Song 66
Hello! Welcome back to the blog, last song review of the month! I know there wasn't a lot this month, like I've said I have a hard time picking songs to review. Because I have so many that I want to do! But today I found a song that is perfect, so here we go! Today's song is Artifact by I Fight Dragons! The intro for this is very well done, it has a nice hook. I like the beat, and the melody. I just think it's very catchy, but it also has this little bit of electric pop in it. This band always has some form of electric pop sounds in their songs, they combine rock with that sound. I think it really adds something unique to the track. My main reason for picking this song, is because of what they're saying. Here's some of the lyrics: "Break all the guitars, and burn them, rock is dead they held a funeral. Once upon a time, they made it, now the DJs just replay it." This song is about how much music has changed, and a lot of artists have seemed to forgotten classic instruments in their songs. Everyone's using techno, or something else along those lines. The song is called Artifact, because they're saying how rock is considered "ancient" now. This song really spoke to me, and says all the things I have been thinking about when it comes to how music used to be. Now I may have been a little kid in the early 2000s, but I have been listening to a lot of the music from the era for the last 2 years. And I wish music was like that again. Back when it made you feel something, and when the bass drops you know it's going to be a good song. Now I'm not saying all the new stuff is bad, because Escape the Fate has some some stuff that sounds awesome, even with the electric poppy stuff. But it would be nice for artists to remember to use their actual instruments again. So this song is not only great because of the fact that it's catchy, it also makes you think. There's another part of this song, that also refers to old music being a relic. "Maybe one day, all the kids will go: "guitar, bass, and drums so retro!" I hope like heck it does not come to that, we need to keep this genre alive people! I encourage all of you to please check this out, not just because it's a great track, but because you might learn something from it.
I will see you all in July, and I hope I get more of these next month! I have a bunch more to do, so be on the lookout for that! And as always, thank you so much for reading these! :) <3
