Song 64
Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! This is my last song review for May, and I am very excited for next month! For today's song we have another acoustic one! I have chosen, Massachusetts (acoustic) by Silverstein! Who are Canadian like me! Hehe, okay so I love this band's acoustic songs, they are done so well. They're lead singer can really sing, that's why I love acoustic versions because I feel like you can really hear people. And feel their emotions shining through. I love the soft tone of the acoustic guitar being the star of this song, it's a very easy listening song. Also very catchy melody, gorgeous vocals. I mean he can also scream when he wants to as well, but I like the tone of his voice. It's time for the interpretation part of the song review! I think this song is about leaving an abusive relationship, because here's some of the lyrics: "She'll fantasize about it, every single day but she can't find it in her heart to run away. And no one's listening." Meaning no one is hearing her side of the story, which is so sad. Then the next line goes: "On his knees to stay, he's begging please, oh baby please I can explain. It won't happen again." So maybe it's an abusive relationship with some cheating as well. I think the guy cheated on her, and now she's trying to find the courage to leave him. Oh wait, yeah I was right about the abusive part. Because at the beginning of the song, they mention bruises. "she's cutting out the bruises, forgetting her excuses for being here again." So it's a tragic story, but it's well executed through the music. I like story songs, they make you feel like you're there too. Living every moment with the character.
A really good song, and that's a wrap! I will see you all next month! Bye take care :)
