song 90

 Song 90

I am so close everyone! I know I can get to 100 reviews now! I'm not stopping now! Today's song is Mess by Get Scared! Which I think they are underrated, I only knew one song by them at first. Which was Sarcasm, but then I decided to find their other stuff. Best decision by the way, because I found this gem. I like the intro on this one, this album came out in 2010. It has that feel to it for sure, and that's why it's awesome. The intro leads us into the first verse: "Talk to me while I'm sober, the way that you look I know it's almost over. The fighting has stopped, but I'm still so lost. Will you bring me in? Shame creeps down my spine, like the blade of a knife. And it's taking it's time, will you wait for me? Cause now I can't breathe." Really deep songwriting here, I absolutely love it when you can feel the person's soul come through the music. Whether it's with their voice or the words. As someone who's in love with a songwriter, I appreciate good songwriting and always give props for that. Next is the pre-chorus: "The air runs thin, I'm another lush. I'm another liar, how will I stop? When will I start learning? Will I come clean to say that I'm wrong?" It takes a lot of courage to admit that you're wrong, and I'm sure what you're expressing will all come together in the end. I know you'll start learning, if you want to change you have to want to, and put in the work. The chorus: "I'm the best kind of mess, Yeah, yeah, I'm the best kind of mess." That part repeats three times. I like this fact, I feel like everyone is their own kind of mess, I think I'm gonna call myself the best kind of mess. Because yeah, I may be messy at times. But that's not such a bad thing. So embrace what's messy about you! Second verse: "You know that it hurts so bad, I wish I could stop. But I'm so used to sad, you asked me to leave. So now I believe, that I'm shut out. Now I'm taking this pill just to mend it, I'm not calling the shots. I'm just calling it quits, would you love me, would you hold me. In this wreck I am?" This is so beautiful to me, I sometimes feel like a wreck. But the person I love still loves me, and that's amazing. So even if you are a wreck, someone out there loves you just the way you are. Then the pre-chorus, and the chorus repeats again. Next is the bridge: "I forget, I'm obsessed. With watching her fall out of love, is this a test, cause I'm depressed. By watching her fall out of love." This part is so sad, like I'm so sorry she stopped loving you man. But not everyone is like that, there is someone who will always love you no matter what. I could never not love my person, I think the world of them. But just because someone stops loving you, doesn't mean you should give up. There's one more line at the end of the song, and it's heartbreaking. "You know that it hurts so bad." :( I feel for this person, it can hurt and for awhile too. But it also gets better, as long as you give yourself time to heal. I'm glad I chose this song today. I hope that I didn't just convince to listen to this song, but also understand what it means. :)

See you next time! :)

song 89

 Song 89

Song 89! let's go! Today's song is Brand New Numb by Motionless In White! This song is freaking awesome! If you saw me, you probably wouldn't think that I would like this band but I think they are fantastic! On with the song! hehe :) So right off the bat with the intro we have a freaking sick, rocking melody! It's just everything! Then it's into the first verse: "I've got a shotgun tongue that ticks like a time bomb, all black everything. I've got a switchblade wit, that cuts like a b**** and I think you two should meet." This is very edgy, and kind of hard to decipher, but still really cool. The pre-chorus: "I wanna break free from my humanity, I release the animal in me. B-B-B- break free your curiosity. You're gonna give mw what I need." I like the idea of breaking free from your inabitions, and everything holding you back. I'm not always the most confident person, but when I do feel confident it is really freeing. The chorus: "I've got blood on my hands, no guilt on my conscience. The war in your path, the sex in your violence. All of my flaws, I wear them with honor, a purple heartbreak for all we've suffered. I am the enemy, I am the enemy, I am the enemy. Here to save the day. I'll be the enemy, e-e-e-enemy, I'll be the enemy, enemy, enemy. I got a brand new, I got a brand new, brand new numb." It's a bit of a long chorus, but it's really good with the melody. I think this is one of those songs where I don't need to analyze everything, so I'll just leave the chorus alone on this one. Second verse: "I'm in your blindspot God, while I get your rocks off. Worship to the beat. I wanna thank you, come again that was great, do you need a receipt?" I don't know what they're talking about, so let's continue. The pre-chorus changes a bit here: "I wanna break free, from my humanity. I wanna release the darker side of me." That's the only part that changes. then the chorus is the same and repeats. Then it's the bridge: "Give me liberty or death, charge me more and pay me less. I said give me liberty or death, Ahh f*** it just give me death. This one's for the underdogs!" I like that factor, yeah some of us are underdogs, thank you for the shutout guys! hehe :) Then the chorus repeats again, and the outro ends with "brand new numb." This is a really fun song, great to rock out to. So I hope you check it out!

See you next time :)

song 88

 Song 88

Here we go song 88! Today's song, is going to be another From First To Last song, and it's called Black & White. I really love the melody of this one, as well as the lyrics. It has a great beat, I just really think it's amazing. And hopefully all of you will too. In the intro, like right at the very beginning. There's this almost gunshot sounding arrangement, I wonder how they got it to sound like that. Then the rest of the intro sounds like almost spooky, I really like how they get backing instrumentals to sound like a haunted woods. It's just so cool! Verse 1: "I let my DNA take over me, I'd like to take a peak inside those genes. God, it looks so good, but it feels so bad." Not sure exactly what they're trying to say here, but this whole verse is mostly screaming. Which I love, maybe they're saying that they made the same mistakes they're relatives made. Usually when DNA is mentioned in a song like this, they're refuring to people who share it. And sometimes they are not the best people. Or I could be completely wrong on that. Next is the pre-chorus: "I am no different than those who came before me, and I can't help but doubt this." Okay, this makes more sense now. They are actually saying that they are just as bad as those who were there before him. The chorus: "You know if I went running, I'd end up feeling like nothing. Sometimes I'm a f***** up mess without you, when you're right you're right. I'm not trying to lie, there's times when the grass looks greener on the other side. sometimes I'm a f****** up mess without you." I really love the chorus on this song, just all the meaningful words, and the way it's arranged with the melody. It's awesome! When they're saying that without this person they would be a mess, I find that so romantic. When you have that special person it does feel like you're a mess, when they're not around. But the moments you get with them are so worth it. There's this thing called a post-chorus, where there's some more words after the chorus. So post-chorus: "I'm the one that always falls." that part repeats twice, and the vocals are not really screaming just higher with the rough sounding voice. Even if you are the one that always falls, you can always get back up again. Or if they are refuring to relationships, then I'm sure the other person will fall too. Continuing on, with verse 2: "Too many temptations, for someone that just feels nothing more than human." I think this is something we all can relate to, because as humans we do have temptations it's how we deal with them that matters. If we act on them, then that's our choice. There will always be consequences, but that's part of being human. As long as we learn from the mistakes we made, that's all that matters. Then we have the bridge/outro: "I'll give you all you want, (Never wanted it) everything I've got (Taking all I want) Black and white would feel so nice when everything is grey." That part repeats twice, I'm not sure how to analyze this. So I'll leave it up to you, the readers to try to decipher. Then the outro ends with "if I went running, I'd be left feeling like nothing, sometimes I'm a f**** up mess without you." A great way to end a song. With the last part of the chorus. I highly recommend this song, you should totally check it out. I promise it will be worth it.

See you next time! :)

song 87

 Song 87

Welcome to song number 87! Today's song is Electrified by From First to Last! The moment I heard this, I knew it was a good song! Sometimes I even analyze songs while I'm listening to them, and trust me when I say it is worth the listen! One of my playlists is so full right now lol, but it's a good thing. I'm constantly adding to it, and it's a little crazy. It will go from post hard-core to punk rock, to pop punk, to electric punk, like it's insane. Anyway on with the song, starting with the intro, it has that raw energy from post-hardcore that I love. That scratchy, kind of sound. Verse 1: "Dilated, sophisticated mentally. Part spectrum, part alive, yeah. Don't give in to the wonderment, when you let go of all the lies. The world is not a perfect place today, but I can feel the beauty in my veins. Don't try to pull the gold from where I lay, electrified. Even though this vice is tight on me, I'm watching you drown as I can breathe. Yeah, we know this won't be the last time." I'm not entirely sure that was just the first verse, the chorus might have been mixed in  there as well. I love the writing style on this song, as you all may know I love lyrics. Song writers are freaking amazing, I should know I'm in love with one :) I wish I could do this sometimes. On to the next part of the song: "When you're infinite, there's limitless security. Reconnecting the plugs in my mind, DMT the ***** out of me, I'm on a mission to leave my body. I dream in sacred geometry." Ok, this part was actually a verse. I'm not sure what this part means, but I think it's very deep. Then the chorus repeats, and we have the bridge: "Dilated, dilated, I'm born again. Illuminated, Illuminated, I am the end. This is just the beginning, this is just the beginning, I'm feeling high, high, high." Then that part continues into the outro. And of course there's screaming throughout the song as well, which I love. So yeah, it's a very cool track.

Hope you check it out, and I will see you next time :)

song 86

 Song 86

Hello everyone, and welcome back to the blog! Today's song is Artificial by Daughtry! This is a fairly recent song of theirs, and I feel like Daughtry is underrated so I'm showing them some love today! We begin with a very metalcore like intro, and I have to say I like this direction the band has taken. Verse 1: "No blood in the veins, built to feel without the pain. Circuits for the brain, wide awake. A vision of perfection, all lies. A deadly resurrection, disguise. Just another lethal injection to mankind." So right off the bat you have them talking about not being real, and being a subhuman so to speak. Chorus: "Welcome to your worst nightmare, the days are getting dark, you should be scared. It doesn't have a heart, plug into the new you. Don't resist, cause it's no use. It's digital warfare, the death of who we are is right here. It's never gonna stop, plug into your new soul, ice cold. Mechanical, artificial." Here, they are talking about everyone abandoning their human side, and becoming machines. Or machine invading our world, taking over our mind and bodies. Second verse: "No love, no embrace. Something's wrong and outta place. A soulless masquerade, a disgrace. No sickness, no dying, no disease. No begging for mercy on your knees, no God no religion, no beliefs." They're showing all the things you'll be giving up when you hand over everything natural about you. Because when you're a robot, none of these things will be capable. Although I like the idea of no sickness, and no disease. Then the second verse and the chorus blend together, finishing out the song. Plus the melody and tone, are really epic. And Chris Daughtry's voice is freaking amazing! He sounds the same live as he does on recording, which is very rare. One of the best vocalists out there!

Well that wraps up this review, I hope you never forget how precious humanity is. I hope you all don't succumb to every aspect of technology they put out there, because being human is a wonderful gift. I also hope I've convinced you to listen to this song, it is amazing! See you next time! :)

song 85

 Song 85

Welcome back to the blog, today's song is Welcome Home by Bless The Fall. This track is off their 2018 album Hard Feelings, and is 3 minutes and 42 seconds long. This is a classic pop punk track, but I also love the lyrics as well. Starting with the first verse: "I'm out the door, I left a note. With all the words that made me choke, it says "I know you feel alone. You're scared to death, I'm letting go." Sometimes you have to lose it all, to find yourself across the world. From no one else safe for you, but one more word before I go. I'm scared to death, I'm scared to die alone. I'm out the door to chase what I've been searching for, the spaces in between us grow. You'll never know, I'm scared to death of letting go. So take me out of the dark, are we seconds apart. My heart needs a break, it's an honest mistake. Until I find my way back, help me find my way back." It's a long first verse, but the way this song is structured. Is that the whole first verse takes up most of the song, and there's no second verse. Anyway, I get what they're saying here. I am also scared of losing people, and letting go. But the verse is also right, about the losing it all part. Sometimes you do have to lose things, to understand what you have. Next is the chorus: "And bring me home, I'm not ready to believe. That we were meant for this collision, and it's just not what I need. So bring me home, if I make it back. If I make it back, maybe you can be the reason. And fix this part of me, cause it's just not what I need." I just simply like this part, I mean you can't really fix people. But you can be there for them, and I think that's what they were trying to say. Because if he makes it back to a stable mindset, then maybe things won't be so bad. I think this song is about a mental journey, where he needs a little help, and is not doing well. I totally understand that, I've been there. I've had moments where I thought I was never gonna be okay again. But things really do get better, as long you believe they can. Then we have the bridge mixed in with the chorus: "Can you fix this part of me, this part of me. It's not living if I'm not living with you, it's not living if I'm not living with you." But then there's this one person who makes it all worth it, someone who changed your life in more ways then one. They know how to make you smile, and makes everything feel ok again. Hold on to them. At the end of this song, I think the lead singer has his child singing a little bit on the track. Because there's this sweet little voice, near the end and he's talking to them. I think that's an adorable factor. As for the instruments and vocals all really well balanced, and the melody has that special pop punk feel. Which is surprising for a 2018 song. But I think that's what makes it special.

Well that's it for this one, see you all next time.

Song 84

 Song 84

You might want to brace yourselves for today's song! This is probably going to be one of the craziest song reviews I have ever done, but before I get into that I have a couple things to say first. Somebody very special to me sent me this song, huge thank you to them! <3  Next is the content of this song isn't for everyone, and you will see when I analyze the lyrics. So if they trigger you at all, then I recomend you don't read any further.

Ok, on with the review! This song is over nine minutes long, and has a lot of dimensions. Including a speaking part, which I found really cool. The intro is probably one of the longest parts of the song, but it's very slow going at first. Oh oops I forgot to say the title and artist, my bad lol. Okay today's song is called Further Than Forever by Creeper! Now I reviewed another on of their songs I think a few months ago, but this one is totally different. Like I was saying about the intro, it starts off with this tinkling sound. But then goes into a hard guitar riff. A little further in, and now it sounds completely different! I love complex songs like this, where there's a lot of elements. And it's like a song, within a song, within a song. Some examples would be: Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, or Welcome to the Black Parade by MCR. Once you get past the intro, the first verse begins: "Further than forever, deeper than a dream. I was the night, you, the terrifying light. And our kiss could end a life. The city was a poison in my veins, I crossed the line between a sinner and a saint. Knock knocking boots on heaven's floor. While a band of angels stood appalled, get down on your knees and pray." Pre-chorus: "God*****, God bless, go get undressed. You better count your rosary. Divine intervention won't save a soul like me."  I think what I can gather from this is that basically he's saying that he's not perfect. That's pretty much it, lol. Okay, then we have the chorus: "My Armageddon girl, could end your world with one look. She'll drain the blood, and drag you from the light. (Ooh-ooh) with a city of devils,) (Ah-ah) she's killing angels, (Ooh-ooh) just to watch them die." Then maybe she has some deep psychological issues she needs to work out, lol but seriously I think what he's saying here is that this girl is dangerous, and you should watch your back. Second verse: "I'm a devil doing good deeds instead, I'm Jesus in a strip club giving head. Baby, I'm always dying, never dead. Cry, cry, cry, my darling. Till the tears turn red. And stain the sheets upon your bed." I actually love part of this verse, and it's the last line. I find it very deep, and raw. Next is the talking part: "And at the edge of forever, I saw her. A phantom, a specter in the snow. She took my by the hand, and led me through the frost bitten night. She spoke of communion in the depths of eternity, of evil and sin. Through the cathedral grounds, we walked over graves and moss covered tombs. Under a sea of guilty hung stars, she laid with me. And it was then when she took me, when she sunk herself inside me like a stone. Thrown into the abyss of the ocean, I saw the famous light. I saw agony and ecstasy as I lost myself. Th headstones stood proud above us, and witnessed my death. And rebirth. Dragged down to hell! Hell! Are you brave enough to dream, are you brave enough to dream? I came way down to hell! Hell!" You get the idea. I like the fact that they added a speaking part, I think that's really cool. Are they the first band to do this? no, but it's still cool. Then the chorus repeats one final time, but this time it's also the outro as well. Which means that it's a little softer on the instrumentals, and the vocals also get a little more soft. That's not the case with every song, for this one it is. I like how the outro slowly starts to fade at the end, that's one of my favourite ways to end songs. I think that covers everything, it's a little hard to understand what it's fully about. But I think the just of it is, he's not perfect and there's a girl who's also not perfect. But then they find solace in each other, and know that they don't have to be perfect. Of course that's just my interpretation, and I could be wrong. But that's just how I see it.

A really unique song, with a lot going on. I really hope you consider checking it out, trust me it is worth it! See you next time :)

song 83

 Song 83

Here we are again! hehe :) Today I have for all of you is The Rest Of Us by Simple Plan! Another Canadian band that I love, this song specifically really made me happy. I love the upbeat melody, and the message as well. I always try to promote being true to yourself, and loving who you are. And this song is exactly like that, so let's slip into the first verse: "I'm okay, I'm okay. Kinda being awkward socially, with the fact that the girls don't lose their sh** when they look at me. It's okay, it's okay. That I'm not that good at anything, and I don't hit the notes perfectly when I try to sing." This part here, is saying how he's not perfect and he's comfortable being an out cast. The socially awkward part I can absolutely relate to, even when I'm talking to people I know I'm still very awkward. But that's ok. Pre-chorus: "Oh-oh, I know I am not alone." which is true, because everyone feels like this time to time. The chorus: "Here's to the rest of us, to all the ones that never felt they were good enough. I wanna hear it for the dazed and confused, the freaks and the losers. Let's put them up, here's to the rest of us." For all the ones, who felt like they didn't belong. The kids who were often overlooked, for being shy, or a little "weird" this song is for all of you. Second verse: "I'm okay, I'm okay. I don't need to be a billionaire, so freaking bad. And my trust fund hopes are looking sad, I confess I'm a mess. I'm perfectly dysfunctional, but I don't give a damn. If you feel the same let me hear you say." I think this part is self explanatory. The chorus has another verse in this section, so I will add that in. "Here's to the rest of us, we do it better than the rich and the fabulous. I wanna hear it for the nothing to lose, with something to prove." I like this line, because it's saying that you don't have to be rich or popular to be amazing. Next is the bridge: "We don't need to apologize for anything, oh-oh, oh-oh. We're who we are, I just wanna hear you sing, oh-oh, I know I am not alone." It's a short bridge, but I still felt it should be in here. Then on the outro, with the chorus. There's some more lyrics. "The lost, the geeks, the rejects, the losers. The wrong, the freaks, the hopeless, the future." Such a great line, especially for the younger generation who are just finding themselves. Remember everyone, just because you may be a "nerd" or an outcast, it doesn't mean that you can't be successful. Or can't have friends, you are one hundred percent you. And that's a beautiful thing! :)

Well that's it for this review, I hope you check it out! And I will see you next time. :)

song 82

 Song 82

Hello everyone, and welcome back to the blog! :) I have another wonderful song for you all today! So without further explanation, here we go! Today's song is Blood On The Walls by Attack Attack! So for the intro, it's pretty raw that's how I would put it. With the instruments all compiled together, forming this raw metalcore sound. Which is a mix of electronic and rock. Verse 1: "Excuse the mess, I just had to give you all of me. I'll take your wrath, I won't take a half apology."  Trying to unpack this verse is a little tricky, so I'll leave this verse up to you the readers to analyze. The pre-chorus: "You drop me in a hole like ketamine, six feet where you leave what's left of me. Made a home where I thought I'd never be, look what you've done." This means he was treated badly before, I think.  The chorus: "Blood on the walls, dip the brush in my veins. Hate how I love what you've done with the place. Every night we play a game of chess, black and white but now I'm seeing red. Blood on the walls, baby don't make me beg, beg for death." Ok, I think what they're saying here, is they don't want to be treated like trash anymore. Second verse: "I can't escape cause I need you like an enemy, climb in my cage, you can end me like a tragedy." Now I feel like he's saying that they need them, when they don't really need them? Maybe? I'm not entirely sure, but that's how it feels to me. The bridge: "Why do I love it when you treat me like a piece of meat? Cut me up till there's nothing really left of me, good thing there's such thing as double jeopardy. Cause every night you make the bedroom a murder scene." I think our protagonist in this story, is some kind of masochist. Meaning that he actually likes it when he's being abused, that may not be the word I'm looking for here. But that's how I see these lyrics. Then you have the last line, where he says "Baby, don't make me beg, beg for death." Which is kind of giving off mixed signals, this song is a little all over the place with what it's about. But I still really like it, I like the edginess of it. I like the melody, and the vocals. Plus I never listened to this band before, and wanted to give them a shot. I'm really glad I did, because it exposed to this unique song.

See you next time! :)

song 81

 Song 81

Hello everyone! Happy October! This is honestly one of my favourite months, because my birthday is this month, and also Halloween! And Thanksgiving here in Canada! So a very exciting month! But for now I have another song to review for all of you, so here we go! Today's song is Top 10 Statues That Cried Blood, by Bring Me The Horizon! This song is off their recent album that came out a few months ago! I like the dynamic this song has, it has this electronic sound to it. But it still has the old school instrument feel as well, a mix of the modern and the past. Verse 1: "I guess that some of us are just born with tragedy in our blood, it's just basic chemistry. Or maybe all these open wounds, is how the light gets into you." I like this line, because I feel like they're saying your scars are part of your story. They don't define you, but they're part of what made you who you are. And that's a beautiful thing. Chorus: "Cause I'm starting to realize, no one's gonna come and rescue me. I'm drowning in my sleep, the scars have got too deep. And no amount of love could set you free, the fight's inside I'll take myself to hell and back. Tonight we go to war." Now the chorus I feel like is talking about fighting to stay alive, as well as knowing that people aren't always gonna be there for you, so you have to be there for yourself sometimes. Of course that's just my interpretation. Second verse: "Someone put a gun straight to our hearts, and paint the walls with our love. There's a world of hurt in us, and maybe once we spill our guts, we can stitch ourselves back up." We can put ourselves back together again, whatever happens in our lives. The bridge: "Cause I know that you're low, but once you hit the bottom. At least there's nowhere to go but up, yeah I know that you're low. But once you hit the bottom, at least there's nowhere to go but up." "yeah. The hardest thing you'll ever know, is there's no love like your own. No, there's no love like your own." I like this part because, our own self love is just as important as loving other people. I mean sure, we all get insecure from time to time. But that shouldn't stop us from feeling good about ourselves. Then the last line in the song is "Tonight we go to war." I'm gonna take that as a sign to keep fighting, and to love myself and others the way I know how. Plus the melody is just fun, and different. Although it does also feel like a pop punk song, which I can always get behind, because I love that genre.

Ok, that's it for this review, I hope you enjoy this song! :)
