Song 161

 Song 161

Hello my fellow music nerds! Welcome back to the blog! Today's song is Tell Me What You Want From Me  (The Ghost You Left Behind) by FVK (Which stands for Fearless Vampire Killers) This band is amazing thank you to my person for getting me into them, love you babes! <3 Now it's time for the review!

The intro/first verse starts us off with a unique guitar strum pattern, I don't really know how to explain what it sounds like. But it sounds really cool. Then the drums come into play, and really sets this song on fire. The lyrics: "Out of dark into alleyways, save your dreams and turn tail. Pray your demons lose scent of you. I'm coming to get you, I'm coming to get you and gut you! And then you must, brace for impact and hell. I'm coming to get you, I'm coming to get you and gut you now! Ride hard." My interpretation of this verse, is I think they want to attack someone? Maybe? That's how I'm seeing this story. I also really love the overall, angsty rock vibe this song has. This next part I am deeming as the pre-chorus: "What I'd give to have another take the reins, and get us home. But they're chasing me and I despair." I don't have a comment for this part, so we'll continue on. The chorus: "Say, say what you want from me. Tell me what you want to see, my love. I really wanna better way, to clear this disarray. I can't let them ever know, I'm looking for the ghost you left behind. And I am forsaken." I'm wondering if this is about phantom heartbreak, because they still feel someone's presence, even though they're not there anymore. Because they're looking for the ghost of this person, that could mean that they're still trying to hold on to a piece of that person. But all they will find well, a fading presence of someone they once knew. Second verse: "Faster now, there's so little time. I wanted to say, that if I die you gotta get away. I'm reaching out to a brighter world, I wanna go, let me go, insane." This part hear, sounds like they want to be delusional, they want to be in denial. Now on the repeat of the chorus, there's one extra line. "I'm blind to the reality you died." Oh, that's what this song is about. Someone close to them died, and they don't know how to let go. The bridge: "Rising out of the city, black as night. Machines hungry for our flesh, as we make way through the valleys. The hellfire roars, what did you say? Say or scream it!" There's also this really cool instrumental, thrown into this section. I really love it. I'm not sure what the bridge means, so we'll continue on. The chorus repeats, and there is an outro! I'll write the last part of the chorus/outro: "I'm blind to the reality you died, I'm looking for the ghost you left behind. And I am forsaken. I'm looking for the ghost, you left, behind. That will carry me to where I die." I think that last part, means that once they find the spirit of their loved one. They will carry them to the place where they will end their life, and maybe it was also the place their loved one died. Because they can't let go of this person yet, but I feel like they find some peace in having the spirit of their loved one lead them to that place. Then the song ends with some crunchy guitar playing, as well as some hard hitting drum beats. A perfect way to end a wonderful number such as this one.

Well that's it for this review, I will see you all in the next one! Until next time, happy listening! :)

song 160

 Song 160

This song is dedicated to my person love you babes <3 also watching someone you love, do what they love is wonderful! :)

Today's song is Could We Burn, Darling? By Fearless Vampire Killers. I reviewed one of their songs previously, and I just kind of went down the rabbit hole of their songs. So there's a little bit of an intro to this song, with a crazy fast drum beat. Mixed with some really unique sounding, guitar strum pattern. This all leads us into the first verse: "In the centre of the town the sky, seems starless all we can do is climb. And I'll wake in the mortuary, with a taste for those ketamine queens." So I don't really know what this first line means, but I still really love it. Next is the chorus: "But could we burn, darling? Like fires in the night. Bloodless inferno incinerates all hopes and dreams, but ours." It's the chorus that really speaks to me, because of the thought of being that in love, and feeling like you're on fire. You wanna burn with someone, it's kind of romantic to me. The second verse: "Damn it I know how pathetic I sound, but I'm scratching for the cash to bring you round. Would gold, could gold quench. Your lusting for more, and my envy ridden core." I'm just gonna leave this part alone, but I really love how this section is arranged. There's a second part to the chorus in this part: "But could we burn darling? Like fires in the night, swear I'll forgive you, then the only hitch will be. Forgiving me." "(For those I've killed)" We're just gonna move right along to the bridge, because this is my favourite part of the song. "And I can't hear the sound of something moving in the back, they're having sex on the floor. And I'm reminded of that, bloodsucking pious preacher. Peeling off your dress, with every scratch that they scrape. And every laceration. I can't hear the voice of reason anymore. I'm the prince of the hypocrites, all bloated and drunk. But there's still time." Oh ok, the previous verse makes sense now. I think he might have murdered someone who messed with his person. Which understandable. Again there's another part to the chorus on this section. "But could we burn darling? Like fires in the night, their eyes shine like gaslight. Their fingers gag my throat. If I could get away, I'd do anything to save you and say." Which brings us to the outro: "Could we burn darling? Like colliding meteorites, they say I'm broken. But I promise I can stay with you awhile." That last part, makes me think of my person.

A really great song, with awesome instrumental arrangement. So please go check it out, and once again I love you babes <3 Until next time, happy listening :)

song 159

Song 159

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! Today I am reviewing a song called Cotton Candy by YUNGBLUD! It's so catchy, and I just really love how fun it is. So let's get into it.

So in the intro, we're hit with a low bass guitar strum pattern. Coming in with the drums, that leads us into the first verse: "Tallulah knows, that she's not the only one I'm holding close. On the low, I get vertigo from body overdose. So tell me your name, and tell me your problems. I got the same." I'm not gonna analyze this one, I'll just keep going on through the sections. The pre-chorus: "And I wanna get stuck between your teeth like cotton candy, so you'll remember me darling." That part is fun, I like dancing to this and just vibing. The chorus: "I'm losing myself in you, in you, in you, in you, I know. I'm losing myself in you, in you, in you, in you, I know." Very catchy melody, and very fun to just stim to. The second verse: "I figured out, that the modern world is turning the wrong way round. There's something about, the way our bedsheets turn religion upside down. So we just have sex, to solve all our problems, let's do it again." Then the pre-chorus, and the chorus repeats. With an extra verse mixed in. "Leave me in the morning, although I don't wanna be on my own." It's such a bouncy tune, I really love how this song is arranged. The soft drums, and the overall vibe is so good! There's also an instrumental part thrown in here, it's awesome. There's no outro, but the music kind of cuts out on the last line so you just hear his voice. Which is fine, I think it's cool.

So yeah, really fun song. I recommend you check it out, and I'll see you all next time. Happy listening everyone! :)

song 158

 Song 158

Heyyyyy :) You know what I have for you all! A song review! I have another song by Smile Empty Soul, it's called Alone With Nothing. A very beautiful song, and I think you all should listen to it! So without further intro, let's get into it!

The intro to this song, kind of reminds me of that Jesse McCartney song. Beautiful Soul. It has a similar strum pattern. But you know a little more edgy, and very a nice intro. We then have the first verse: "Daze off in a broken dream, so lost in the open seas. Held down somewhere in between, I knew you wouldn't wait for me." *sigh* The pre-chorus: "Cause I try to stand, but you keep pushing me down. pushing me down. Does it never end? Will I ever win with you?" There's this interesting drum beat with this one, it sounds kind of broken up. It has this sort of choppy sound to it. I like it. I live for deep lyrics like this. Then we have the chorus: "So take everything, all of me. It's okay. Like it when you break, all I've got. I feel free, on the floor. Alone with nothing. Yeah, alone with nothing." I almost think this is some sort of unhealthy relationship type deal going on. Or at least someone feels oppressed. The second verse: "Work hard, through this broken life. High hopes it'll be alright. Beat down but I'm still alive, hold on for another fight." Or perhaps it's all mental as well, that could be a factor in here. Maybe those two things go together in this situation. The pre-chorus and the chorus repeat again, then it's the bridge: "I find my strength and (yeah) beat on the ground. Yeah. Don't need nothing from you." This part also has the choppy drum sounds, and for the analysis on this part I think they might be trying to move on. When the pre-chorus repeats after the bridge, the music goes kind of soft. And there's an added verse with the words "With you" repeating over. The chorus remains the same, repeating the last line over. As the song fades out. No outro, just a long one last guitar strum. This is a very beautiful song, as I mentioned at the beginning. I love deep songs like this, and just easy listening songs sometimes. This girl loves screaming music, but she also loves slow but still edgy songs like this sometimes too.

I hope you consider checking this song out, and I will see you next time :)

song 157

 Song 157

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog! I have a new song from Ice Nine Kills to review for you all today! They did a great job with this one, I feel like Ice Nine Kills, is one of those bands that has a very specific sound. They have this tone, that I think you would immediately know it's them. The song is called The Great Unknown, and let's get into it!

Starting off we have an intro that has some phone sounds. But that's all there is to the intro. Then the first verse starts: "Can you see, what I see? You're connected to catastrophe. Do you know, what I know? Underneath the gun, could you be the one?" This song is based off the matrix movie, so I don't really understand some of the references. But I still really like it. The pre-chorus: "To take the drug, to pull the plug. To reclaim all control? (Reclaim all control) No time to kill, so choose a pill. Down the rabbit hole we go." I feel like that part is also referencing Alice in Wonderland. The music video, helps make this make sense. Of course I just thought it was an action movie, until I saw some comments. So if you wanna check out the music video, if might help put this song into a more understandable format. The chorus: "Can you take me away, to a far away place? Where you go, I will go. Not a moment too late." The vocals and the instruments are so well done on the chorus, they fit so well together. As you all know I'm always impressed with song writers, I mean I'm in love with one. They just amaze me, how they can do this stuff. Moving on to the second verse: "Can you see, what I see? Disconnected from reality. Do you know, what I know? That the end is soon, and there is no spoon." Okay, I have no idea what they mean by that last line. But I know what it's like to be disconnected from reality, I zone out a lot. Especially when I have a lot going through my head. It's not always fun. Now the pre-chorus changes slightly, "So take the drug, to pull the plug. To reclaim all control (Reclaim all control)" That's the only part that changes though. Next the chorus has more to it on this part. "Can you take me away, to a far away place? Where you go, I will go. Not a moment too late. The great unknown's a stepping stone, we can't keep living like we're not alive. So can you take me away, screaming we are not afraid. We are not afraid to die." I like that can't keep living like we're not alive part. No matter how hard life gets, we can't pretend like we're not still on this earth. Because then you're not living. The bridge: "Who can let the blood fold, to see our free will? Strangled by the chokehold, spit out the blur pill. Who can let the blood fold, expose atrocities? Who can tell what time holds? I fulfill the prophecy, I fulfill the prophecy. Revolt, resist, reload, repeat. Let's see you dodge this." After that part there's like this gun shot noise. There's also a little bit of screaming on that part, which is nice. Then the chorus repeats for a final time, with this tech sound dissolving away. I like that it's cool. There isn't an outro, so the song ends there.

I very much recommend you check this song out, they haven't had a new one in a while, so this is a very cool surprise. Also don't forget to check out the music video too! Until next time, happy listening! :)

song 156

 Song 156

Heyyyyyy! hehe, welcome back to the blog! "It's a leoplurodon Charlie! A magical leoplurodon!" If you know that quote you're awesome! :) I have a good one for you today! The song is Without You by Villain Of The Story! This is gonna be kind of a comparison review, because I also love the stripped down version of this. Let's get into it!

Starting off, the original version has this faster paced beat to it. Where as the stripped version, is slow and a little bit of a sadder vibe. Also with the original the intro has that rock vibe going for it. The lyrics on both are the same, so here's the first verse: "I lie awake, through these endless nights. I see your face when I close my eyes, reach out my hand thinking that you're real. My heart skips a beat, but there's nothing to feel." I know it's a bit sad, but I really love this song. I think it's beautiful, and I relate to it in a way. The pre-chorus: "Come back, come back to me." Wanting someone to come back to them, someone that obviously meant a lot to them. Because I can hear the longing in their voice, especially on the stripped version. You can hear the vocals a bit clearer, so the angst is more prominent. The chorus: "I'd give it all away, I would give anything. For another day, another day with you. Just take the pain away, there's not much more I can take. Living another day, another day without you." I like how both versions are arranged on this part, the melody is just so satisfying. I like the raw energy of the original, because you can get the angry side out. Then on the stripped version, you can have a good cry. The second verse: "I still can't believe that you're out of reach, is this the way that it was meant to be? With you taken away from me (from me, from me) Tell me that this is nothing but a dream." Just a very emotional song. There's no bridge with this song, but there is an instrumental part in between the second verse and the chorus repeating. On the stripped version, it's very pretty and so deep. On the original version, it's a great moment to nod your head to the beat. The outro just kind of fades out, on the original. On the stripped version, there's soft piano that fades out. This is a very emotional song, about missing someone really badly. Something I relate to on a personal level. My person lives really far away, we're countries apart. I miss them very often, but when we talk it's like they're closer somehow.

That's it for this review, and if you have someone that you miss. I recommend listening to this song. Until next time, happy listening :)

song 155

 Song 155

Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog! I have a fun song for you all today! It's called Dinosaurs Go Rawr! By Amy Can Flyy! I liked how fun and silly this song is, plus I love dinosaurs. So I thought I would review it! Also the art work for this song is so cute! Let's get into it!

The intro is really fun, with this electronic poppy vibe. But it's also mixed with drums and I believe there's some guitar in there as well, with some bass. I've come around on more scene songs, I like the electronic sound they have with some of them. I listen to the band I Fight Dragons, and they use the same kind of sound in their music, so yeah I like it. The set up of the intro is just really captivating, and draws you in. The first verse: "One, two, three and four. I came to the land of the dinosaurs, and I parked my time machine. Behind the biggest tree that I could see, I walked and I walked until my feet got sore. I set up my small tent and I camped on the floor." Already that's fun, and I just picture the movies The Land Before Time when I hear it. Because I loved those movies growing up, which could be why I love dinos. Then the chorus is pretty simple, but it's also really cute and silly. "Dinosaurs go rawr, (Everybody knows that) dinosaurs go rawr. (Everybody knows that) Dinosaurs go rawr." The way the melody on that is set up is just really good, and just fun! I know I say that a lot, but I can't think of other words to describe it. The second verse: "One, two, three and four. I went to check out the dinosaurs, and I saw a pterodactyl on a volcano. This is what he said when he saw me. Oh oh, ohh, oh, oh. Oh oh, ohh oh. Oh oh, ohh oh oh." Then the chorus just repeats a bunch of times, with the outro having that same fun tune it's had all the way through. There isn't much on this band, they only had two albums. I think that might be from the UK, only because I can hear an accent when the person sings. It sounds British, so it could be. But I think they're pretty good.

So if you're looking for just a fun and silly song, check this one out. Until next time happy listening :)

song 154

 Song 154

Hello everyone welcome back to the blog! Today I have a more serious song for you, it's called Stay Alive by Smile Empty Soul. It's a really beautiful song, and very meaningful. Smile Empty Soul is a rock/post-grunge band, and their lyrics are always very deep. That's it for my intro, so now I'll begin the review.

There's no intro, so we'll just start with verse one: "When nothing you say is heard, and nobody cares if you hurt. I know how it seems, hear nothing but screams. But take it from me, it's not the end. When all that you try goes wrong, heard nothing but lies for so long. I know how it seems, it's hard to believe. But take it from me it's not the end." Already we see, that this song is talking about mental health, depression. The chorus: "Stuck, keep moving, stuck. Don't let it die. Stay alive, stay alive. Because it's almost over now. Stay alive, stay alive. For better days to come around." Please everyone reading this, know that you deserve to be on this earth. You are worthy of love, friendship, family, and so much more. We need you here. You are important. Second verse: "When nothing is right in your head, and all of your tears are shed. I know how it seems, you're in this too deep. But take it from me it's not the end." I'm a very emotional person, sometimes I can't even describe how I'm feeling. But whenever I hear a specific song that explains exactly how I feel, it really helps me put my feelings into perspective. This song is one of those examples. Then the chorus repeats, bringing us into the bridge: "Screaming, needing, something that's not misleading. Try and get by, and keep all my wounds from bleeding." Just a raw emotional bridge there. Then the chorus repeats a final time, with the last line being "Stuck!" To initiate the mental state of being trapped inside your own head. The melody is very nice, and easy listening. This track came out in 2009, and I honestly love how this type of music sounded in the 2000s. I wish music could sound like this again.

Well, that's it for this review, I'll see you in the next one! Until then happy listening! :)

Song 153

 Song 153

Hellooooooo My fellow music lovers! Welcome back to the blog! I have a really fun one for you today! This song I found by myself, I really love it. It's called Escape by World War Me feat. Nicholas Matthews from Get Scared! I have never heard of this band before, but I do know who Nick is because I like Get Scared. When I was listening to this one, and I heard him come on the track. His voice fit this so well, and the band's singer's voice as well. Their voices melded together very nicely. Ok, my intro is over. So let's get into it!

The intro on this song is what drew me in, it has this really fun drum beat going on at the beginning. Then in comes the guitar, shredding it up in the best way! I love shredding. Just really fun, and gets you moving. We also have some stumming, bringing the melody. Which leads us into the first verse: "Broke down by the mess I made, destroyed like a heartbreak hand grenade. Is there a better way to leave my past behind? And my scattered thoughts, are endless plots. To kill my mind, I'm broken by design." Judging by this first verse, I feel like this song could be about mental health. The chorus: "If I could just pretend, that everything is in my hands. I could stay awake forever, try to comprehend. That I'm not broken, no I'm not left for dead. If I could stay awake forever, maybe I'd escape this hell I'm in." This is where Nick comes in. I'd say this is pop punk, which you all know I'm a sucker for. And I think this chorus, further confirms my interpretation that this song is about mental health. I listen to a lot of songs like this, so it's kind of easy to pick up on it. I totally understand feeling broken, or feeling like there's something wrong with you. I've been there, a lot. But somehow, you start to think that, maybe other people are the weird ones. I still have moments where I feel like, I'm too odd for society. But you know what? Screw what society thinks! As long as you're true to yourself, that's what matters. The second verse: "I've gone through a million ways, found out that my mind is just a slave. To everything that I've encountered, loud, ring. How I'm f-ing suffering, what a good for nothing, I've become." The chorus repeats, and it brings us into the bridge: "Help now, as I'm lost in emotion. As I drown in the ocean of fear, and I am hell bend on buying your dying devotion. Swept away in the motion so clear." I like how this was sung, I'm not sure how to analyze it though. The chorus repeats, at the end of the song. No outro, the song just ends with a final strum of the guitar. Which is fine, I feel like this song doesn't really need one. The vocals are great, melody is on point, instrumentals arranged quite nicely, a really fun listen with some meaningful words.

That's it for this review, I will see you all in the next one! I hope you consider checking it out, and happy listening my fellow music nerds! :)

Song 152

 Song 152

Hello everybody! Welcome back to the blog! Before I begin today's review, a huge shout out to my person and best friend. I love you so much R, thank you for sending me this song. I feel like you get my music taste by now, and I just really love this song. And I love you <3 Okay, now back to the review. The song is called Bite Down On My Winchester (There's a Reckoning A Coming) by the band Fearless Vampire Killers. Never heard of them, prior to this review. So that was also a nice surprise, and let's just get into it!

There isn't an intro, so I'll just be starting with the first verse: "There was a boy I can recall, fresh faced and sweet of soul. Never wanted anymore than to love and be loved. Until they beat him down and crushed, his spirits ground to dust. And they chased that boy away for good." This part is a little slow paced, but the lyrics are fast (I hope that makes sense lol) but already you can see the deep, meaningful story in this song. This next part is what I would call the pre-chorus: "Now I want my life, want my pride and joy reclaimed. Now they'll pay, they'll pay in blood." Revenge, that's all I have to say about this part. Just revenge. Now this is where the pace picks up, with the chorus: "Run boys, as fast as you can. I'm coming for you, and I won't go easy. Now run boys, run faster. I'll take back what's mine, I don't care if it kills me." The melody on this track is just so catchy and fun, I love it! The instruments are also arranged very nicely, a nice mix of strumming, and guitars, and the vocals! The vocals are so good too! The context of the words, sounds like they plan on killing people. That's all I have to say about that. Moving on to the second verse: "And from that boy a man was born, with a penchant for alcohol. And saw the world with bitter scorn, alive but not living. A shotgun without a messenger, dead eyed scoundrel. Decked out in vampire clothes." They sound like they're vampire hunters, which kind of makes sense because of the name of the band. This next part is also the pre-chorus only this time the words are different. "All I want is their heads, and their souls locked in a cage. For what they took from me, I'll take it all from them!" I don't really have anything to say about this part, other then it's just good lol. The chorus repeats, then we have the bridge: "Revenge is always on my mind, and what I've got in store won't be too kind. Whenever I'm feeling blue, I just think about what I will do to you. It's time to see yourself for the scum that you are, then I'll be free. One scream's all I need." Yeah he's deffinately planning on killing someone, whoever this person is that did something pretty bad to him. He's literally coming for you man! lol But I get it, you know. When people wrong us, sometimes we do want revenge. But other times, if we commit revenge. We're just as bad, as the people who hurt us. So I guess you can be on either side here. This song actually has an outro, which I am very happy about! "Stand up and take it like a man. One shot, hold it steady. Not time to be queasy, you better be ready now." And that's where I think he shoots him. Then there's this little raw guitar sound, as it ends. Followed up with some slow instrumentals, which probably leads into the next song, from the album this one is on. But I think it's a great way to end it!

That's it, just a really great song that my person sent me! And I hope you go check it out! :) Until next time, happy listening!

Album review

 Album Review

Hello everyone, welcome back to the blog. I ask you all to bare with me today, as I will be writing an album review! These are lengthy processes which is why I don't write a lot of these, but I thought it would be fun to do one, since my last one was last year! The album I have selected is Selfish Machines by Pierce the Veil! A little background on this album, it was released on June 22, 2010, by Equal Vision Records. And had the front man from A Day To Remember on one of their tracks. (Source is from wikipedia) I will begin the review now!

Track 1-Besitos

The intro has a crazy guitar riff, thrown in with the drums. There's also a lyric within the intro as well. "You're my favourite explosion." I love how it's drawn out as well. On the first verse there's some backing vocals, then the front vocals come in. "(The only real way to cure pain is to add a little more) (Because everything new distracts the old) A violin with no hands plays, symphonies with no words. (with no words) A drowning boy with no voice prays, someone up there's telling me. You'd better not get back up. I spit my heart into this red cup, better pick it back up, it might ruin your night (ruin your night)" I'm not sure what this song is about just yet, although I do love the lyrics. There isn't really a definitive chorus in this track, so I'll just put all these pieces together. "And she said, baby leave the water by the bed for later. I woke up without a single drop, I told myself. I'm tired of holding up your backup plans, go down your list and be satisfied. If all you have is not enough, (True love comes from more than just the heart)" I like the last line, it's true. I mean that's where a lot of love comes from, but it also comes from other stuff. I mean everyone has their own love language, so love can come from anywhere. Second verse: "She said paint a picture on me, throw your dress up and your heart away. Yeah, I heard what you said (no) a friend of a friend. These strangers at the party never paid, and if that doesn't turn you on. I'll keep talking till something does, as we're covered in sand, you roll over and smile (smile, smile)" This song seems to be a little bit all over the place, in terms of what it's about. So I'll leave this one up for interpretation. There's a new part, off of that part I said was a weird chorus. "And until that day, (that day) I'll steal you flowers from the cemetery, red roses. Red roses of the dead. How does it feel to breathe oxygen insider her head? So say it (say it, say) Say I'm in love. Cause you called me crying, (crying) crying (crying) from your job. Said you just got fired, and you don't have a backup plan. So don't expect me, to understand." I suppose this could also be the bridge. The part after this, is a little bit of a speaking part. "A diamond bullet and a gun, made of gold. She was covered in blood, last seen in San Francisco. Yeah, alright. (We all break down)" Then we're back to the singing. "Sometimes the bedroom walls, become my only friends. When they were there from beginning to end." The vocals on this one are awesome. There is also lyrics on the outro. "You know I've never held a gun in my life, but now I carry one around in case I see you tonight. Bedroom walls, oh, these bedroom walls. Oh, I hate what it tastes like." Then there's this instrumental part, that plays out. It's really cool, with the riffs in this almost chaotic pattern.

Track 2-Southern Constellations

This track is kind of an interlude, a filler track to move the story along. But it's still effective, and cool. It's a slow one, with light strumming. Here's the lyrics: "Please, keep chasing me. Your southern constellations, got me so dizzy. It's cold, but you pretend that you are warm with me. (warm with me) Before I get yo home, you're nearly frozen. (you're frozen) But I'll never let you freeze, without me. Oh, no." It's a short song, but it's beautiful in how it's arranged. Soft vocals, deep vibe. Love it.

Track 3-The Boy Who Could Fly

There's no intro with this one, it brings us right into the first verse: "It's time to take you home, if feels so early, but I promised I would bring you to your door. Now our lips are numb as we walk, sharing warm alcohol. That kiss tastes like summer, I hope you like the stars I stole for you. One hundred million twinkle lights in neon blue, I'll be the brightest someday. I'll be the brightest someday, I'll be the brightest someday. I'll be the brightest, you'll see. Don't rain on my parade, it's gonna glow in the dark. I like it better when you can't keep warm. Don't ruin a perfect thing, a perfect thing. The boy on the blue moon dreams of sun." The chorus might have been mixed in there as well. Vic Fuentes has a crazy voice, there's also this chaotic drum pattern. Next part: "Now as the rain falls like shattered pieces of glass from the sky, we bleed like water colours and drunken pastels down the stairways. And I ask myself why do I still pray? When will it end? And who f****** cares?  I swear to God, I did what I could. I practically begged you, I pretended everything was fine. A soul sacrifice, an American nightmare. I'd rather be dead." No comment on this section. Next part: "I'll bet you money has you running to the bathroom, you barely started drinking, but your beauty never stopped you. You died in California by the sulfur and the sea, I guess I never should have loved you. But I do forever cause you loved me, and I break my glasses as I fall in the street. If you were gonna leave this world, how could it be without me? Now it's all over my tongue, and it still has no taste. Cause without you here there is no me." Awww, that's actually really sweet. Next part: "There's no me at all, sometimes love. Love dies like, dies like a. Love dies like a dog. (So why don't we just this once, take of itself?)" Than on the outro, there's some lyrics as well. "I'm losing a perfect thing, a perfect thing, a perfect thing." That part is a little heartbreaking, but is there really such a thing as a "perfect thing?" I mean I think that might be subjective. But I think in this case, he's talking about losing something he thought was special. Then the music fades out, in a slow melody.

Track 4-Caraphernelia

This is one of my favourite tracks on this album, the hook and the chorus are so much fun. The intro, has this fun upbeat element to it. Coming in hot with the guitar. Then it leads us into the first verse, which also draws you in. "Sunshine, there ain't a thing that you can do that's gonna ruin my night. (But there's just something about) This dizzy dreamer and her bleeding little blue boy, licking your fingers like you're done. And you've decided there is so much more than me. (oh) And baby, honestly, it's harder breathing next to you, I shake. I brought a gun and as the preacher tried to stop me. Hold my heart, it's beating for you anyway." That whole verse, is so good! Then we have the chorus: "What if I can't forget you? (oh) I'll burn your name into my throat, I'll be the fire that'll catch you. What's so good about, picking up the pieces? None of the colours ever light up anymore in this hole, oh." I think I might have reviewed this song on it's own, but it's still a great one. And that's a wonderful question, what is good about picking up the pieces? Especially from a broken heart, I would know. Mine was broken for a long time. Second verse, which is also my favourite verse: "Nobody prays for the heartless, nobody gives another penny for the selfish. (You're learning how to taste what you kill now) Don't mind me, I'm just reaching for your necklace. Talking to my mom about this little girl from Texas." That first part is actually true, nobody thinks or at least should think about people who don't deserve money or some sort of good thoughts. The people who are abusive, and toxic. There's some other lyrics, attached to the second have of the chorus: "Just give her back to me, you know I can't afford the medicine that feeds what I need." There's also this section that I would call the pre-bridge: "So baby, what if I can't forget you? (What if I can't forget you?) Collide invisible lips like the shadow on the wall, and just throw, oh no. You can't just throw me away, oh." That part has screaming. Oh fun fact: This is the track that has the lead singer from A Day To Remember on it. The bridge: "So, what if I can't forget you? I'll burn my name into your throat, I'll be the fire that'll catch you. And what's so good about, picking up the pieces? What if I don't even want to?" Very true dude, very deep. Another line: "I'm better off to live alone." Now I don't really believe that, I mean if that's your choice in life. That's fine, but I don't believe anyone is better off alone. Then the outro, is a steady drum beat. With them asking the question "What's so good about picking up the pieces?" Which is a great one to end on, helps reach people's minds. Makes them think. There's also a little bit of an electronic sound at the end, with the rest of the instrumentals.

Track 5-Fast Times At Clairemont High

I really love this one too. The context is really quite mindful, and sweet. Intro: "I was saving (I was saving) I was saving, I was saving myself for you. I was saving myself for you. I waited my whole life for you. Without you, what's the point? (I was saving myself for you)" There is autotune used on some of these tracks, but it's not that much. And there's still real instruments. The first verse: "Tonight we'll be throwing a party (oh) Under the sunset, we started to drink (a little faster now) This celebration (oh) so many faces (oh) I say the words as the moon painted us blue." No comment. The chorus: "I've been saving myself for you, I've been saving myself for you. I waited my whole life for you, cause I was saving myself for you. (Now brother bring the beat back!)" That is really beautiful, and sad at the same time. Because he was literally saving himself for this person, and for some reason they just didn't think we was what they were looking for. Second verse: "Now hold on, this is innocent blood. All the beach boys look like sharks. (oh) Cause without you, nothing ever mattered. I scream and wave my arms, but you don't understand me. Now as I watch them feed on you, it's over. If I die, you die too." Now he's realizing that it can never be between them, which is so heartbreaking. Next part: "I just wanted one dance with you, and one night under the smoke alarm. Every single door in this house is on fire. (on fire) So melodramatic, but it turns me on. I close my eyes, it feels just like a movie. I'm convinced that we don't make sense, but I'd kill anyone who gets close. I've been saving myself for you, (oh) I've been saving myself for you. The sharpest thing I find for you." Then on the outro we have: "I saved myself for you, oh don't you know I'd die for you? I saved myself for you. Without you, what's the point?" Only that line is whispered, and then the music just cuts off. I love it.

Track 6-The New National Anthem

The intro on this track has some soft plucking of the strings, it's very cool. As well as this other sound, that ties it together. First verse: "Drag my hand behind you like a chain behind a truck, sparks over your carpet while I chase you through the darkness. Somebody's supposed to fall in love, but nobody even calls. Somebody's supposed to." I like how this part is put together. Next part, I wont label this part because I'm not entirely sure what to call this. "Tear this place apart until you find me hiding, silently I wait. You'll be excited just to see me someday, everything's okay." Oh ok, looking back at the lyrics, this is the chorus. That clears that up, lol. Next part: "Summer and gold throw their colours at the dark, a mother tells her son, darling look at the sparks. But you hold my attention without even trying, a beautiful reflection from firework eyes. But never means forever, desperation and hanging in the backyard at night." I'm not really sure what this song is about, I just like it. The bridge: "Love, don't forget to bleed so slowly. Haunted hearts we melt over the fabric of your floor, I'm holding her just like she's gold, but. I've been running from the sun, oh no, no. And if I ever catch the ones who hurt you, I'm hoping that God looks away this time. Why would I let you go?" I think I know what he's talking about here, he means that whoever hurt this person he cares about, he's gonna mess them up pretty badly. No outro on this track, the chorus repeats again.

Track 7-Bulletproof Love

This is my favourite song on this album, the moment I first heard it. I loved it. No intro, so we'll just jump right in. First verse: "I breathe you in with smoke, in the backyard lights (backyard lights) We used to laugh until we choked. Into the wasted nights (wasted nights) It was the best night of my life, but now I sleep alone. So don't, don't, don't wake me up. Cause my thrill is gone. And the sunsets turning red behind the smoke, forever and alone. Yeah." It's a great first verse, really draws you in. In this track the chorus shows up after the second verse. So second verse: "And you've gone and sewn me to this bed, the taste of you and me. (you and me) Will never leave my lips again, under the blinding rain. (blinding rain) I wanna hold your hand so tight, I'm gonna break my wrist. And when the vultures sing tonight, I'm gonna join right in." I would hold my person's hand really tight, because I would just be so happy to hold their hand. The chorus: "I'll sing along, cause I don't know any other song. Woah, oh no. I'll sing along. But I'm barely hanging on, no I'm barely hanging on. By the time you're hearing this I'll already be gone, and now there's nothing to do. But scream at the drunken moon." This song is so fun to sing along with. The bridge: "This isn't fair (no) don't you try to blame this on me, my love for you was bulletproof. But you're the one who shot me, and god**** it. I can barely say your name, so I'll try to write it and fill the pen. With blood from the sink, whoah-oh. But don't just say it, you should sing my name. Pretend that it's a song, cause forever it's yours. And we can sing this on the way home." That's one of my favourite bridges in music, it's so fun. On the outro, there's also lyrics "And now there's nothing to do, but tear my voice apart. Nothing to do, and scream at the drunken moon." With "Yeah" Being screamed as the song ends.

Track 8-Stay Away From My Friends

There's some soft piano playing in the intro. Coming into the first verse: "Waking up your neighbors downstairs, I've been inside your bedroom a thousand years. And as you tie me to the bed for good I say, that I want you in the most unromantic ways. Louisiana, you're torturing me with a beautiful face. Ana, come on, I thought we had a damn good thing. A penny in the couch and a diamond ring." This is a very soft song, but very meaningful. The chorus: "So baby, stay away from my friends. Cause I need them to carry me when it's over, I'll count back from ten. And you can listen to glass hearts shattering." He's saying how, he doesn't want whoever hurt him to steal his friends away. Because he's gonna need them to help him get through this. Second verse: "I don't know how you got into me, down my throat and made a home in my veins. They used to be the rivers that would take us away, now you only call me every Christmas and my birthday. I still can't believe how you look next to me, just like a strip club bedroom scene." I'll leave this part up to the readers to decipher. There's a new part on the second part of the chorus. "And you can listen to something that you've never heard before. (Never heard before)" Then we have the bridge: "But you don't know what it's like, to wake up in the middle of the night. Scaring the thought of kissing razors, this blood evacuation is telling me to cave in. Stay away, away." I love the vocals on this bridge, and the lyrics so heavy and so emotional. Then there's the outro: "Just stay away, away. From my friends." Ending with the soft piano again.

Track 9-I Don't Care If You're Contagious

Now I find this song romantic, but not in the way you may think so. It has some fuzzy guitar sounds in the intro. First verse: "Bury me in the bedroom where I, I can sing you to sleep all night. Put me next to the open window, promise me a second time. Cause I don't wanna leave without you buried by my side, I'd rather kill the one responsible for falling stars at night. Cause they fall all around me, the night can be deadly." Nice. Chorus: "And they'll never take us alive, (can you chase away the darkness?) To live and love and die. Last night she recited every reason she's fine, so if we're heading there together a the same time. You sing while I drive." I thought this song was about someone being physically ill, but now that I write this out. I think they might mean mentally. Second verse: "Move like a fugitive tonight, (dance on the ambulance) Cause I'd rather spend my life, vacations. In bed with you like drunken summer kites. And this is only a test, sober and scaring me to death." Oh, he really cares about this person. Next part: "And I don't care if you're sick, I don't care if you're contagious. I would kiss you even if you were dead. Would somebody make me go blind, for the rest of my life. Cause I'd do anything to hold your hand. And I don't care if you're sick, I don't care if you're contagious, oh no. Would somebody make me go blind for the rest of my life, cause I'd do anything, anything, anything." So romantic, so sweet. Whether it's mental or physical illness, if you really love someone, you risk being infected. Just so the other person can feel better. (I say that, but I'm a germaphobe lol the mental stuff I can help with some what though) Next part: "They'll never take us alive, cause I'll chase away the darkness. I'll live, and love, and die. I join the party for the recently blind. So if we're heading there together, you can sing all night. All night, I'm gonna tear out the thread one by one, from your skin. Till your bones feel embarrassed from all the attention. Kiss me while I drive." Then the song ends. I really like this one. So much depth and meaning behind it.

Track 10-Disasterology

The intro starts by the drummer banging the sticks together. Then we're hit with the beat. I wish I was better at figuring out the beat pattern, but I do my best. I learn by ear when it comes to singing, and this is pretty much the same thing. First verse: "I laid down, I drank the poison then I passed the f*** out. Now let me tell you about the good life, I have a million different kinds of fun. When I'm asleep and in a dream that I'm your only one." So he dreams about them together? I think that's what he's talking about here. I can totally relate to that. I dream about my person, sometimes. Chorus: "Can we create something beautiful and destroy it? Nobody knows I dream about it, this is my imagination." That's an interesting thing to think about. Second verse: "If you come over tonight we can travel through time, we can sleep on the ceiling and creep under black lights. I have a million different girls that hide under my bed, and when I let them out. They treat me right. Oh what a waste of a perfectly good, clean wrist. You were screaming till the police came." I know what this part means. I'm just gonna leave this part alone, in case it's triggering for some people. There's a bit more to the chorus, in this part. If every living thing dies alone, what am I doing here? If every living thing dies alone, what am I doing here? (F*** it!)" There's some existentialism going on here, like to see that. I question stuff about life often. The bridge: "If it's the end of the world, if it's the end of the world, you and me should spend the rest of it in love!" I completely agree with that, hey if the world is gonna end or there's gonna be an apocalypse. I would wanna spend it being in love with my person too. Then there's some instrumentals, and the song ends.

Track 11-Million Dollar Houses (The Painter)

No intro for this track. So let's jump right into it, with the first verse: "So what if I was just a painter, painting houses on the rich blue coast? Would you ever try to leave me, for somebody who deserves you most? Cause darling I am just a painter, I'm painting houses for the rich old folks. I'm gonna make a million dollars, cause nobody's gonna steal you no. For diamonds and gold, for diamonds and gold." No comment, moving right along to the chorus: "Cause I've broken bones for you, and for you only. I make money but we just can't keep this home, give me your heart and your hand and we can run. (We can run, we can run, we can run now) (We can run, we can run, we can run now)" I think this song is about doing everything for someone, like they would be willing to do anything for them. Second verse: "She's like a bullet through an ocean, I still remember how you moved so slow. You tried to kill me with your shotgun, Bang! Now we're even, we don't stop till someone's bleeding. We don't stop till someone's bleeding. I've broken bones for you, and for you only." There's another part, to this section. "I make money but we just can't keep this home, give me your heart and your hand. We can run, we can run, we can run, we can run now. We can run, we can run, baby, you're my hope." The next part of this I think is the bridge. "Permanently yours, sometimes the moon looks brighter than the sun. As times like this run up my wrists, she hates all of the guts and blood. Splash around with me, while we move like flames on burning sheets. Your doctor won't stop calling me (her medication) But baby, no, sometimes things. Don't work out the way we've planned, to live is just to fall asleep, to die is to awaken." That's true, sometimes things don't go our way. But that's ok, then you can make new plans. The outro: "Maybe we're meant to lose the ones we love, but I'll fight for you till then. And if they stole you from me, on my arm there's a tattoo of your name. I've broken bones for you, and for you only. I make money but f*** money, we want love. Give me your heart and your hand, and we can run." Money isn't everything, love is so much better than money. I think that's what this song is trying to teach. Musically this track is awesome, just the layout of everything and the vocals. Just perfect!

Track 12-The Sky Under The Sea

The intro to this one, is really fun. It does kind of sound like Besitos intro, only not as electric. The first verse: "I still remember the night, you tried to kiss me through the window. I tried to settle for the taste of touching glass over the sound of, answering machines. Because I love the way your voice, is says it's gonna get back to me someday. As I brace my knees, you hold me down with your eyes." The chorus: "And someday I'll drive, close both my eyes. We'll swim in circles in the blue lights, it's gonna be the best day of my life. And oh my God, you'll never be as beautiful without me. Beauty needs an animal to breathe. And baby you'll be alright, as long as I'm not. So do that dance in the dark, sharpen your teeth and bite as hard as you want." Not sure what this is about, so I'll just move on to the next part. "And I just want to fade away, into the sky under the sea. A million kisses underwater, as we walk into the ocean. (Ocean, ocean) Oh, no. And this is gonna be the best day (of my life) A celebration of an ending. Come on." Okay, now I'm thinking this song might be about deliberate drowning also known as suicide. So um, that might be triggering for some people. And if it is, you can skip this part if you need to. Or it could mean something else, this is just how I interpret it. Next part "And do you really trust your tongue, or did you bury the taste and is this fantasy real? Or is it all home made? And did you call me last night, just cause you couldn't get laid. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce the selfish machine." That is a pretty cruddy thing to do. Like if you are calling someone, call them to maybe talk about issues. Don't call someone up for a well, for a quick session. Next part "(Yeah, that's f******* right) Do you think you're the only one (afraid) Do you think, you're the only one (afraid) Do you think you're the only one afraid of this machine?" There's a part in the outro "And do you see me at all under the tall waves, do you see me at all?" That part is sad, and also dark. But I can understand how deep and painful our emotions can be. Musicality really cool, it goes pretty hard through out. Until the outro, where it slows down. With some backing vocals.

Track 13 (Bonus Track) -Kissing In Cars

This is the last track on this album, and it's a romantic one! A perfect way to end this review! Its also a slow song, fitting for the context. Starts off with light strumming. Then we move into the first verse: "As we wake up in your room, your face is the first thing I see. The first time I've seen love, and the last I'll ever need. You remind her that your future would be nothing without her, never lose her, I'm afraid. Better think of something good to say but it's, all been done more than once. So I'll keep on trying." Already it's so sweet. The chorus: "Oh, God, don' let me be the only one who says, no. At the top of our lungs, there's no, no such thing as too young. When second chances won't leave you alone, then there's faith in love." Oh, my gosh how did this song know? Lol. But seriously sometimes second chances work out, and it's amazing. It might take a while to get to where you are with them, but in the end. They are worth it. And sometimes they don't work out, which is fine. You grow from them, and you move on. Second verse: "She was always the one, I'll repeat it again, the one. No such thing as too young. Red lights flash in the car, we're kissing in. Call me crazy, I've always tried to remind her. That the future's, just a few heartbeats away from disaster. I'm afraid that I've thrown it all away." So beautiful. Outro: "If you kiss me goodnight, I'll know everything is alright. Second chances won't leave us alone, won't leave us alone. Cause there's faith in love." It's just a beautiful slow song, and I can't help but sway when I hear it. Or think of my person.

I actually have this album on CD, and it sounds great when it's played in a CD player. Thank you all so much for joining me in this album review, I hope I encouraged all of you to go check this wonderful album. Final rating 10/10 highly recommend :) Until next time, happy listening!
