Song 76

 Song 76

Hello my fellow music nerds! Welcome back to the blog, today's song is from a pretty legendary band from the 2000s. The song is Note To Self by From First to Last! They were a pretty historical band, in the pop punk/emo/screamo/rock/metalcore/everything else in between genre. And I had the opportunity to watch the music video for this, it was epic! Music videos back then were just awesome, I freaking love the look so much. Okay on with the review! Starting with the lyrics, then the music. This song is laid out differently, everything kind of blends together, so I'll just write all the lyrics out. "Two roads, split off from here. And my life goes running in opposite directions. Exaggerating the barrier between who I am, and who I want to be. I wanted to be that breath of fresh air, when everything smelled so insincere. But this taste still lingers in my mouth, deceit has ways of sticking around. And I'm ready to disappear, vacation seems far (seems far) from here. (Note to self) I miss you terribly. (This is what) we call tragedy. (come back to me) come back to me. (to me) (note to self) I miss you terribly. (This is what) we call tragedy. (Come back to me) back to me. (to me) I can feel my mind, wandering again. Into where I don't know, and will I ever get home? Time starts moving, faster than I can. And I'm sick of this scene, I need to break the routine. I can feel my mind wandering again. Into where I don't know, and will I ever get home? Time starts moving, faster than I can. And I'm sick of this scene, I need to break the routine. Two roads, split off from here. And my life goes running in opposite directions. Exaggerating the barrier between, who I am and who I want to. Which part of me is lost? I feel so close, and yet I am so far. Which part of me is lost? I feel so close, and yet (I am so far)" I know it's a lot to take in, but I think the message is not knowing the real you. And wondering where you are, trying to find yourself. That kind of thing. Which I love, because sometimes we can forget who we are. But sometimes people, or places, or other thing can help you find yourself again. Now the music part, it's very raw and edgy and everything that was awesome about early 2000s music. The melody gets stuck in your head, and it's just so fun to rock out to.

That's it for this week's review, see you in the next one! :)

Song 75

Song 75

Hey everybody, welcome back to the blog. Today's song is Unpopular by Skillet. This is a new release from the band, and it is fantastic. So let's get into it. Gonna switch it up a little bit today, and just analyze the lyrics first before any of the music stuff. So I won't mention any intros or outros, until I finish with the lyrics. Ok starting with verse 1: "Am I the only one who ain't come undone? Everybody's lost their dang minds, when you check your feed it's like clown TV. And you're waiting for the punchline. Oh, my, my, hey, yeah. Guess I'm a loner in the crowd. Oh, my, my, hey, yeah. Guess I'm the one you've been talking about." I think what this verse is implying is how crazy the world is, and how fake people are nowadays. Then we have the chorus: "Unpopular, unpopular. Call me out, clasp down. Can't supplement true facts, have you heard? I'm a commoner. Got my family, sanity. Everything I need. If freedom is disease, who would ever wanna be popular? For what it's worth, I think today's a good day to be unpopular."  The chorus, is talking about how fame is overrated. And that it's a good thing to be unpopular. Verse 2: I won't apologize when I speak my mind, I'm just being me so lay off. If thinking for myself is called raising hell, I guess that I'm an outlaw. I ain't a loner in the crowd, guess we about to be getting loud." This is basically saying how, if you don't like what I have to say then so be it. I don't care, I'm gonna stand up and say what I like. This song has a very small bridge, I wouldn't even call it a full bridge. But here's the little piece anyway. "I guess I am the one, whatever." He means he's the one people have been talking about, because he's standing out from the rest. Since people hate things that are different, this song is talking about how being popular is not always the best. And that it's ok to stand out from the crowd, and be unpopular. That's the lyrics covered, now we have the music part. I really like the small intro, it has that fuzzy guitar sound which I love. You look at the lyrics, then pair them with the music and vocals it sounds so much edgier. I think it has a really good beat, and the vocals are so freaking awesome. I don't know the name of the lead singer, but he's really good. So yeah, just a really cool song.

See you next week :0

Song 74

 Song 74

Hello my fellow music nerds! Welcome back to the blog! Once again, I have a hard time deciding what song to do! Especially since the artists I listen to have released some new songs, so I go through songs, thinking that I picked the one I want to do. Then at the last minute I change my mind! lol But I have this week's song picked out, and I hope I can convince you wonderful people to listen to it! Let's go! This week's song is Even When I'm Not With You by Pierce the Veil! This song is off their album from last year, called Jaws of Life. And it got a lot of hate, for absolutely no reason at all. I happen to love this album, and this song in particular. Starting off, there's a little bit of an intro. And it has a nice flow. Which brings us into verse 1: "I could run all night, I would never tire or slow. I could hold you tight, tighter than that sold-out show. I believe in the slow ride, so I drag your heart through the sand and snow, I couldn't live by the old school rule, I binge watch every episode. I, oh I've been wrong. Heart under the gun, look how far we've come. Think I've finally won." I like how this is spaced out, and the lyrics are very beautiful. There really isn't a chorus on this track, but the pre-chorus is the "Oh I've been wrong" line. Then we move on to verse 2: "Red lip'd snow white, sipping beer through a straw real slow, I had a perfect high. Lip locked in a bathroom stall, I." Oh sorry about that, turns out there is already a pre-chorus. And the "oh I've been wrong" section is the chorus. My bad. Then we have the bridge: Even when I'm not with you, I'm still with you. Even when I can't see you, I still feel you. Even when I can't touch you, I pretend to. Even when I'm not with you, I'm still with you. Even when I think I hate you, I still love you. Even when I can't kiss you, I still wait to. Even when I'm not with you, I'm still with you. Even when I'm not with you, I'm still with you." I love the bridge's lyrics, they are so romantic. It totally puts me in my feels, and I think about someone special to me. Then we have the outro, which actually has like an extra verse. "It's good to know that I'm, the only one who can cut you further. What is love besides, two souls trying to heal each other." That last line, I agree with completely. On to the music part, there's like a fuzzy guitar sound on this track which I LOVE in a song. There's also clapping, I think that's a nice human touch. It's a slow melody, and along with the guitar there sounds like another instrument as well. I think it's soft piano, it's this tinkling sound. Or it could be chimes, sometimes artists will put some wind chimes sounds in their tracks so it could be that. And if that's the case, that is awesome and a really nice touch!

I hope you check this song out, and give Jaws of Life some love. Because it's a good album! See you next week! :)

Song 73

 Song 73

Hello everyone! It's another Tuesday, which means it's time for a new review! Picking songs is always hard for me, because I have so many songs that deserve reviews. So it can take me awhile before I decide on one, but I did choose one for today! This is kind of a dedication review, I won't give out names to keep things private, but this review is dedicated to my best friend/person/someone I think the world of. So without further adieu, let's get into it. This week's song is The Heart Never Lies by Mcfly. They are another UK based band, I listen to a lot of bands from there. Now there is a little bit of an intro in this song, it's slow paced and really sets the mood. (Which I believe is calm and inviting) Then we go into verse 1: "Some people laugh, and some people cry. Some people live, and some people die. Some people run, right into the fire. Some people hide, their every desire. But we are the lovers, if you don't believe me. Then just look into my eyes, cause the heart never lies." I like this first verse because of what it means, which is how human we really are. And how it's ok to feel things, as well as how the heart always remembers something or someone important. No matter how much time has passed. On to verse 2: Some people fight, and some people fall. Others pretend, they don't care at all. If you wanna fight, I'll stand right beside you. The day that you fall, I'll be right behind you. To pick up the pieces, if you don't believe me. Just look into my eyes, cause the heart never lies." This one is saying how he'll always be there, especially through the hard times. Then we have the bridge: "Whoah, whoah, another year over, and we're still together. It's not always easy, but I'm here forever. We are the lovers, I know you believe me. When you look into my eyes, cause the heart never lies." I love how it says that it's not always easy, because yeah sometimes things are hard. But you'll be there no matter what, because some people are worth it. So as the song comes to a close, it slowly takes us out. With the same soft, slow calm melody throughout the entire track. I just realized, that there really isn't a a chorus in this song. That's interesting. Anyway back to the instruments: I think there's piano, drums, guitar. The piano part is at the beginning, and then the other ones come into play with the rest of the song. I think the piano is also in the bridge. I think it's a really pretty song, and I wanted to dedicate this track to my best friend, because of the main message of how the heart never forgets. And how we're always there for each other.

I hope you consider checking this song out, it's a very easy listen, and sometimes you just need a song like this one. :) See you next week!
