you're young, and that makes you a better person.

Track 4. Why Worry. I love this song, I think it's really fun. The intro reminds me of another song that has a similar intro, that song is Stutter by Marianas Trench. Both tracks have this hand clapping beat as an intro. It's a neat way to start a song. I like the melody, it's really upbeat. "please tell me why do we worry? Why, why do we worry at all. Why , just tell me why do we worry, when worry's never helping." That's true, why do we worry about things? It's never helped us, worrying only makes us panicked. I have a hard time not worrying about things sometimes, I get inside my head and I lose control of my thoughts sometimes, which turns into worry. This song is telling us to just breathe, and to know things will be ok.

Track 5. Ancient History. This is probably one of my favourite tracks on this album, I love it so much and really spoke to me. "I know I know how to drive you wild, you know you know how to make me smile, but I need you to be my ancient history." "I know I know, who you really are, you know you know how to break my heart. But I need you to be, my ancient history." This song is talking about moving on, and to leave someone in the past. And as hard as it is, these lyrics have really helped me. Plus the melody is so much freaking fun! This is a great healing song.

Track 6. Bleak December. It has this sort of chopping melody that makes you just want to tap your foot, and nod your head. "How do you even sleep at night, as I drive and drive. In that bleak December, you're just too cold but I need the answer, before you'd fold." "you would hold your cards inside your chest, I think I drove too far for that bleak December." I think that means he went too far with his feelings or something, or maybe he loved too hard and ended up getting hurt in the end. Something we can all relate to in some way I'm sure.

Track 7. Duality. This is the same as the album title. I like how this one is arranged, it starts off kind of slow, but with the chorus in the intro as well as throughout the song. Which I think is pretty cool. "I can't quite contain, or explain my evil ways. Or explain why I'm not sane, all I can say is this is your warning. I can't quite contain, or explain my evil ways. Or why I'm not sane, all I can say is is this is your warning. Duality." He's saying how, not everyone is perfect, and that we're all human. Sometimes we don't always need to be perfect all the time, we just need to be us and we mess up. But messing up is apart of life. Because that's what being alive is about.

Track 8. Wolf in Sheep's Clothing (feat. William Beckett) I always want to make sure featured artists are recognized. This track is really good! It's kind of a revenge song, "Tell me how you're sleeping easy, how you're only thinking of yourself. Tell me how you justify, telling all your lies like second nature, listen mark my words one day. You will pay, you will pay." "Karma's gonna come collect your debt." Talking about how actions have consequences, and how the things you do can come back to haunt you. I like the meaning of this song, because it teaches us how careful we need to be sometimes. You never know what can happen.

Track 9. Tomorrow (feat. Jason Lancaster) This track is perfect for working to feel ok again. "They're gonna try to clip your wings, lock you up and make you sing. But they'll never cage your dreams so fly away." "cause we've got tomorrow, we're the pages in the wind, we've got tomorrow. We're the tale that lies within, there's always another day, another night, a bittersweet blessing in disguise." "tomorrow, we're be the authors of our lives tomorrow." This song is talking about always looking toward the future, and how there's always another day on the horizon. It also talks about how you should go after your dreams, no matter what people say. Also we're the ones who write our own stories, we're the only ones who can shape our lives. And live how we want to, not how someone else wants to.

Track 10. Bad Guy. This song has a dance feel to it, which I appreciate as a dancer. But it also has this nice wholesome vibe to it. "I stole the moon, I made the stars align, I showed you how to fly. and you made me the bad guy." "I fought for you, I kept you safe at night. I would have risked my life, and you made me the bad guy." This explains how, he did all these things for someone but in the end they made him seem like the one who wasn't good. Sometimes even though we try hard to make things work, they don't always. He doesn't see what he did wrong, because he would have done anything for this person. But it wasn't enough.

Track 11. Miss Mysterious. The final track on this album! This song has really been helping me heal, the message in this one is really good. "I said go, run for your life, and tell me I'm right." "Or let me know when your heart went numb, I said go, run for your life." "and tell me I'm right the saying goes, if you love someone let them go." The melody is really nice and soothing which is perfect for a healing song, and it's true sometimes even though you love someone so much, you have to let them go. That's what I'm trying to do, it might not be forever. Maybe we will find our way back to each other again, but for now I need to move on and let them go.

That's it for this review! I hope you check out this amazing album, and other stuff from set it off because they are such a good band, I love their music a lot. Until next time everyone.

song 45

 Song 45

Hello my fellow music lovers, I have some sad news. I recently got my heart broken, it hurts a lot they were my first love. I still miss him a lot, but I'm not gonna bash them or anything. Because that's not who I am, they actually are a good person. Just doesn't know how to be in relationships, at least romantic ones anyway. Maybe one day we could be friends eventually, it will just take some time. I wish them the best though. One of the ways I've been healing is music, it's always been there for me. This particular song, I sang out loud and it felt really good to get all these feelings out. The song is Because of You by Kelly Clarkson. I chose this break up song because I felt like it explained how I'm feeling right now, "because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk, because of you I learned to stay on the safe side so I don't get hurt, because of you I find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me. Because of you, I am afraid." I am afraid, I'm afraid to trust anyone again. I'm scared to get close to someone again, it's really hard for me to trust people. I have a hard time letting people in, and I feel like everyone I get close to leaves. But I'm a fighter, I'm gonna get through this. I won't show my face for awhile, I'm just not ready. But I will be writing for a bit, because writing has always been therapeutic to me. So be on the look out for more of these. This song is perfect for getting out your emotions, and letting go. I also love Kelly's voice, and the tone is very soft. The lyrics really speak to me, it's just an overall great song.

I hope you consider checking it out. Thank you.

Song 44

 Song 44

Hi my fellow music lovers! It's a new month, and Christmas is coming up so that's exciting! Today's song is Nobody's Home by Avril Lavigne, and she is someone I listened to when I was a child. Back then I only knew like three songs by her, but now I know a lot more. This song I listened to last night, I especially loved the lyrics on this one. They really spoke to me, because it took me back to high school and how I felt invisible, I felt like I didn't belong anywhere. "too many, too many problems. Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs." Exactly how I felt. I'm still not totally healed from that I guess, even now I still get really lonely sometimes. What I love about Avril's songs is how deep they are, and you can really tell how much emotion she puts into her work, and how she sings with so much passion. Plus I also like the instrumentals on a lot of her tracks, they just work so well with the lyrics. Avril is an amazing song writer, sure she hasn't been perfect but the woman is talented. I love her style as well, especially like the early 2000s looks she had, with the tie and skater clothes. (especially the high top sneakers, I freaking love those.) Nobody's home I feel is about a girl who has felt like she doesn't have anywhere to go. "she wants to go home, but nobody's home." She doesn't have anyone who she can talk to, or who's there for her. And because of how this song is arranged you feel the pain of this girl's story. I love how music does that.

Well that's it for this one, take care everyone. :)

song 251

Song 251 Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! Today I am reviewing Incantantion by The Howling! I don't think I...
