Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! My seasonal depression has kind of hit me, and I just feel kind of blah. But writing usually cheers me up, so that's what I'm gonna do. Also BVB new song drops tomorrow, and I am excited for that! But for today's song I have Memories of A Broken Heart by Crown The Empire! Let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this electronic sound, that fades into the heavy drum and guitar that is really popular in metalcore. This lovely intro brings into the first verse: "As I stare into these ruins made by man. I tremble as I realize it's the end, more and more I wonder what we could have done. But instead we wage a war that can't be won, yeah instead we wage a war that can't be won." I can compare this to the state of the world right now, even though this song came out a long time ago. It has held up surprisingly well, the lyrics are just as informational and deep as they were when it was released. I like when songs hold up like this. The chorus: "I stand on the ash of all I've ever loved, memories of a broken heart. Now I'm alone in the dark. I know there's a way out, when all hope is gone. Find your light in a new dawn, but there's no way to do this on our own." I love this, because there are times when the world seems dark. But as long as you keep that light alive, it will always shine through. The dark times, make the light times worth it. And sometimes we do need a little help, which is totally okay. Second verse: "I search for solace in this waste, that I once called home. But attempts of piecing life together leaves me alone. I can't repair what's been done, when the sky is as black as the ground that I walk on. But I can't give up on this, I have to wonder what we could have done. I have to wonder." Okay, wow! This part here is so deep I could swim in it! Songwriters amaze me, they always have. It's a skill that should be recognized more often. So I always give my praise to the wonderful songwriters out there! The chorus repeats, and then we have the bridge: "You think that this is the end? You're wrong, you think that this is the end your wrong. This is the start of a new generation." There's always another chance to keep fighting, and always another day on the horizon. I guess I need to remind myself of that from time to time as well. I know warmer days are gonna be here, but right now I'm just still feeling the winter blahs. It will get better though. Then the chorus repeats a final time. There's something unique I also wanted to point out, on the screaming parts there's this electronic skipping noise. That kind of cuts in and out. I find that very interesting. I wonder how they made that effect. It's not on every screaming part, just one section of it. I really like the tone of this song as well. It's almost melancholy, but with a message of hope thrown in there. Very good vocals as well, they blend really nicely. It has a nice flow throughout the song.

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Thank you so much to the 28 people who saw my last post, I appreciate it so much!!! :) Before I get into today's song, I wanted to introduce myself. I think I did the first review I made on here, but I wanted to do it again because it's been awhile. Hi, my name is Grace, I'm 22 years old. My pronouns are she/her, I'm an emo/scene girl from Canada, I'm autistic, I'm asexual/heteromantic. I love music, I'm a huge music nerd. I collect CDs, plushies, books, little figures. I love Tim Burton movies, my favs are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, and Edward Scissorhands. I love animals, my favs are wolves, axolotls, capybaras, penguins, snails, dogs, pigmy marmosets, seals, tapirs, elephants, bats. (I love a lot of animals) I love dinosaurs, Gir, space, taking pictures, singing, dancing, writing, reading. I also love fashion, and bands. Some of my fav bands are: BVB, MCR, MIW, The Used, Ice Nine Kills, Simple Plan, Hot Milk, The Relapse Symphony, The Funeral Portrait, Fall Out Boy, Stand Atlantic, Three Days Grace, As It Is, Paramore, Smile Empty Soul, Get Scared. etc. So that's about it. Lol. 

Okay, now on with the song! I have another Black Veil Brides song for you today, it's called The Vengeance. And this is how it goes! Starting off with the intro, we have this epic guitar moment. Mixed with this incredible drum beat. You know the ones, where they're just going to town on the strings? It's that! This leads us into the first verse: "All hail the dark phoenix, blood and feathers from the broken pieces. You don't know me, and it's not your time. Turn around and get in line." Very profound, and very insightful. The chorus: "So let the hate rain down, born to be the one who's gonna take the crown. Sing for the vengeance. Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa. Sing for the vengeance. Whoa-whoa, whoa-whoa. We are the vengeance." I like this one, the way it's arranged, the message. It's all lyrical mastery. Also the chorus is pretty catchy, it's got a nice hook on it. The second verse: "What's freedom, when you're beaten? Nothing's ever better for you heathens, you don't own me. And this scar is mine, drinking down your f****** lies." I feel like this part could be talking about the government, both in Canada and the US. Because let's face it, both of our countries are being run by horrible people. So that's how I see this verse. The chorus repeats, followed up by an instrumental part. Then it's the bridge: "Pray to God you're alive, just so dead inside. And all the sinners love, the skills you have to hide." I'm not sure what this part is about, so I'll leave this up to interpretation. There's another instrumental part, before the final repeat of the chorus. There's a little bit of an outro, with that same epic guitar and drum duo happening. It's a great song, and really awesome to sing along to. And as always I encourage you all to watch the music video. 

One thing I love about BVB is how they've never tried to change their genre, they've always stuck to who they are. I know you have to continue to grow as artists over time, and sometimes that comes with a genre change. But BVB proves that you can grow as artists without straying from your roots. Hello everyone! I am back from the dead lol, it feels so good to be writing again! But I also really needed that break, Happy New Year! Welcome to 2026! For my first song of the year, I have Hallelujah by Black Veil Brides! I've gotten back into them recently, and forgot how good they are! This is a newer song of theirs, and the first time I listened to this I wasn't the biggest fan of it. But after listening to it again, I realized that I was wrong. It's actually a really good song! So let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this chorus like vocals. Singing "Hallelujah my soul." Before being hit with this almost battle movie sound. Which is so sick! Bringing us into the first verse: "They worship the screen, the digital shrine. Demanding purity while rotting inside, the saints are all sinners. With halos for show, the sins are forgotten the moment you let go. I pray for my failure, I beg for my blood. But heaven stays silent, the gates remain shut." The first part of this chorus has some awesome screaming, as for the analysis. I'm not sure how to go about that, let's just continue on. The chorus: "Hallelujah, my soul. Been crucified for letting go. Hallelujah I know. Some day you praise what you hate, and suffer exemplary." I'm not really sure what they mean by all of this, so I think I'll leave the interpretation up to you wonderful people! There's a little instrumental part, after the chorus. Then we have the second verse: "They mark the forgotten, they spit on the weak. Brave new saviors tell you just how to think." Okay, this part here. I feel like they're talking about, how people are telling you what to do and how to live your life. Claiming that their way is the best way, but only you can take control of your own life! There's a new part of the chorus, after this section. "I was the outcast, the ghost of my muse. The artist who's buried, beneath the accused. Now I'm a fire they'll never contain." I like this part, not sure why. I just like how it's worded here. Another instrumental part, then we have the bridge: "Hallelujah, for my soul. Hallelujah, just let go. Hallelujah, praise the son. Hallelujah, broken one." Again love the wording here, then the chorus repeats. With one last instrumental section, and the outro is the same as the bridge. But it has that chorus/choir feel again.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog! This will be my last one for the year! And this one is for my crush! Today I'm reviewing The Life In Your Eyes by Fatehartt! I love this song, it's so romantic! So let us begin! 

Starting with the intro, we have this really soothing soft strumming of an acoustic guitar. I love that, so much! A really nice slow melody, which is perfect for a song like this. This beautiful melody, leads us to the first verse: "She's the one angels die to see, bringing light to a world so cold. Remember who you are, when the twist of the knife tries to tear apart your soul." Wow! So very deep, and meaningful! My crush is an amazing lyricist! Next is the pre-chorus: "There will be someone like you, when I drift away." Soft tones, but so much behind them. The chorus: "I've been everywhere, and yet I don't think I belong anywhere. But when I see the green in her eyes, she takes me to the other side." So sweet! I can relate to the belonging thing, I still don't feel like I belong sometimes. The second verse: "She's the one with the haunted soul, and hear the sparrows sing her name. As I rest my head I wish nothing but to see there's life in your eyes." *sighs* this song is about a girl with nice eyes, he's so romantic! The pre-chorus repeats again, as well as the chorus, then we have the bridge: "I've been everywhere and yet, I don't belong, I don't belong. I don't got much to show, but I know." You have so much to show my crush, I promise you. The chorus changes a little bit on the third repeat. "When I see the life in your eyes, that's where I belong. She's got the soul of the muse, you've got the life in your eyes." Now all I can think about is just gazing into each other's eyes, *sigh* that sounds so lovely. This section of the chorus repeats a final time, with not much of outro. There's a little bit with the chorus. Of course the vocals were on point as well, he's such a great singer. And I'm not just saying that, he does have a really beautiful voice.

Hello everyone! This is my 200th review! Thank you all so much for the support this year, I really appreciate it! I wanted to give this up too many times, but eventually I learned that I'm doing this because I love music, and I love sharing that love with other people. I learned to trust my own writing, and to have fun! I still love it when people read these of course, it means the world to me! I honestly thought I would never get here, and now here we are 200 reviews! So for this review I have chosen to do a Christmas song, since it's close to the holidays! Christmas and Kwanzaa is in two weeks! And Hannukah is this Sunday! Whatever your holiday, I hope you enjoy them! And if you don't celebrate anything, then I hope the rest of the year goes well for you! :) Now on with the review! The song is called Mistletoe is for Quitters by Forever the Sickest Kids! A really good pop punk band! So let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this really nice acoustic strumming pattern. Love that. Makes for an easy listening song, which is kind of fitting for a Christmas song. This enchanting melody leads us into the first verse: "I'm made of nothing but a shoeless box of memories. I needed time just to breathe. All you wanted for Christmas baby was a promise ring, I needed time just to think." I know it's a little bit sad, but I really love how deep this song is. And the emotion in this song makes it all the more special. The pre-chorus: "If sometime between now and then, we both just fell in love again. We don't have to spend this night alone." Sounds like he might be longing for someone, but dude I think they might be gone for one reason or another. But I like the depth, and the meaning behind it. The chorus has some lines from a famous Christmas song, "I'll Be Home For Christmas" Which I think is cool. The chorus: "I'll be home for Christmas, you can count on me. I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams. It's you and me." Then at the end there, they add their own lyrics. I love that. The second verse: "Life seems to stand still when I'm caught up in your energy, I have to stop and hit play. My only wish this Christmas baby is that you're next to me, I've had my time just to think." Aww that's actually really sweet, because I know exactly how this feels. There's a special someone I want for Christmas too :) There's a little bit of a different pre-chorus after the second verse. "We are back here once again, so much is still undetermined. But we don't have to spend this night alone." I don't have much to say about this part, it's just good. The chorus repeats, and that brings us into the bridge: "And I'm wrapped in paper, Christmas letter that I wrote her. This time last year, hoping we'd be back together. Feeling weightless, can this romance carry me away? Carry me away?" I think this romance is done my dude lol, but I understand wanting to be hopeful. Only sometimes, the one you want is not the one you need. The chorus repeats again, and there's no outro. I love how this song is laid out and arranged. The vocals are also really good, classic pop punk sound only acoustic and holiday themed. So yeah, a really solid song!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Here we are almost at 200! I'm so excited, I don't know what I'm gonna do for that one. I'll have to think on that one for a bit, but today's song, is you guessed it! It's another one of my crush's songs! I just like him so much, I don't know how to handle it. I feel like I'm out of my mind, he just makes me so happy! And my heart flutters, and I get so smiley! But let's get into the actual song shall we? The song I have picked today is Wishing Wells! by Fatehartt! I really love this one! I'm gonna try my best not to be biased on this one, but I'm not making any promises. Lol, let's get into it! 

Starting off with the intro, it has this nice electric vibe going on. Kind of soft at first then gradually becomes more pronounced. This brings us into the first verse: "I feel I've known you my whole life, but it's only been so long. Does he make you sick, well you make me weak. Are you at the end of your rope. Well I can say I've been there myself, and losing you never felt so real. I wish you knew just how I feel." Love the songwriting, he always writes with meaning, and I appreciate that. The chorus: "This wishing well, so far from home. You know that I won't let you leave me alone, this bloodied writing on the wall. We must hope we embrace before the fall, within my arms we'll make it through. In this well that I built just for you." Call me crazy, (which I am) but this almost sounds romantic to me? Like is that weird? Lol. I find it kind of sweet. The second verse: "My blood and soul this water's cold, you know that I won't let you leave me alone. You can take my heart and my soul, take it bit by bit and eat it whole. Let it rot you down into your core, you're the one I built this well for." Just wow! Those are some deep lyrics, and I mean that in the best possible way, because I live for deep meaningful lyrics. The chorus repeats again, and also that second verse, I don't think it was a full verse. I think it was part of the chorus, because according to the layout. It seems to blend it with the chorus. But the chorus does repeat a couple more times, before we get to the bridge/outro. I really like how this one is arranged, the instruments blend nicely together. Plus there's also this electric pulsing sound, that's really neat! It's a really catchy melody, and of course his voice is perfect! I love his voice, he has a good set of pipes! And can scream, which you all know I love. I'm a metalcore girl, so I'm gonna love a little screaming thrown in there. Now we have the bridge/outro. "Fall, fall, fall into decay. Fall, fall, fall into decay. You can take my heart and my soul, but you're coming down with me. You can take my heart and my soul, so far away from home." I just love it! He's amazing, and I know I'm biased because I have a massive crush on him, but I truly believe he can go far in his career. I'm already so proud of how far he's come! The outro fades out, with a little strumming at the end. I think that's cool. Would love to have him sing to me, *sigh* anyway, I hope you check out this song. And the rest of his work as well!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! I can't believe we're here, almost at 200! I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone who has read my reviews, and supported me throughout the course of this blog! It honestly means the world to me! Also update about my crush, I confessed I have on crush on him yesterday, and it went better than I expected! He replied with hearts! Which according to the internet is a good sign! I'm just happy it was a positive response! Happy December by the way everyone! In the Christmas season in full swing now, I hope you all have happy and healthy holidays this year! Okay, now on with today's review! The song I have for you today is called Straight Up (Needy) by Meet Me @ The Altar. They are a relatively new band, very good. So let's get into it! 

Starting with the intro, we have this really cool, and fun pop punk intro. Starts off slow, then gradually picks up speed. It has some nice raw energy, as well as modern stuff. This leads us into the first verse: "Oh, God I've been here before, nothing I can't handle. I'm tired of coming up short, to everyone you know. Don't wanna think all night long, but I got some time to kill. Hoping that I'll crack the code, and be the one you want." Well, as I have learned. Sometimes the one you want, isn't the one you need. And you shouldn't cling to something that isn't good for you, simply because you're tired of people leaving. The pre-chorus: "I can't eat, can't sleep. So full of misery. In case you even give a shit." Yeah, that pretty much sums up the past year of my life lol. The chorus: "It's all your fault, that life's been difficult. I'm crying on the floor, is there a bright side? I know you swore, we're better off alone. That I'm just not the one, f*** it, I'll let it show. I'm straight up needy. Straight up needy, straight up." I am clingy when it comes to people I'm emotionally attached to. So that's accurate, I also came to the realization that my ex and I were very different people, it many aspects. It probably wouldn't have worked out anyway, and coming to terms with that has been freeing in a way. The second verse: "Yeah, looking back, I could find. So many clear signs, guess I ignored them, it's fine. This is fine. No, I regret it of course, it was all for nothing. My heart's so torn, I feel sore. What did you do to me?" Yeah, I have deffinetly felt like this. Giving them a second chance, was a huge regret I have. I never should have done that, I don't believe in second chances. Because every time I tried it, I ended up getting hurt again. When will I learn?! It was all for nothing, you know what? All they every did was lie to me! When they said they wanted to still be friends, that was a lie, when then said they really cared about me, that was a lie too. Because if they really cared about me, they wouldn't have hurt me like they did. That's why this song is relatable to me, and I'm sure all of you readers out there can relate in some way as well. Because that's the best part about music, it brings people together. This next part is a slight change in the pre-chorus: "Still can't eat, can't sleep. Still full of jealousy. The pain no one could comprehend." Well I'm sure everyone has felt like this at some point or another, but I think it's meant to add to the edginess of the song. The chorus repeats, and there isn't really a bridge. But there is a little bit of an outro, "Oh God, I've been here before, no this ain't new to me. Straight up."  Yeah, I wish I could say that's not true for me, but I can't. Because I've been hurt by people a lot of times, a lot of the friends I had are gone, I got hurt by my ex twice, like it's hard sometimes. I do still have one good friend though, so it's something. I also have my crush now too, which has been really great! Music wise, this is a really good catchy song, that has that pop punk style that I love, and the lyrics are also really good. I appreciate good lyrics, and good songwriting in general. The vocals are awesome as well, the lead singer is a women and she can sing! So please go check them out!
