Song 59

 Song 59

Hello my fellow music nerds! I have another song review for you tonight! But before I get into it, I have some news! I have a crush! Ahhhhh! Only the circumstances are complicated, lol it's an unrequited crush. But still, he's so amazing and put my heart back together. I'm not gonna say his name, I just wanted you all to know I have a crush! And I'm really happy about it :) Okay, on with tonight's song. (drum roll) Broken by Seether Ft. Amy Lee! *gasp* This song is so beautiful! Was released in 2004, (I was a year old lol) we open with a nice little guitar strumming. Then we are immediately hit with the strong raspy vocals, of the person from Seether. I don't know his name, unfortunately. But I really like his voice. This song is off their album called, Disclaimer II. Then on the second verse, in comes Amy with her gorgeous vocals. Their voices blend in perfectly together, I love when that happens. "Cause I'm broken, when I'm lonesome. And I don't feel right, when you're gone away." That is so romantic! My interpretation of this song, is feeling incomplete without someone really special around. Hence the title Broken, feeling like you're falling apart with this person. I think there's some violin action in this song as well, which is really cool. Then the song just fades out, with the end instrumentals. I don't think this song has a bridge, just a first verse, chorus, second verse, then some instrumentals. Then the chorus just repeats a few times. That is totally fine, songs don't always need a bridge! I like how this one is structured. Just a really beautiful song, I highly recommend listening to it. And if you were around when this song came out, maybe it will bring back memories for you!

Until next time everyone! Keep rocking, stay alive, and remember it's ok to ask for help! Bye for now! :) <3 *hugs!*

Song 58

 Song 58

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! Today's song review is Wildfire by Bad Wolves! I recently started listening to them, and this song is so freaking amazing! So here we go, the opening really sucks you in. The melody is soft, then the chorus hits and it's like you're transported! "Wildfire, we keep running away. No one's saving the day, wildfire we keep waiting for rain, we've got only ourselves to blame." I like the point of this song, saying how the only way things are going to change is if we do something about it. That's a good motto to live by, especially nowadays, where it seems like nothing is gonna get better unless we care about what's happening. Plus when this song comes on, you just know that it will put you in the feels. At least for me it does that. The part that says "no one's saving the day" that got me thinking, if no one is saving the day, then you try to save it! Stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves, be a voice for the voiceless, and spread more positivity. There's so much ugliness in the world right now, but I've always found music to be very therapeutic for me. Look what it's doing today, music is making me think about life. Also Bad Wolves are really great musicians, you should check them out.

Well that's about it, I know it's a short one. But that's really all I have to say about this one, keep on the lookout for more of these. I have a lot lined up! Until next time, keep rocking, keep being you, and keep up the good work! :)

Song 57

 Song 57

Hello my fellow music nerds! Welcome back to the blog! Happy April, and Happy Autism awareness month to my fellow autistic people :) Today happens to be Asexuality Day, I myself am a proud Demisexual person! Love being on the ace spectrum, and everyone else who is also on the ace spectrum I hope you have a great day, and remember you are loved and valid :)

Before I start my song review for today, I just want to properly thank you to the 18 people who read my last post! I cannot express how much it means to me, thank you from the bottom of my heart! <3

Okay on with today's song, we have Carolyn by Black Veil Brides! (the crowd cheers) This song is so beautiful, I love the softness of this melody, and the message. We open with a nice strumming of the guitars, both acoustic and electric it sounds like. Then we're hit with the drums, blending nicely. "You're not alone, and we'll brave this storm." I love these lyrics, they mean so much to me. I'll be real with you all, it gets really lonely where I live. I don't really have anyone locally I hang out with, and I feel alone a lot. Songs like this remind me that I'm not as alone as I feel sometimes, and there's someone out there for you. This song is also talking about how, you don't have to face your problems by yourself. We can do this together, is what they're saying. I love that message, it keeps me going most days. I love black veil brides, they have really good songs, and really good song writing. They're lyrics are always so uplifting, and have great messages in them. And to anyone else who feels lonely, I want you to know that it has nothing to do with you. You are amazing, and if people can't see that then it's their loss. We are not alone, because we do have someone in our lives that sees us, and makes us feel like we matter. Even if they're far away, we know they have our backs. Plus music is always on our sides, I know for me it's always been there.

That sums up this review, I hope you enjoyed this one! Once again thank you all so much for reading these posts, I love you all. I hope you're all doing well, and staying healthy :) *hugs* for everyone <3 I'll see you in the next review :)

Song 56

 Song 56

Today I am going to be honoring my part of the world, and doing a review of a song by a fabulous Canadian band known as Silverstein! The song I am doing today is Misery! I know it's a bit of a downer title, but I really love this song. And you will find out why :) It's a very soft song, and it's one of their newest songs as well. Off their latest album, Misery Made Me. "And if I fall apart torn and scarred, can I find myself? And if I can't restart, light the dark. Will this ever heal? I won't be and I won't feel alone, anymore. And I won't let the sea swallow me, I can find my peace in misery." Such a beautiful song, that last line he's saying that he's made peace with his feelings. It may take some time to heal, but he knows he'll be okay. I just really love the tone of this song, and the melody. As well as the soft vocals he's portraying here, it's all so amazing. I can't really pinpoint the instruments on this track, I'm pretty sure there's an acoustic guitar being used. But I feel like there's some backing music as well, only I'm not sure what it is. Other than that, I still really love this song. I usually like to interpret the songs I review, and this one is no different. The way I interpret this track, is how healing from anything is a process. It's saying how sometimes you need to hurt for awhile before things become better, "I can find my peace in misery" that to me is saying we can find solace in dark, and melancholy. But that doesn't mean it will last forever, healing from anything takes a long time. Everyone processes their emotions differently, as well as how they choose to heal. That's a great thing, and I love how a song is able to capture that. Of course this is just my interpretation, I know other people will have their own, and that's okay. Music is supposed to do that, it's supposed to make us feel things. No matter what the interpretation, as long as you felt something from the song that's what matters.

Okay, that wraps this up! I hope you check out Silverstein, and this song. I promise you won't regret it! Thank you for the constant support of this blog, it means the world to me. There have been so many times when I felt like giving up on this, but when I see people actually see these posts. I smile so big, it makes me so happy. And I hope I inspire you all to check out more music, as well as the artists who makes these lovely masterpieces. Have a great day/evening/afternoon/night love you all <3

Song Construction

 Song Construction

Hello everyone :) Welcome back to the blog, doing something a little different today. I am going to be telling you all about song construction! Okay to begin with, a typical song is divided up into different parts. You have verse 1, chorus, verse 2, chorus, bridge, chorus, end. Now this is not the case for a lot of songs, this layout is basically the blueprint of a song. Some songs can look like this: Intro, verse 1, pre-chorus, chorus, verse 2, pre-chorus, bridge, chorus, outro. Now I know what you might be thinking, what is a pre-chorus? Well a pre-chorus is the introduction of the chorus, setting up the song to hit. Intros are what hooks the listeners in, sometimes they're instrumental and sometimes there's lyrics. Then an outro is the closing part of the song, and again that can be instrumental or have lyrics. A bridge, is the part of the song that's right in the middle. It breaks up the song, and joins the intro and the outro together as well as the chorus. And verses are the chunks of the song that has the most lyrics, and the most emotion. Some songs don't even a have a bridge, for example Crush by David Archuleta doesn't have a bridge. The chorus just repeats, but it's slowed down a bit before it picks up tempo again. Now if you want a song with a really good bridge I recommend More Than Anything from Hazbin Hotel. That whole song is beautiful, but the bridge is really cool. "All that I'm hoping, now that my eyes are open. Is that we can start again, not be pulled apart again." Love it! Sometimes there's a pre-bridge, almost like a third verse. I like that, it adds dimension to a song. Musical numbers typically have multiple verses, because of how long they are. Plus there's also talking in between the singing parts sometimes. Music is so diverse, the way you can mix and match melodies and how songs are created. It's amazing! Then you have songs that don't even have outros, the song just stops after the last note. Sometimes that can drive me crazy, because it can feel unfinished. So when I sing those songs I add my own outro to them hehe, just a little extra flare to the song. It's nothing that artist did, that's just how my brain works. Another thing that can happen, during a chorus or a verse is lyric switching. For example Sign Of Life by Motionless in White, in the first occurrence of the chorus, it goes "You fall away into the light, where numbness and pain are synchronized." But in the first repeat, we have a lyric change. "Too far away to cut the ties." Then the last time it repeats, it has the the original lyrics "You fall away into the light." But then it repeats again, only this time it says: "So pull me close and twist the knife, and drag me to hell with heaven's lies." I actually like when this happens, because then you have more lyrics. You have more meaning into the song, especially when it's really good song writing. Motionless in White are some of the best song writers I've ever seen, I love their work. There you have it, song construction isn't all cut and paste. I love it so much!

I hope you could learn something from this, I'm not an expert by any means. This is just my personal analysis of how songs are made, I also look at the lyrics on my music app. Then I see how the songs are laid out and just go from there. I like writing informational posts every now and then, I hope you like this one! :) <3

Song 55

 Song 55

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog, hope everyone had a good week! I hope you all have a good weekend, and enjoy yourselves. Today's song is If It Means A Lot To You by A Day To Remember! Let's go! This song is so beautiful, and I also find it fun to dance to. Even though it's a bit of a slower song, I can still groove to it. I believe this song is done on the acoustic guitar, with backing instrumentals throughout the song. A romantic track as well, there's another voice on this track. I unfortunately don't know who she is, but I like her voice I think it fits well with the guys. "If you can wait till I get home, then I swear to you. That we can make this last." So sweet, I just really love sweet and romantic songs. They feed my soul and my heart, and they make me imagine the relationship I want in the future. I just know I'm gonna be singing every love song I know to the lucky guy, lol I hope he doesn't mind that I sing 24/7. Anyway, if you close your eyes you can almost see the story the song is portraying. I think this song is about a long distance relationship that didn't last, I can deffinately relate to that. But it wasn't just the distance in my case, there was more to the break up. But that's not why we're here, the reason I think this song is about a failed relationship is because of this line. "You know you can't give me what I need, and even though you mean so much to me. I can wait through everything, is this really happening?" "I swear I'll never be happy again, and don't you dare say we can just be friends." That has me believe that things didn't work out between these two. Even though at the beginning of the song, it seems like everything was fine. It just goes to show, that not everything is as it seems. And even though it may feel right, you know deep down it's wrong. So a very interesting song indeed, great melody, great story, great vocals. A wonderful masterpiece.

And that's a wrap, hope you can check out this track! My next post isn't a song review that I'm planning, what I have in store is a post about the structures of songs. So be on the lookout for that, if you are interested in learning song construction :) And if you don't give this a read, then I'll turn all the pictures in your house upside down hehe ;) have a great day/night/evening/afternoon wherever you are in the world, take care of yourselves. And never give up! *hugs* <3

Song 54

 Song 54

Hello everyone! Happy March, welcome back to my blog!  Hope everyone is having a good week, thank you everyone who saw my last review. I appreciate it so much, yes it was only three of you. But I still love it if anyone reads these at all, it means the world to me. Okay, onto today's song. It's another Motionless in White song, it's called Sign Of Life. Just like with Porcelain, this is off their latest album. When I tell you this is a freaking good song, I am not exaggerating. This song is a flipping masterpiece! And the music video, OMG is it next level! The opening is kind of hard to explain because there is a lot going on, it sounds like the drums and guitar plus another sort of electronic sound all mushed together. But it works well together. They are a metalcore band, so maybe that has something to do with it. Also again with the awesome song writing, I swear this band has such a magical way with lyrics. My favourite part is the chorus, but near the end of the song they switch the lyrics. For example this is the chorus through most of the song: "You fall away into the light, where numbness and pain are synchronized." But when it gets to the outro the lyrics are: "So pull me close and twist the knife, and drag me to hell with heaven's lies." That part for some reason, just scratches an itch in my brain and I love it. This is also part of the chorus: "If there's a grave behind my eyes, then how do the dead find a, find a sign of life?" It's just "chef's kiss" is what the kids say I guess lol. Anyway, have you ever found a song that was so good you wanted to inject it into your veins? That is how I would describe this song! And watching the music video, it really plays well if the story that comes through. Songs are just stories set to music after all. Vocals are killing it as always, Chris has such an amazing voice. And the other guys (I don't know all their names sorry) they have awesome backing vocals, that really ties this whole thing together.

That is it for this review, I hope you check it out. Please do yourselves a favor and check out the music video as well, I promise it is so worth it! I really hope you all give this a read, and if you don't then I will break into your house, and steal the legs off your kitchen table ;) hehe, once again thank you to everyone who reads these. Love you all! <3
