song 80

 Song 80

Here we are 80 reviews! My goal is to get to 100 before the end of the year. And I want to do something special for my 100th review! I hope I can get there, but for now song 80! Now I only found this song yesterday, but I really love the message in it. So the song I have for today is Stay Weird by The Funeral Project! So the intro is slow, but then kind of picks up with the guitar and the base. Verse 1: "Here's to the kid in the crowd, who curses the cliques so devout. And all of their idols of gold. Secondhand shirt on your back, religiously covered in black. Your soul could never be sold." As an undiagnosed autistic teen, high school was a nightmare for me. I felt like I didn't belong anywhere, and I wore a lot of band tees, and my clothes were a way I could express myself, without using my voice. Chorus: "Perfect isn't perfect to me, I'd rather go down with the freaks, than feast with the kings. Stay weird, don't ever fake it. Don't let them take out your heart. Stay weird, so what they hate you. Their world can't contain who you are." I really love that, they're saying how you should be yourself regardless of what other people think. Second verse: "Here's to the fearless and crazy, who don't give a f*** what the others say. They just do what they want, circles are meant to be broken. Thank God you're not like the chosen ones, boring till the end." Here the song is saying embrace who you are, and be authentically you. Be a little crazy, be weird, because boring is icky. lol. Then the chorus repeats, and we have the bridge: "Born to be one of a kind, conditioned to fall into line. For the wrong life, for the wrong life. They'll tell you to be who you are, then rip out your will and your heart. Without sacrifice, you're the sacrifice." Here they're saying how people can be so hypocritical, like people will say that you can wear what you want, then make fun of you for it. People fear what they don't understand, and unfortunately they take it out on people. But as long as you're staying true to you, that's all that matters. So like the song says, stay weird, be unique, wear what you want. It's a lot of fun, as an alt girl I love my outfits and wearing some really killer pieces. And yes I even have wolf ears and a tail that I like to wear sometimes. Because pretending to be a wolf is fun! This song has pretty much the same tempo throughout, so not much to analyze there. But I do hope you check this track out, not just because it's a really good song. But because it might just inspire you to break free from the crowd, and be a wonderful, unique individual. :)

See you next time! :)

song 79

 Song 79

Today's song is another dedication to my best friend, I just feel like this is a perfect description of how they make me feel, so here we go. The song is called Lucky To Know You by SayWeCanFly! The intro is a very nice clear tempo, with little pings of something. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but that's as best as I can describe it. Verse 1: "Remember when we met, it's been so long now I almost forget. Who I was, back when I still didn't know you yet. We've both grown up, and I can't believe how much has changed since then. I've moved around, made mistakes and learned a lot with time. But you took my hand, and showed me how to own them cause they're mine. And all along, through everything you never left my side." The first part is deffinetly true. From my perspective, I could never go back to how things were before I met this person. They have made a huge impact on my life, and now I don't want to think about them not being here. We may not have known each other all our lives, but in some ways it feels like it. Chorus: "Sometimes I wish the world could know just who you are to me, but some days I feel selfish like you're a secret I should keep. Who would've thought you'd be the one I got so close to. I'm lucky to know you." That's the first part of the chorus, and everything in that first part is true. I'm trying to keep things more private now, but at the same time I kind of want the world to know lol. Second part of the chorus: "I wish to you the greatest things for all your greatest dreams, even if that means they take you far away from me. I love you more and more with everything I go through, I'm lucky to know you." We've been through some rough parts, but the more we go through the more I love them. Second verse: "When you fall, there's no else to hold you up like me. And when you cry, you can cry forever on my sleeve. When you get lost, I'll run to you just like you did for me." Always being there, no matter what. Having each others back, it's what makes a friendship strong. Then the chorus repeats, a bunch of times. Ending with "I'm lucky to know you." And I am so freaking lucky to know my person, meeting them was something I didn't know I needed. Even with the rough patches, because those made us stronger. Throughout the song, it has the slow easy melody. And I think there's piano involved. Just a really beautiful song. And to my best friend/person I love: "I'm lucky to know" :)

song 78

 Song 78

Hi everyone, for this week's song review I'm going in a more serious direction. Today's song is Leave A Light On, by Papa Roach. September is suicide prevention month, and this song was dedicated to Linkin Park's lead singer Chester Bennington. Because he unfortunately took his own life, and this song is about being there for someone. It's about how thoughts cloud our judgement, and how powerful depression really is. So before I start analyzing this song, I just want you all to know, if you or someone you know is thinking about ending their life. Please don't hesitate to ask for help, there are people out there who can help you. I know it may not seem like people would understand, or you think that they're full of it, when they say "it will get better." But you can get better, asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It may be the strongest thing you ever do, it won't be easy. There will be times when you think you can't do this, but I want to tell you that you can! Because you deserve to be on this earth, you are loved, you are important, and you matter. I've never thought about ending my life, but I was in a dark place in high school. I thought that no one would even notice if I just didn't show up, I felt invisible, I was so sad. I may not know exactly what it's like, but I know how powerful emotions can be. Remember this: Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Take care of yourselves everyone, especially your mental health. *hugs* Now on to the review. Verse 1: "Dry bones rattle in a lonely soul, slipped and fell into a deep black hole. I can tell you're lost, I'm here for you. Wildfires burning you down to stone, blind eyes turning from a world so cold. A million miles apart within my reach." The black hole line, I think they're talking about the thoughts consuming you. And the being lost, meaning you have kind of a blank stare, and kind of a look of despair. The chorus: "It's not like me, to worry. But when I see you fading in the dark, I'll leave a light on for you. Through the long nights, I will be right there for you, if you drift too far. I'll leave a light on for you, you, you." Always being there for someone, lighting your way when the darkness creeps in. Verse 2: "Rain comes following an endless drought, to wash away the remnants of all your doubt. I hope that you see me looking out." He hopes that you can see him, looking out for you. There to talk if you need it. Then the chorus repeats, and there's no bridge on this track, just some backing vocals going "oh" Which sounds really beautiful. The chorus repeats again, with the last "you" sounding so sweet, and caring. The melody is very slow, and steady. Which I think is appropriate for what this song is about, I believe the instruments on this track are soft guitar. Like an acoustic one, and possibly some piano. I highly recommend listening to this track, it's very pretty, and may help you or someone else.

That's it for this review, I will see you next time :)

Song 77

 Song 77

Hello music lovers! The blog is back in writing action, today's song is by a band that I think got lost in the shuffle. They are a little more lesser known, but they are seriously amazing! So without further adieu, today's song is Starting Over by Famous Last Words! They are my current band obsession, and I love this song so much! So let's start with verse 1: "It will be alright! Starting over, it will kill me! Bring me back to times we had! It's far too late, and I cannot wait any longer. And it's killing me, it's been one dark year. And you grow older, older, older. And I hope I get closer, wiser, and stronger. But I'll seen you soon. One day you will find you are always on my mind, and I think of you. I'll cross a burning bridge and I'll always be with you. It will be alright! The pieces come together and they form a perfect picture, I'll win this fight! I'll cross the seven seas and you'll always be with me." From this first verse, I can gather that this person is saying that his love will always be with him. No matter what the cause, or how far away they may seem. I love that, I think it's very romantic. Next is the chorus: "Baby, don't cry tonight. My only sin was saying goodbye, all those times. I drove away and cried, and lied, and said I'd be alright." Here, he's saying how saying goodbye was a mistake. And he regrets letting them go. Now there's no second verse, just a bridge after the chorus. So here's the bridge: "In my dreams, I see her face. She looks at me, that's as close as they will let me be. Just a memory, it will turn real. Eventually, I don't care what they do, cause no one can stop me." He keeps seeing her in his dreams, and no one is gonna stop him from trying to make amends. I find that admirable, if the person accepts the apology. Sometimes that doesn't happen, but let's say for happy ending sake she does accept it, and they make up. Then the chorus repeats again, and it ends with "Bring me back to times we had!" Meaning he want's to go back to how things were, before he said goodbye. The music part of this is so awesome, I love how catchy it is. The melody is so fun, and the screams are really good as well. Because they are described as a metalcore/post hardcore band, so there is gonna be screaming. But I love that, so it works. One thing about me, is I love watching music videos. I just think they are amazing, especially older ones. For example this song came out in 2013, and the music video looks like it could be from older than that. Like almost 2008, there's another music video by them I love. I might do that song next week. Do yourself a favor and check these guys out, they deserve more love and recognition.

That's it for this week's review, happy September everyone! And I'll see you all in the next review! :)
