Song 41

 Song 41

My boyfriend is the best! They always send me the best songs! (now I'm not being biased here because there has been one or two I didn't like) but other than that it usually is a song I love like he does! So today's song that was so graciously sent to me by my love, is The Near Future IV. Another Week. By I Fight Dragons! (which is a pretty cool name for a band) This song kind of reminds me of 80s rock a little bit, I like how this one is laid out. There's like two verses inside the main verses, like verse 1 has two verses. Then it goes into the chorus, the bridge is in the same place a bridge would be in. On the outro the music gets slower, fading out as the song ends. I love how it does that! Here is  one of the verses: "So once again I'm in the same position, in between the lines, a soldier with no mission. Trapped inside my mind, chronic condition of the scared." Song writers are amazing, they have such a way with words. The story that is present in this song, is about how the singer lost his love. Now everything reminds him of her. It's sad, but I like sad songs. As for the instruments on this track, they are perfection. I like the beat of the drums on this one, and the guitar riffs as well. I can almost picture the way the person is playing it, there's also this like digital poppy sound which was probably made with a synth. Or a program that has a synth option. Now I think that part is used on the bridge, to kind of bring the listener in more as the song comes to an end. That is all I have to say about this song, I hope you check it out :)   a special thank you to my love for this song, I love talking about music with you, and sharing it together. Love you <3

song 40

 Song 40

Well here we are at the 40th song! And it is, (get ready for this) Godzilla by With Confidence! Now I'm done a couple songs by them before, but I like this one because of it's sound. This song is off one of their EPs called Distance, came out in 2015. I like the guitar on this one, it's really like that classic feel of 2000s rock era. And the drums also blend really well on this track, I also like the lead singers voice, I think he's very talented and sounds awesome! I like the melody on this song, it's easy listening and I like the lyrics. "I hope that your wounds will never heal, and I hate every breath that you take. Cause I feel and I kneel, and I break." Whoa! That's some deep feelings right there, like someone hurt this person. I think that's one of the reasons why I love music, the amount of emotion that goes into it. Music is one of the most beautiful things in the world, it brings people together, can help heal us, and calm us down, it gets us through rough times, it makes us fall in love, it makes us dance, and laugh. It's just so special to me, music has always been such a huge part of my life. Now I get to share that, well that's about it for this song, please consider checking it out, I promise you won't be disappointed. :)

song 39

 Song 39

Today's song is 2am by girlfriends (feat. DeathbyRomy) This song is very upbeat, and I love the theme of it. Just enjoying being with the person you love, and knowing that you're safe with that person. This is also a duet, so I love that aspect of it too. Duets are really special, the harmonies you can get with two people can be amazing! Here's the chorus "just breathe, while you're laying next to me I feel safe from everyone. Stuck in the middle, I just need a little a little bit more of you, I feel safe from everyone." So yeah, just a really nice and fun song. Might also be a good song to sing with that special person in your life, I know I have fun singing it. Their voices blend well on this track, the guys vocals are deeper and hers are lighter and clearer, but it works! As for the instrumentals on this track, they're a little tricky to point out. Like I know there's drum work in there, but there's also like this poppy sound. It's hard to explain it but it's there. Well that's it for this one, until next time.

song 38

 Song 38

Hello! Welcome back to song reviews! So who likes acoustic songs? Today's song is the acoustic version of My Heroine by Silverstein, I love acoustic versions of songs. This one especially is really cool, I love how soft and slow the melody is. You can hear the singing really clearly, it's just really great. I find acoustic songs really intimate and special, it's like you can hear the emotion and the lyrical work on a whole different level. In this version of the song the screaming parts are taken out, and replaced with regular singing. I can almost picture the finger work on the acoustic guitar, I just really find this beautiful. (for you dirty minded people, yeah I said finger work lol get it out of your systems) Anyway I hope you check this out, it's really beautiful and I hope you consider listening to more acoustic songs :)

I know it's a short one today, but that's really all I had to say about this one. I'm doing a little better, I hope to write more reviews this week. I just really love talking about music, and sharing that love with other people :)

song 37

 Song 37

Song 37 is another Mayday Parade song, because I love the band, and I'm always finding songs I like by them. This song I'm reviewing by them is called Save Your Heart! I just started listening to this song, but I love it! It's amazing, and very meaningful. The part of the chorus that I love is start of it, "save your heart for someone who's worth dying for." Like that was deep, if you are lucky enough to find someone worth dying for you know it's real love. ( I feel like I have that kind of love) Anyway, right at the intro of the song you're hit with a drum and guitar combo. It's really cool, and the melody is slow but so full of emotion. Here's the second part of the chorus "Don't give it away, torn apart never getting what you've been crying for." Song writers are so amazing, part of me kind of wants to try writing lyrics again but I don't know. This band are also really great singers, which I've mentioned before, especially the way they harmonize. And that's all I have to say about this one :)

Song 36

 Song 36

Today's song is Love Like Winter by AFI! So this song is very unique, it makes me want music like this back. There's this cool cut up thing that's going on with the guitar in the chorus. (my boyfriend's words :) The vocals are really interesting too, I love the tone of the voices and the way these people sing pulls you in. I reviewed a song by them before, I know how they sound. Only this time is different, because it's like they reinvented their sound with this song. I love this bands dynamic, and they just have this way of pulling you in, I also love lyrics as you know. So I will share some from this song "It's in the blood, it's in the blood. I met my love before I was born, he wanted love, I taste of blood. He bit my lip and drank my war, from years before, from years before." That is so sick! Yeah the instrumentals on this are great, the drums and the guitar action compliment each other really well on this. I love the singing, the lead voice his tone and diction doesn't sound like everyone else's. As a singer myself, I appreciate unique voices, and how songs sound with the vocals. It's really cool how this guy sings, and if you decide to check this song out I promise you'll see what I mean :) This is a pretty old song, it came out 14 years ago, but it honestly is something I listen to in terms of genre I like, so to me it's not out of style.

song 35

 Song 35

Yes I am back at it again, with another song! Today's song is My Heroine by Silverstein! I really love the tone of this song, as well as the raw emotion in the lyrics. I also always appreciate a good scream in a song, and this deffinetly (I can never spell this word) delivers. The guitar action on this track is also really cool, I think the person playing it is really good at shredding. I will now share some lyrics, this is one of the screaming parts of the song. "You won't leave me alone, chisel my heart out of stone, I give in every time." I love that kind of emotion in a song. Someone very special to me sent me this song, and I knew I would love it when I heard the opening notes. Thank you to my special someone for sending me this, I love it and you so much! <3 Well I think that's all I have to say about this track, hope you check it out! :)

song 34

 Song 34

Hello my fellow music lovers! Welcome back to song reviews, happy September! I don't know about you but it's hotter than the freaking sun where I live, so I'm in my room with the fan on just hanging out. And I thought since it's a new month I would do a song review, so today's song is (drum roll) Your Song by Mayday Parade! Now this is not a cover of the Elton John song, they just have the same title. I love Mayday Parade, their music and vocals are so cool and I love the lyrics they have on their songs. This particular song I found only today but I just love it! The melody is very calming, slow and easy. The lyrics on this one are so beautiful, you can tell they put their heart and soul into this song. These are some of the lyrics: "I'll sing every song I wrote, if it will make you want to stay, and then I'll say. That I missed you, and these words they'll convince you. I poured through every song I wrote, every line that I've cried, every note that was spilt with this pen." So beautiful, this whole song is done on the piano with some sort of string instrument complimenting it. which makes it more peaceful. Good job Mayday Parade, for pulling me in with another wonderfully written song, it came out in 2006 but it's still amazing! Like I said good music never gets old. So I encourage all of you who read this to check it out, and give their other songs a listen as well. I promise you won't regret it!

That's it for this review, I hope you all have a great week and I'll write you next time :)
